Shayne’s depth as a human is what made me enjoy Smosh more… I remember them showing up at his apartment one time and seeing how well read he is. As someone else who LOVES reading and thinks it, more than anything else, can develop a person, that was nice to see :) he’s genuine, intelligent, and over the top absurd. Love him!

Shayne, Courtney, and Ian really are what I think kept Smosh together when times got tough. It's so nice to see Shayne getting the praise he deserves for all he's done. I honestly don't know if Smosh would've made it without him.

I don't know if you saw it in the Roasting with Memes video on Smosh, but someone at smosh (can't remember who) made a meme that was "Smosh at 100% power" and it was the whole cast, and then "Smosh at 90% power" and everyone was cropped out except for Shayne. Obviously I think that's a little hyperbolic, but I don't think it's a stretch at all to say that Shayne absolutely carries Smosh on his back, or at least during their darker times. I love the entire cast, but Shayne is undeniably so talented at making memorable characters, and he's just absolutely hilarious. Some of Smosh's most famous bits/characters come from Shayne.

I almost teared up when Anthony at the end says that Shayne has kept the true meaning of Smosh there all along by just having fun with friends on camera. It's so true and that's what makes Smosh so special. Especially the cast now. You can see how close everyone is with each other and from Ian and Anthony to Chance and Angela. (the newest cast members) Everyone just puts a big smile on my face!

I've loved seeing Chanse, Angela, Amanda, and Arasha bond with the older cast. Shayne and Amanda have become SO close, and I think Chanse and Damien really play so well off each other. Angela and Courtney are so much fun to watch together (like today's Reddit stories!) and I love seeing Arasha and Ian play off each other (and I hope we get to see a lot more, they're both so deadpan and I love it). I think Shayne and Damien, Courtney and Olivia, and Keith and Noah kind of started that trend (after Ian and Anthony, of course) of people being besties on Smosh

shayne was the first person i gravitated towards when i went back to smosh after anthony left, and it's been so cool to watch him grow into a pillar of smosh. he's such an incredible performer, love seeing what he does now & excited to see what he does as his career continues!

I wasn't aware of Smosh back in the day (something about not wanting to do popular stuff as a teenager 😂). Shayne was the reason I got into Smosh last year. His charisma just pulled me in.

I’m glad that Shayne is getting some flowers. He’s clearly a comedy powerhouse, and very hardworking and loyal, but he also just seems like a genuinely kind person. I’m sure success will find him whatever he gets up to, but I’m glad it’s Smosh right now :)

Shayne is so right about his physicality when it comes to the impressions he does. It’s just as important as sounding like the person. Also, so glad he’s stuck through all of those lows. He truly has been the face of Smosh for a whole new generation of people and that kind of pressure is intense.

These people carried Smosh through it's darkest times but they were so underappreciated because people were blinded with nostalgia of old Smosh. I don’t know if Shayne was holding back tears but when he was speaking it really made me cry. Like… I remember that scene of the office when Jim says that the documentary people gave them the blessing of being able to actually look back into their lives. And we can see all that with Shayne, Anthony, and the rest of the Smosh crew. They’re all incredible people and it’s awesome to see how far they have all grown.

Watching Anthony absolutely lose it during Shayne's Tom Cruise impersonation was insanely hilarious. You can tell that Anthony legitimately loves Shayne, it's so wholesome!

I agree that if Shayne left, it would be on par with Anthony leaving. Especially if you compare the audience's attachment to them. I can say, for me personally, I am much more attached to Shayne now than I was to Anthony back then, but I didn't watch Smosh that much leading up to that. But others did. And realistically, Anthony being part of the duo certainly had more of a potent impact. Shayne and Courtney feel like the consistent two of the cast over the last 6 years. We saw them way more than Ian. So, if either of them left, I'd be pretty upset.

I respect everything that Shane has done (as he is my favorite cast member), he is a multi talented individual that has brought so much to Smosh & has helped kept it alive alongside Courtney & Ian. Not trying to discredit the other team members who have helped with keeping the channel alive of course but I feel like having those 3 people at the forefront and all the sacrifices they made have paid off in a big way.

After finding out Spencer has been at smoth for 10 years I kinda want to see an interview of him next.

Thank you for bringing Shayne to the show. He is such a funny person to me. Smosh in general has my heart to make my day better or even better and Shayne adds that spark to it. His laugh, his characters. His own self is so amazing! Love you Shayne!

Ian and Anthony are the parents of Main but Pit and Games are Shayne’s babies. He really carried those channels for so long, my respect for him grew so much during the pandemic. Woo Shayne, Shayne it up!

I love that if Shayne hadn't stayed with acting, he would've wanted to be a therapist. He definitely gives off those vibes in those reddit stories - so good at navigating people's conflicts, while also being light hearted and humorous. I'm a relatively new smosh fan and WOW do I love Shayne and the whole cast. I feel so lucky to have discovered this just as Anthony was coming back, and it's so heartwarming to see how much people appreciate him there. Excited for the live tonight, and all the new content!!

Hearing Anthony give Shayne his flowers about his contribution to Smosh made me so emotional. He has done so much for Smosh and it's viewers, and it's so good to hear him be recognized for it.

Welp Anthony better bring Shayne and Courtney again after the recent event Although he knew already

I love this era of smosh. Smosh has been pretty transparent and communicative towards fans and seeing all the ups and downs of the company makes this moment much more sweeter. We're now honoring Smosh for everything they've done. and seeing how they've become a giant family warms my heart. What a time to be alive.

So, on my way into where I volunteer/where my mom works, we read/listen to AITA stories. We recently found the Smosh AITA stories that Shayne reads and we LOVE him!!!! Oh my goodness!!! It makes us so happy that Shayne is as wonderful as he is. I’m glad there are people with such high moral standards in the media. You know? ❤️

I don’t think Shayne realizes how important he has been to the fabric of Smosh. I started watching Smosh about two months before Anthony left, so I only really know “post-Anthony” Smosh. Shayne has easily become one of the most important members of Smosh, and seeing him in videos makes it go to another level. It’s so great to see him get to talk about his experiences as though he is a valued member, and it’s been so great to see how involved he has been on and off camera.

For those who haven't noticed, the extra gravy that makes Shayne's Tom Cruise impression seem so uncanny is that he shares Cruise's centre front tooth. Love Shayne. I really think he's one of my favourite entertainers on this platform. I'd like to think he'd make a good friend.

The Chosen and Courtney Freaking Miller are two absolutely amazing characters, and I get so excited every time I see them on screen ❤

If Anthony and Ian are the kings of Smosh. Shayne and Courtney are the pillars that have held it up.

I agree that they are more than likely the most favorite female/male members of the cast but I'd argue that the entire cast/crew are the real pillars.

The many times that I’ve desperately needed a laugh during hard times, I would go to any video with Shayne and Courtney. Their characters and humor really helped me out when I needed it and I cannot say enough about how much i appreciate them.

I gotta say that 'Tom Cruise is my roommate' is still one of my all time favorite Smosh videos, largely thanks to Shayne's performance!

Shayne is honestly such a smart, fun and caring guy. Honestly, hes my favourite person on Smosh, both for just him as a human being and all the characters he does.

The one thing that I love most about you Anthony is your emotional intelligence or empathy. Your way of communication and way of feeling through every emotion within the room resonates with me and I'm glad that over the last 10 years of watching Smosh, this is the person you've become whom I've witnessed. I already commented about Shayne on this video and he's amazing in so many different ways but I just felt like this characteristic of yours is not appreciated nearly enough so I wanted to tell you in case you read this. Shayne is the one entertainer I personally always gravitate toward. I think he was born for this job, and I truly believe Smosh wouldn't be the same without him. I could listen to him do impressions, make up characters, or laugh at himself for hours. And on top of being immensely funny and able to make a whole room laugh so naturally, you can see he is just a very intelligent and sensible person. In Reddit stories and whenever he talks about his personal experiences on podcasts or other occasions, you can see he expresses himself very well and is a very kind person. I remember Shayne from "So Random". Him and Damien. Childhood memories 😂.

Shayne definitely has and is my favorite smosh member. Him and Spencer especially have really helped me during the the time in my life where the verbal and physical abuse from my father got progressively more violent and frequent. Thanks man, hopefully you see this. Welcome back Anthony. You being back brings back the good memories I had with my brother before he unfortunately abandoned us and he lost himself in his own depression and addiction. Sap story is over. If you read this, thanks I guess?

i think anthony articulated it perfectly, beyond ‘old smosh’ and ‘new smosh’ there’s really just one core part of the brand that keeps it afloat and so entertaining which is the magic of them just wanting to make their friend(s) laugh. shayne truly has been a key player in keeping that alive, you can tell it’s truly a company built on mutual respect, adoration, and family

You can tell how genuinely happy Shayne is for Anthony to be back

Shane is just so incredible, this man is just so special and I can hardly even find words to describe how much I understand what he says. We all love Shane and are so proud of EVERYTHING he has done. Meeting him is a dream for him and it will happen one day.

The bottom line is that BOTH of y’all are so funny…cuz you’re both so smart!! And have so much empathy - from your characters (cuz even Anthony in sketches is a character) to your fellow castmates!! ❤ love this

30 videos a week is insane. the fact that almost no one comments on how tired he looks or seems on all those videos is a miracle considering all of that! im proud of shayne for slowly improving on setting boundaries and caring for himself. i also didnt know he moved to LA when he was only 16!! the fact that he is such a well rounded, grounded human being is amazing and i hope over time he comes to believe in himself more 💛 also creating such memorable, quotable characters is a skill that not many have. the fact that shayne has so many is a testament to the talent he has and the hard work he puts in

smosh is SUCH a light in so many lives. i have been watching throughout so many eras and ive never been disappointed. LOVE love love the smosh cast and crew!!

It makes sense re: enjoying when people love your characters. Its your art, sharing your art with people feels SO VULNERABLE, and it's wonderful when they respond positively.

Yeah, I relate to that with my programming and my writing. When I code up a game that people like, or when I write a poem or story people give positive feedback on, it means so much more to me than if people just tell me they like me. Because it's like, everyone has someone who likes them, but this is *something I made* and there's no guarantee it's any good. To find out it is, and that the thing you made brought joy to someone else, is an amazing feeling.

Man, I freaking love Shayne. He's so wholesome and extremely talented.

While of course the others contributed to Smosh after Anthony left, it’s undeniable that Shayne is the main reason Smosh didn’t go under. Without Shayne’s iconic characters, over the Topp humor, and over all good vibes Smosh would never of been able to continue. For Shayne to have such self doubt and be so humble is such a feat and he deserves the respect and credit he’s given. I wonder if he truly can’t see his worth? Just his laugh in the background of videos gets more attention than anything else done in them. And this isn’t to hate on the other cast. I enjoy most of them. Just an outside observation of the sheer numbers his presence alone makes. I think it’s was Tommy’s roast when he said “I hope they add Shayne to the thumbnail so people actually watch” Angela has mentioned since she’s started “Shayne’s impact” especially on the video her and Amanda do together where they are seeking his approval when he’s behind camera. I know it might be awkward for him to acknowledge. But as an outside viewer who’s watched for about 4 or 5 years. Shayne is the face I associate with Smosh. More than even Ian and Anthony.

I actually really love shayne, he's a really amazing guy, he's funny, chill, and I wouldn't want him to be out of the smosh picture. Feels like people such as myself can relate to him, lovely chap

Shayne's talent is unbelievable. There are people who can act, there are people who can be funny, there are people that can be youtubers. People who can do just one of these are rare enough... Shayne is the whole package and does it while being genuine and likeable.

Shayne is such a big, impactful reason of why I kept watching Smosh over the years that Anthony left. I’ve been watching Smosh since the early Ian and Anthony days, and the transition to different phases of the brand has been more seamless with Shayne on board. Thanks for the interview Anthony, and to Shayne for accepting! He does a great job with characters but it’s always nice to see the IRL version of him. Must be why his Reddit story series is such a refreshing part of the channel! Good luck tonight with the roasts, you guys will kill it!!

There were definitely times I watched Smosh just for Shayne!

I'm so happy anthony is back but he's still doing this channel. I was a fan when they were together, I was a fan while they were apart. His creativity and rapport with Ian and the connection with the current cast is so genuine and positive. I love seeing these informational and interesting topics but having him back together with his childhood friend is so happy

being able to watch shayne grow into the man he is today is just wild. the most humble, down to earth and absolutely fucking hilarious person. i love that he studied psychology and mentions wanting to be a therapist. we need more people that care about people in media. glad hes getting the recognition he deserves! 🥳

It's so funny to hear Anthony talk about dealing with the EXACT same backlash (to a smaller degree) when he came back that Shayne did when he came on. Just goes to show that you really have to ignore the outrage and just do the work. If the work is good, the results will speak for themselves. Smosh has been through such a wild ride that never needed to be as rough as it was, but it's amazing to see that the company is probably stronger now than it's ever been.

Shayne has always been a favorite of mine at Smosh for his meta humor. He is thinks outside of the box of traditional comedy, has several amazing returning bits, and is one of six internet Chads that actually give the term a good name.

The Smosh cast is such a great cast. I was a Smosh fan before them, but they have become some of my favorite internet personalities. Especially Shayne.

I love this conversation between these two. Glad to have been around for this buy back. I fell off shortly before Anthony left, and came back right before he rejoined. Great times to be around. Here's to wishing for your success

Shayne has so much contribution to shaping Smosh into what it has become today, it's amazing. But truly beyond Smosh also, he's amazing!

I was waiting for this episode, Shayne is such a charismatic guy but seems very down to Earth and is an important part of Smosh surviving through the hard times.

I've been watching Smosh for about 6mos to a year. I'm a 49 year old mom and my 21 year old daughter introduced me to you guys. I love how much fun you obviously have. And we love Shayne. He is hilarious and his characters are so awesome. My favorite is the Chosen. That character is every dorky kid living and gaming in mom and dad's basement, eating funyuns and drinking mt dew. Then going out into the world trying to be cool. Love him! ❤
