Eventually Natsuki is just gonna get a straight-up Like A Dragon intro. Black and white freeze frame and everything whilst riding a motorbike through a sewer while working a huge pipe.
Natsuki truly is a genius. The way he expresses himself is simple yet immeasurably deep. He may be the closest thing to an Oracle we have.

It's unfortunate but the algorithm basically assesses if the video has broad appeal (pun not intended), and if so it'll throw the video at everyone and their Mum. But if the topic is a bit niche, or has less clicks it doesn't bother. It's a constant battle these days! That's why everyone has to resort to twatty clickbait titles/topics and thumbnails.

As a long time viewer, the progress of the channel's production and cinematography is amazing, yes. But what gets me is the music; Chris has always picked amazing music for his videos, and it is a surprisingly warm and nostalgic feeling when he uses music that reminds me of an older video that I love. Is it just me? I keep rewatching his videos, can't help it. Thank you for the amazing content, Chris!

As a huge fan of classic rock and 80's pop I couldn't agree more, music is a huge part of filmmaking and Chris always picks great tracks and has a simplistic but classic and very effective style with his use of sound effects.

Amazing cinematography. Chris have really learned it through his years as filmmaker. The part where Joey jumps through the ice and goes “Aah yeah m8 it’s fuckin cold” had me dying of laughter for some reason. Him doing “proper aussie” always cracks me up.

Not me imagining a full backstory for this incredible intro. It's basically Natsuki learning by casualty about this trip and deciding to eliminate all the possible contenders to his spot, because of course he really wanted to go. Him actually being invited saved Ryotaro’s life, who just wanted to enjoy those gummy bears and now have a window to pay for and huge paranoia for at least some months. Yes, I'm weird don't judge me. 😂

Pete is a 10/10 addition to the Journey Across Japan Cinematic Universe!
I was in Eastern Hokkaido about a week before you went. I was kinda nervous about driving in winter conditions being that it was my first time and that I'm from Hawaii. Never the less, it was an epic solo journey around Kushiro, the Notsuke Peninsula, Nemuro and the major lakes of the region. Some of the most epic scenery that I've seen!
Really fun watching Pete stream the whole thing and super interesting to see how all the scenes stitched and edited together with the great camera work!

Cool to see Japan having Ice houses! You guys should visit Norwegian/Finnish/Swedish ice hotels / towns and compare them if you enjoyed this venture!
The ONLY bad thing about this series is always wanting another episode right after. Definitely looking forward to the behind the scenes

Yes! A perfect watch after a long workday. The production value was great (Chris is somehow improving with each series)- and everyone looked like they were having an awesome adventure. These had better do well! Journey across japan is a favorite series and I can't wait to see more of them.
I hope the tradition of Dr. Jelly is gonna stay alive for one of the later episodes! This one was great so far, can't wait for the rest!

Chris you're killing it. These videos always have me craving a third trip back to Japan. Question for you: when the four of you hang out off camera between shoots, do you guys all speak Japanese for Natsuki's sake, or do you keep it English to help him learn more of it?
The cinematography on this is amazing, you truly captured the beauty of this cold part of Japan.
Japan needs to make Chris its Travel ambassador, he's shown people every squared inch of Japan in the best possible way that most may never see it.

Same, honestly I just get more excited every year since at this point there's a layer of nostalgy under the excitement as well. One of the best channels on youtube.
Notice how well Chris captures his friends- from the unnatural close-ups, to catching their reactions and firsts on camera, and reccently (to my delight)- turning them into blockbuster protagonists...You guys really are the best❤😂
This was simply brilliant. I loved that Ryotaro cameo. The cinematic take made me question if Chris has taken any film studies classes. The whole crew did an amazing job to shape this video. Having watched Pete's BTS Twitch streams of the filming of this, it's amazing (and completely unsurprising of course) how much work went into this and all of the other projects on the channel. Awesome video and great to see the polished version!

Natsuki's Sauna Finland was very heartwarming momento! Hokkaido seems so similar with Lapland of Finland. But congrats for whole team with Winter spirit and endurance! Cold weather requires its own mentality.
The amount of sheer, unadulterated joy this series brings me... indescribable. I almost feel like I'm actually there hanging out with everyone!
This must be the first time I went somewhere in Japan before Chris made a video on it, but it was an amazing experience filled with amazing people , I think this side of the far north is worth it

Ok, couldn't stop myself from waiting for the full journey to be uploaded. Also can't shake the feeling that Chris is trying to complete a map of sorts. First he wants to visit everything, now he wants to get all the most extreme cardinal directions. It's like a game of Risk and Chris pulled some very specific goals to win.

A fun episode as always! I love how strange the intro was lol. That ice village is amazing in so many ways cause not only is it impressive and pretty but there's also the fact that they rebuild it every year. The doggos are cute!! Looking forward to the next episode!
Awesome start to a new Journey across Japan season! I was so excited when the trailer launched. I can't imagine how cold it must have been. As always the video is a really entertaining content mix of amazing landscape shots, fun activities, mouthwatering food and a nice accommodation :)
The quality of that opening is wild lol. The cinematography is on point. This channel is probably the highest caliber of stuff on YT imo lol
I live in Obihiro and have ridden the dog sled and been to Tomamu's ice village. Thank you for showcasing central Hokkaido and it's wonderful things here. I would suggest coming in summer as everything starts to grow. Nature here understands it's time for spring and summer are lessened so it grows like it's on steroids! Also it's and its a wonderful season for adventure outings like canoeing, zip-lines and camping! You have endless content for videos in the summer.
