I think you should've made false tnt traps, traps that didn't have tnt/weren't traps, that would fool them into being weary around the false traps, and make them waste time by trying to go around

a way to make it harder is add a wall in the middle so there are two entrances and only one can go to the exit

From the tree, I believe there was a 3 block one up jump where you could've gotten to the top of the maze. Epic Video.

The biggest hack for mazes is just follow the right side of the wall the whole way through and you'll eventually get to the end.
