You know it. That is a hard task to be able to give back to your parents when they’ve done so much as parents to make sure they give their children every possible opportunity at a better life that they possibly can. It’s such a genuine good heartfelt feeling. I say hard task referring to myself because I often feel guilty accepting anything from my kids. Growing up, my family had always been the type to have the oldest generation taking care of things whether it’s a group of family going out to eat or if we go on vacation ( which wasn’t fancy but best times of my life ) it’s been the older generations taking care of the reservations and things. So my mom ( fighting over the bill with my grandmother) runs it the same as well as myself and siblings. When I’m with my kids and niece and nephews I cover. Just the way it is . tradition. Same with gifts, it’s always the return game for the same reasons

The best part of this series for me is seeing the close relationship between Alexandra & her parents. I can see why Alexandra is so talented & wonderful. The apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree. I love that this is a family home with all the memories that entails. They just added even more & I am here for it! Team AG killed it, as always!! ❤

My heart gave a huge squeeze when your father exclaimed “Holy Mackinaw!” My late father used to say that and I haven’t heard anyone say it since he died a decade ago. The house is gorgeous! The downstairs space is especially wonderful. Waving from NB 🇨🇦!

Alexandra, the BEST part of this makeover was your parents' response. You can hear how proud they are of you and what you've achieved. Their exclamations tho! Your Dad is too precious and Mum can't stop saying "I love it!" You've done a fabulous job in every room. Congratulations TEAM AG 😍

This series was incredibly satisfying, especially seeing your parents' reactions. The design was brilliant in conception and execution, with the help of Team AG, particularly the genius of Graham! I would like to see you complete the rest of the house, especially a kitchen update, and a sprucing up of the master bedroom, and the bathroom. Your talent is amazing, and your parents' pride shows! My very traditional/conservative dad surprised us all when he got to choose a colour for the entrance hall and picked like a Barbie pink. We were even more surprised when it looked good with the dark wood.

Love the makeover! It would be so lovely to see a series of makeovers for people who live under the poverty level. Something as bold as an entire apartment/home with up-cycled furniture/items etc. to help stretch the budget. That would be something truly life changing for a person who has struggled to get by. I'm sure the social safety nets are much better in Canada but in the U.S. it's rough.

Even where I live in Mexico, the costs of housing, food, utilities are rising. We are living simply and happy with that, but still concerned about the future for humankind…

I had tears in my eyes when you showed your parents the house. Your mothers reactions were so sweet. I love your dad’s enthusiasm. First, I just want to say I absolutely love your content. I watch religiously every Saturday. This video part 4 of the series was hands down my favorite. Your parent’s reactions were priceless. I got teary eyed watching. Great job.

Your book does not disappoint. Even though I live in federal housing and am so limited as to what decorating I can do, I am glad I bought your book. Alexandra's parents are adorable and they must now finally really, really understand how much Good ripples out from Team AG design makeovers. I imagine that after the (awesome) team has gone home, Alexandra's parents will just sit in the rooms, marveling at the stunning changes, and at how talented "their little girl" is❣️

Such a nice thing to have done for your mom and dad. I love how the ceiling was different in the guest bedroom, and the color continued down the wall. You lightened up the entryway and hallway, took care of the shoe problem, and opened the living room to be an incredibly inviting space. The dining room was gorgeous. Good job. I've been watching quite a few of your videos lately and have found the inspiration I needed to pay attention to my own area. 💗

Your parents are so encouraging. What a lovely warm couple to give you a start in life.

Beautiful work downstairs! You added pops of pink that you said your mom would appreciate. Although, I will say, I found it strange that your mom sent you a photo of a gorgeous green ceiling she liked but you chose pink again 🤔😬 the green was beautiful and I think it would've been great in that room.

I think we can safely say that this was a huge success and your parents are very proud. Great transformation team.

What an incredible difference! The whole place is so much lighter, brighter and airy. I also may have shed a tear at Alexandra getting emotional at her parents reaction - one of the sweetest reveals ever. 🥲 Great job AG and team! What a beautiful home to come back to. P.s. Alexandra and team came through and really hit this one out of the park. Mom seems to be the “no nonsense”type and would have shared her disapproval had there been but she genuinely seems pleased and happy. You can tell by how surprised Alex was at her reactions. They’re getting to know each other better through this renovation. Dad on the other hand could have walked into the home with it looking exactly as it was before the work started and would have only had compliments and kind words for his daughter, which warms my heart. He is such a great daddy and loves is baby girl no matter and will protect her feelings at all cost! What a wonderful man and such beautiful sentiment. It's hard to pick one room, they are all amazing. The living room initially look small but now it looks bigger, comfortable yet sophisticated. The color pallet and quirky details makes for a unique house, job well done.

What a fabulous series Alexandra and team. I am full of hope for the future watching your work modelling your mix of business aesthetic and sheer goodwill and generosity. I loved the gifting of your energies and the modest purchases and diy efforts. Watching this series has been pure delight. Alexandra had a level of ease beyond other makeovers creating this space and her parents response was the absolute best! Loved every second.

Well done. Your reno really lifted their home to a fresh new look. And the parental pride was lovely. I actually teared up!

What a wonderful transformation for your parents. You can tell they are so proud of you. Can't wait for the next series. Would you consider an outdoor space?

A tip about mixing patterns is; you use different patterns in different scales. Like you could use a stripe pattern in a larger scale, along with a smaller scale stripe pattern.( like a pin stripe scale size). And they will work together fine. I do this with florals as well. When showing these differences in scales to a client, I would show scale by using my hand wide open for a larger scale, compared to a smaller scale the size of my fist. This designer tip is quite easy to use. Then if you keep repeating a few of the same colors, it feels more cohesive. Working together fine. Try it.

Wow. Perfection. The bedroom fabrications… and ceiling and picture placement and that dresser etc… Wow. You have such a great eye for how to texture eclectically and make it seem unforced and evolved over time. That’s a natural talent. Amazing. And that twist… scalloped hem on the barn door?!! Amazing. Loved the carpet for the entry way, ties it all together. And that little arched cove is precisely the type of architectural detail - plus the original door - that makes so much of an impact on the brain!! ❤
