As a digital artist I can't even imagine the anxiety of not being able to make a single mistake. No CTRL + Z. You are the real hero.

Yes! This is a big thing i have had to overcome. I have simply gotten used to accepting however it turns out and just keep on going, But yeah i have done mistakes in the past when im carving and it hurts!
It is 5AM where I am. I have been awake since two o clock, and can’t sleep. My partner and I have been working on a complex craft project together for a big event, and I spent the whole of yesterday working, while feeling like I was getting very little done... Thank you for the reminder to look after my mental health, and to not work myself to the bone. Even with all of your struggles, you’re still an example to the people who watch your work. Thank you, and best of luck on your camping trips. I hope you get to enjoy sleeping under a clear, starry sky soon.

@@paul-up3ul Awww, sweetie... Are you okay? Did someone have a rough day? I'm not mad at you. If you want to vent about it, I'm here to talk.
Jonas, you are a gifted artist, carver and woodworker. Thank you for your openness in sharing who you are and where you are it, it is courageous and is good for everyone who hears it.
This looks like that bear climbed Thranduil's throne in the Woodland Realm (Tolkien World), and made itself at home 😂 This is beautiful!

Thank you! I find that it helps to focus on one arena of life at a time. I have my art wich means a lot to me, But on the days my head is a bit foggy i stick to my regular running program. I am improving slowly and steadily and i finally feel like i have found a way that works. much luck to your endeavours.
I enjoy multiple part videos personally. Especially if the project is big or detailed. Just keep on doing your thing and people will be drawn to it more and more.
Yes - do a video dedicated to just the designing phase. Your work & creations are fantastic !!!!
Jonas, it's refreshing to hear your trial and tribulations during your carvings. It's as if you heard me during mine. Learning as you go and gaining knowledge off each project. Just something I do with cracked areas I come across. I apply some of the finishing oil in that area to keep it from disintegrating as I work in that area. Keep sending out your beautiful work.
The color of that wood is truly something else! Your exhibit is going to be amazing!!!

Thank you!
the art in it, and the bear is so sweet, thank you
2:24 I first thought that mouse fella was in a coffee mug. I think he would look absolutely lovely peering out of a mug with such a happy expression. I love how the roots end down at the bottom. I can relate with your struggles. I've been burned out for quite a while now. I'm hoping that I can start exercising a bit to get some more energy, but right now just basic necessities of life are sometimes too much. Funnily enough I'm able to work, at least most days most of the work day, but it is draining. Then again, everything else is as well. Even after my work tasks have been revamped so it no longer produces overtime and the work is, to be frank, trivially easy for me, getting better is still something that doesn't feel like a certainty. I spent 3.5 months at home, the first 2 weeks were hell, and I am better though there's still quite a mountain to climb. Barely get any woodworking done. So where you are right now, to me it sounds positive. Keep on fighting man! (in the way that's not an actual struggle but a steady sustainable growth as not to burn out again and remember to be forgiving to yourself. Healing from burnout is a slow process and being cruel and abusive to yourself is the opposite of productive. You're just a man after all. A very talented, handsome man, no homo
Gorgeous! When you revealed the stained finish, I gasped!
I have so much respect for people who are talented enough to turn a block of wood into something so unique and beautiful, you did an awesome and I just subscribed so I can see this all the time 😊
Your sketches are incredible!!!
I used to be a ceramics artist and I have never done a huge project like the ones that you do . I love doing small detail work but this bear is very cute and I think you are an amazing wood craftsman, I have seen a few of your projects as I am a new subscriber. I'm sure that your work demands long hours into days or weeks. Again you are so amazing. I can't wait to see more of your artwork. Thank you for sharing your artwork ❤😊

Thank you so much!
I really like the description of your inner-personal process as it relates to your work and of course the jokes are great! Today I’m starting work on a sculpture using a thin 1.5 meter long slab of black walnut that has three burls on one side. It will be displayed upright and detailed on both sides. I’m starting with hollowing out the burls into bowel shaped depressions. The natural side with the burls will have gem stones and sterling silver inlay. You Inspired me to initiate this today, thank you!! 🎉
I like your perspective and sense of humor.
Thank you for making your videos for all to watch! Awesome!!!❤

I am very happy to share my creative process!
I am proud of your growth in this. My summer goal is a much needed surgery, and recovery.
Beautiful. I can't emagine how much practice it takes to become that good. And I suppose it's not way's end yet for many thousands of hours.
Stunning workmanship. Well done
Thank you for sharing your process! I carve with knives and chisels, but I still learn a lot from watching your process, as the stepps are really the same, just propably a lot, lot slower :D Its really just a hobby for me at the moment, a different creative outlet an new skill to learn. but the mor I do, the better I get and the more other carvers I see... the more I'd like to one day be able to carve my characters like that. Just beautiful work!
Thank you for making this video and being so open about your own struggles.
Wow !! This is beautiful !
I love watching these calming videos, they really help me with managing anxiety and stress in my daily life, so thank you, genuinely

This is so beautiful. I loved every single one of you sculptures so far, and this one just as much if not more. When I saw the finished, oiled bear, I actually teared up a bit. Thank you for your art, your videos and for you. You are amazing!
The bear makes me smile. Most of your drawings in your sketchbook too. The mouse makes me smile big time. The bear is soooo cozy and fun to look at. I like how you make them look. Them are confident and satisfied it seems. Heya, I wear one of your t shirts today.. hugs from bohemian forest.
I’m collecting 🧸 and see your video because of the cute little bear. This is amazing..love this sculpture very much but the other things in your sketchbook look also amazing.
It turned out so great! I love the bear's little face
Excellent work. Empathetic to your life challenges. God bless you Jonas.
Came home from work today (sunday) after working 7 days out of 7. Tired, body aching and just wanted to sit down and relax. Saw the title of your video and decided to watch. I have to say - On your part, that was 30 days well spent. On my part, that was 12 minutes well spent. Another nice one 🙂👍
Not just an AMAZING sculpture but an Amazing artist as well. 💜
Absolutely Beautiful!!!
That has to be the cutest sculpture I have ever seen. Nicely done!
This art form, this love expression, will never die. Humanity might go different ways, but this level of art will never cease to exist, it exists since the dawn of humanity ❤
The sculpture is beautiful. Well done, and will look forward to seeing the next one.
This is so beautiful! The level of detail is stunning!
I have nothing but admiration
I love watching your carving videos. Your end results are always beautiful. And this sleeping bear is so wonderful!
Love your videos... Your sense of humor touches my heart Almost as much as your finished artwork
Wow, this sculpture is so beautiful. 😍😍😍😍😍😍 I love it so much ❤❤❤
Amazing work - love it!
Your skills are on another level!!! Absolutely amazing!! 👏😁
I got 2 pendants a few weeks ago. They are so beautiful. ❤ I will post it on Instagram at the end of the month because it's an anniversary gift. You are so talented and I love your work and videos ❤
your drawings are amazing !! i could not choose the right one to carve
Greaaaaaat 😍 I've been watching this three times. Love your work
Beautiful work Jonas! It's a lucky artist that can make a living just from their art but wanting a simple life helps. I think the best art comes from nature so spending time outside can only inspire! Good luck with your goals and looking forward to the next fabulous piece!
I love all your work is beautiful and I glad you found your happy medium between life and work, looking forward to the next project.
Oh nice Jonas! Always a delight to see how the sculpture is bjorn..

Nature is my favorite medicine.🌿 You do what you need to do, time is precious and we must make the best of every minute. Love this bear sculpture, what a cutie. I wish I could buy a wolf, I'm obsessed!🐺 Just being outside in nature is my main goal this summer☀
The bear is so cute, it looks so comfy! 😄 Yet another amazing sculpture! 💖
Another beautiful piece 🫡
Jonas, I've been a fan of your work (and videos) for quite a while now. You give me good inspiration for my carving work. Beautiful work!
Beautiful is all I have to say. And may you find the peace your needing in life.
Jonas, I think your designs alone are a work of art. When I work, in my humble way, I do not create such detailed designs because I like to think the piece of wood I'm working on already has the finished work within it. I simply release it. I love that people work in different ways and that the only thing that truly matters is the desire to create. I love your work and I'm learning a lot from your videos. Thank you. 👍
Thank you so much for brining us another amazing sculpture! Honestly, I think it’s my favorite of the whole series so far, but I’m definitely looking forward to seeing the next one. As for the design videos, I'd really like seeing something like that, but it’s up to you.
this is stunning piece of art , love it ...... keep going , Im looking forward to your next project...... Log is huge !
Great video. Interesting side note, on my hundred acre farm (east coast USA), we have many walnut trees. They drop green husks all over the place…as in all over ack. I used to have my kids collect some so we could dry and eat the nuts inside. They’d get very stained hands lol. So many we then started burning them. The old timer I got the place from even turned one tree into a sap collector for making syrup (which haven’t tried doing). Every now and then, a big spring wind knocks one down and I’ll cut it up and put it in a drying barn for firewood. Yup. : ) most spectacular colors! Maroons and purples. Very very colorful. Found a local wood working group and I let em haul away pieces. Every time I’d chop a round for fire wood I kept going man, this looks so beautiful it needs a better life than my fireplaces.

Thanks for the story! Yeah it is crazy how much beautiful wood has probably ended up as firewood. I myself have used some nice birch wood up through the years as fire wood.
I love this sculpture ... amazing little bear, and the others are fantastic aswell, but they are getting better and better as you go on... I can not wait for the next instalment ... but please can you do something with the humorous little log or find a way to incorporate it into the next video. Also whoever wins that amazing little cup from the start of the video will be a very lucky person!!
Amazing work as always Jonas! Congratulations brother!
Grymt! Stort tack.
Another masterpiece, so talented
Amazing, happy to see you’re able to make a living out of your incredible talent.

Amazing… great work!
COOL!!!
Amazing work, jaw-dropping sculpture honestly! I'd love to see more of the designing phase of your projects. Looking forward to next video, I even turned on notification which I very rarely do.
Beautiful, thank you Canada
Aaaaand another one done! Good job Jonas. Can’t wait for that next big log to be “Jonafied”. It’s truly remarkable, how something that was first ‘just a piece of wood’ can be turned into something beautiful with hard work, talent, determination and sheets and sheets and sheets of sandingpaper. Keep it going mate, and keep the pleasure. You’re doing great.
This is absolutly wonderful, keep at it 🎉✨️⭐️
Beautiful work
Looks simply stunning!!! Great work! Can't wait to see how the next one comes out. I'd love to see that Griffin in the future too.
I love this. Beautiful artistic gift
Amazing work ❤

This is a great sculpture, i hope you reach your goal because your art is splendid!
Great job Jonas, small remark - I do different stuffs and using mix epoxy with dust but if I need deeper penetration I use heat gun warm up wood and epoxy and still using heat during filling a gap.
This turned out great. I would love to see the planning process for your next piece, but I do think a longer video with both the planning and creation will perform better.
One of the fanciest artwork I have seen. Keep it up man!
Good to listen not only to your tips Jonas but also thoughts. Definitely relate. Office life isn’t great and outdoors, nature, wood, being creative is the only happy peaceful time imo. So yeh - you’re doing a good thing.
beautiful work Jonas ,your very highly skilled and have been loving your work ,thank you for sharing from frosty Australia
This is so beautiful! The bear is really cute!
Grate work keep it up as always // Kind regards from Sweden
Very well done.
I love, love, LOVE this piece! Adorable! Where you chose to have the darker part of the wood to be the bear and the nook it sleeps in was so perfect. It seems like they're both in a shadow, making the reason for the bear to sleep there even more obvious - it's cozy! I can't wait for the next video about just the design process for your next piece. I'm fascinated about your process and inspiration that leads to your final sculpture. I have always wondered how you know when it's done being a drawing and ready to come to life in a wooden form. Thank you for the fun video! I'm glad you spoke more about your life, experiences, and how you're doing. I hope you get to go on that hiking trip and sleep in a tent this year. May your insomnia improve so that can happen. 💗

I have been watching sculpting and wood carving videos lately because I really want to get into it but I have no equipments to work with. I also don't know where to find logs or if I can even afford any of this. I really want to try, I really love it. Also your videos are my favourite because you're naturally funny as well as super talented. I absolutely love your sketches and ideas.

Gr8 Sculpture!
I love your work you are a true master of your craft. I keep thinking that a druid or a shaman will on day extend his staff and at the end of it will be one of your carvings.
Oh wow, your channel is quite a find! I carve spoons and spatulas from Black Walnut and mesquite and I had to pick my jaw up off the floor with the final result of your sculpture. Absolutely beautiful work.
Beautiful 💎💎💎
Great video and beautiful sculpture! Your commentary is so relatable… I am really looking forward to your next sculpture. I completed a sculpture of a favorite pet house cat, and I was in the process of sculpting a Jaguar. I procured a 6 x 6 x 3 turning block of “Lati” wood for this piece. I learned a hard but valuable lesson about dimensions and scale. Bottom line… 6 x 6 x 6 would have been the minimum size of wood stock I needed to start with. My sketch (a beautiful snarling Jaguar looking right at me) was pretty good. The depth I was able to reflect in the sketch required more wood stock than the 3” dimension could render. So…. I spent way too much time trying to scale down the sculpture. I am not talented, experienced, or skilled enough to make wholesale corrections. I stopped and I am moving on. Keep moving forward…
Very nice work
