I spring swapped all six RAW switches, and the result was pretty surprising | Raw comparison pt. 2!

Ғылым және технология

TO LAUGH OR NOT TO LAUGH? THAT IS THE QUESTION...
-
As promised, the lubed and spring swapped comparisons of all six RAW switches: BSUN, Gateron, Haimu, Huano, Keygeek, and Tecsee! Comparisons to stock are at the end of each sound test. I was a bit surprised at how little the spring swap affected the overall sound of the switches, but at least we have a slightly larger dataset to be able to adequately compare the different manufacturers! Let me know what you think in the comments below! Once again, you can most likely pick these up at your favorite local vendor, but I'll link Geon's webstore so you can check the specs for yourself :)

The Dad joke's are perfect! These switches seem like wuque m&m and cream+. They Don't really provide anything anyone's actually looking for! I've been here since a few hundred subscribers and am so glad a person like this exists on KZread. He's the reason I tried KTT monochrome onyx. I have searched for my "favorite" tactile switch for years. It wasn't until he suggested using Sprint slow spring's that I finally realized that between 65g extreme 3 and 5 and 63.5g extreme 3 like he's using, that the spring weight is 90% of shady makes a tactile switches personality. Corsa's, sp-star Polaris purple, and KTT monochrome onyx were all pretty good but not endgame to go in my QK75. Swapped in 65g extreme 3 and 5 into them and suddenly you realize you now have full control of the "tactility" of your switch. Anyways that's my autistic essay for this evening apologies if it hurt to read that much! I'm just very thankful for finding this channel.

Great vid. I recently got my hands on the BSUN Raw and signature BSUN cream/marbly sound is so addicting. Their price point at $0.48 USD makes them that much better. I am also using the Sarokeys Strawberry Wine which is like the Raw, but with their POM top housing. Great switches!

I feel like the Tecsee RAW was the most improved after lubing, though I'd probably go with the Gateron RAW. They've been firing on all cylinders these days.

Seems like these don't have the effect the manu's wanted? Like m&m and cream+. I am so in love with the spirit extreme 3 and 5 in 65g & 63.5g in extreme 3. Believe the hype, the springs have done more to affect the way a switch feels than any other modification you can possibly do! If you like the tactility of a switch but it's too light or heavy. Definitely don't sleep on spring swapping like I did for almost 2 years! Thanks again for your great content! Hooking up a friend with a full size gmmk with polia's and t1's for his "starter board". I hope he appreciates having such rare switches. I'm throwing in some speed silver's, purple's, and some KTT halu halo for the alpha's. If that doesn't let him know what his preferences I don't know if he has one?

  • @MrJibJub13

i think one big thing to the sound of a switch is how thick the plastic is. i find tescee and bsun to have a thicker mold then others. i think cherry also has a thicker mold but the mixture they use has them on the higher pitch. to me bsun or tescee is the winner in this collection.

Pretty interesting. I think I prefer BSUN and Gateron. Have you tried the Gateron Luciola switches? Glow in the dark is kinda fun but the sound is very much like the rattle ball in a spray paint can. I only did light lubing on the stem and springs because they lose their unique sound when everything is lubed up.

Honestly, the Ajazz Huano switches are good but similar to their RAW switch, they aren't spectacular or bring anything significantly new at this point. I run spring swapped Peaches on my preferred board for gaming and they are fairly similar to other good PC top & bottom housing switches. They do not come factory lubed so do benefit quite a bit from hand lubing. If you like lighter springs, then these are definite a great choice... they were too light for me in stock config so I went to a 45g spring.

@@MakerMods I learned from another user that the stem is slightly longer with travel distance of 3.7mm vs the yellow's 4.0mm. Also the top housing on the Raw is pc while the yellow is a blend. Thanks for the response btw
