That ending brought tears to my eyes. I love how you try so hard to bust the stupid internet myths that people spew out which can definitely harm someone's image. So much respect for this lady.

This was a fantastic, heartfelt video. That was a perfect glimpse into what it would be like to live in an isolated area and maintain a lighthouse. I don’t think of it as a lonely job, but rather a very fortunate opportunity to be able to take in all that beauty and still be able to connect with the mainland as she does. Well done.

It's really sad how Elena is being labeled by others as "insane" for living her dream life. Thank you for showing this side of her. At the end of the day, we as humans have pretty short lives. Wow man, this is really cool. I'm very glad you got to see the northern lights, and wow, learning about this really makes you appreciate what you have. If it weren't for the cold and loneliness, I'd gladly try a job like that. Something like that, and the fact that Elena was willing to do it and found a part of herself through it, that's something special. Also, I realize that she's been doing this pretty much as long as I've been alive. That is crazy for me to think about. Keep opening up our eyes, Ryan. Elena is so beautiful. Slow living is no easy task. It’s amazing Ryan was able to show us what she has to do everyday to survive up there. Most of us couldn’t do that. We’ve gotten too comfortable with everything being fast and immediate for us. But Elena shows with slow moving you can be just as happy. It all comes down to a certain mindset. And what a gift to be able to see the Northern Lights before he left. I’ve heard that to be the Throne Of God. 😊

Well said. Lately I find myself turning everything off, sit by the window, and read a book. When you stop doing things, you realize the world only goes as fast as you want it to. The more you relax, the better life feels.

I actually volunteered at Elena an Frode‘s for seven weeks until mid November. I lived in the boathouse visible at 6:00 in the background. Although this Video is a bit romanticised, it captured the essence of what life on the island is about very well. I am extremely grateful for the experiences I got to make there.

the ending really made me cry 😭 for someone that feels lonely most of the time it is great to hear that being alone/ lonely can be good and peaceful, as long as you don't loose sight of your dreams. It'll be all good in the end

It's been a while since I watched a lot of your videos, but I have to say that I'm blown away by this one. The way you can mix comedic edits and awkwardness with such an amazing way of storytelling and experience is mindblowing to me. This video, and Elena's story, have actually made me think about some parts of the way I live; taking a break from everything you feel the need to do, as she said. Thank you for this experience.
