I SPENT $850 ON SURPLUS FROM THE CANADIAN ARMY

I bought a pallet of clothing and equipment from the Canadian military just so that we could go through it together and look for treasures.
This isn't the most serious video I have ever made but I did have a lot of fun making. Grab a drink, get comfortable, I hope you enjoy it.

@@TheSegui That's kind of dumb. It's unfit for service because there was a change in uniform or failed to meet requirements of new military standards. It's still perfectly good for a civilian to use. Waste not want not and recoup some of that spent tax money.

I had a few military duffle bags. Mine were not those kind you zip up. The end opens up, where you put everything in it. There were hole rings on the end with a long narrow ring you put through the hole rings to close it and you clip it with the carabiner clip on the end of the shoulder strap, used to carry the bag over your shoulder. I had a black bag and "army green" bag made of good canvas and another "army green" bag made with this plastic-like material, which can rip much easier than the canvas ones. I still have the black canvas one. I love those bags!

I turned in two pairs of newly issued boots that I hadn’t even worn once. The stores guy used a hole punch and punched out a single hole in the top of the tongues on each boot and they were thrown in the surplus bin. So you can sometimes get very lucky with “used” surplus kit.

Some old wore out iron goes for big bucks, then some real gems go for cheap. I saw a '79ish Chevy 3500 fire truck with like 3000 miles go for cheap. So you must not have been in super long, or done any office work with in the CAF ( sometimes to get a promotion you gotta do it) but women in all branches of the CAF could be issued maternity dress, thats where the blouse and strechy pants come from. Its all in the dress regs manual
