    Been watching you since I started playing poker a few months ago. Just played my first tournament yesterday. Simple $55 buy in and ended up making it to the last table and got 5th place.     Yes in the end. The first runout the last card was a 4 giving the narrator the wringing hand of 3 of a kind against a two pair The second runout the last card was an ace giving the other guy a full house (AAA77) and beating the 3 of a kind

    Lol he's a husky dude, I've seen him play on HCL a few times now, he's got a stomach but you can tell there's a good deal of muscle underneath. Looks like the type that lifts weight but also enjoys his food. Definitely a loose aggressive player, that likes putting his opponents to the test, good for the game.

    If he ran it once and the river was an A and he got scooped for this $40,000 pot then everyone in the comments would be saying "omg why didn't you run it twice, then you wouldn't have lost the whole pot." Everyone's just so results oriented that whatever he did would've been the wrong thing as long as the results were bad.

The result doesn't decide whether it was a good decision or not. Because he ran it twice and would have won the whole pot if he ran it once doesn't make him an idiot for running it twice, doesn't make running it twice "always bad" etc.

He wasn’t holding a different 2nd card that the board would pair with to get a full house or a straight or anything. Pretty much the only thing that could help him was the last 3 to come out to give him quads. This situation was bad to run it twice and it showed why in the end

It doesn't matter if your hand value goes up or down, as long as it stays better than your opponent's. The only thing that running it twice does is bring the actual result closer to the expected result. It doesn't make you win or lose more money on average.
