The way to use a lodestone is by having a compass and smacking it and the compass will leed you to the lodestone

To use a loadstone you need to have a compass the compass will look like its enchated the compass will lead you to the loadstone once you click it

If you click with a compass with lodestone It will always show the way to the lodestone. By using this way you can find your home easily.And accuratly It needs a one netherite ingot to craft

If you use a compass on a lodestone, the compass will connect with lodestone and will point to the lodestone anywhere in the dimension the lodestone is in.

You needed to put trapdoors on the edges of the spawning platform so the mobs will think that there is a block to walk on. Also, spiders need a 3x3, so you could've put theslabs every third block
