I really like the mention of how people in high ranks also can fumble and make mistakes. I think though, that one of the main differences is that in high ranks where they make a mistake, they will adapt and still try to make the play somewhat viable/useful.

It's not directly that they're adapting that sets high rank apart from low. It's the fact that high rank players typically realize the mistake made in real time and then adapt the best they can to unfuck themselves. Being able to understand and acknowledge a mistake in real time is much more useful than adapting or finding out by a streamer 3 days later.

There's such a massive difference in between low ranks and high ranks between divisions this goes from silver to gm. There's small differences in one rank separation like gold 3- gold 2 but when you make that same mistake game after game without ever realizing they add up quickly. Everyone is always quick to point out what their team is doing wrong and will blame their team for being hard stuck.

I have Moira attack and healing switch so they match her hands. (on Play station) then ended up doing that on all healers with an attack and a heal trigger. Because I got used to that set up with Moira.

That always made me so mad! Doomfist and Moira has their hands swapped with the control triggers, it always bugged me out when playing and only with practice I could surpass that mechanical problem

One issue with the one tricking advice if you play tank usually : the common knowledge is apparently the zarya counters orisa and Dva in most cases so I've had to still keep the ability to play Reinhart even though I prefer to play.D va or orisa. There are occasions where a zarya is so bad that you can just win with a decent team anyway (bronze)

Orisa yes, but Dva isn't actually as bad into Zarya as people think she is. You just need to be able to adapt your playstyle to avoid her strengths and capitalize on her weaknesses (For example play highground and don't front line against her). Except for a few examples, "counters" in overwatch don't actually counter a hero itself but rather shut down people who don't adapt. I play Winton into Reaper/Bastion/Dva all the time and still find success by just changing my approach.

Imo best zarya counter is another zarya. Just learn to play her, shes not that hard. Yes, if you play tank, you cant really be a one trick. Youll just get countered next fight.

I guarantee you this was someone that played Mei before they nerfed the beam and just walked at you holding primary fire, but now since hit icicles is integral to getting kills they just get rolled like in this video It's also really obvious they only shoot the ball as bastion because that's the only thing they can hit reliably

As a Gold support player who sometimes picks all roles queue, my dps of choice is junkrat then pharah 😂

I agree with trying to learn one character to get u out of bronze/silver, I’m diamond in everything and masters support and am pretty decent at more than 3/4 of the roster, but only like 2-3 dps support and tank I like, if u aren’t confident in the counter swap sometimes fighting with what u know best is the best thing

A trend I see in lower elo games is shooting the tank for the majority of the game and really only paying attention when the tank is outright just gone or when a dps or support severely misstep their positioning. One thing that will take you to gold is look past the tank to hit things. Going high ground is a great option for doing that. When a tank with a lower health pool engages you or lots of damage, you do need to pay attention to them. To drive then off. Otherwise look to kill dps if they are trying to trade with you or are playing out in the open or supports if they are out in the open. Supports are top priority except in the case where you are being actively engaged. Tank is the lowest. When trying to figure out which dps to fight, I find who will have the most impact against my team and who I play. So as a hitscan I look for 1 shots first. Widow, hanzo, soj. Phara is high on the list because uncontested she always has high ground to can pick whatever target she wants. I also pay attention to dive dps too. If they have a genji or tracer I need to be hanging out next to my supports or be in a position to help them if they are engaged. After that its really reading the fight through cd usage, ult tracking, and positioning to produce a win so long as your mechanical skill has a solid and well practiced foundation. Just play with this stuff in mind. Like if you die think about it and where or what you could have done better. If nothing and it was unavoidable, just find something to laugh at or appreciate from the enemies skill and move on. A good opponent that can kick your butt is gonna be hard to find but they are fun ways for you to test yourself. You might feel a little down but you can look back at those games and see how you have gotten better.

did the swap of M1 and M2 too, even on moira. didnt do it beacause of any aim obviously, i did so i can get the right orb out whenever i need it and doing damage feels more natural on M1 for me

YO about swapping the primary and secondary buttons for Mei, it also changes the input for placing walls, is there any way to only change primary and secondary fire?

I do the same swapping primary and secondary fire for the same reason you mentioned it, as in Moira's case i made the swap when i first played her on console due to the orb ability not matching the primary/secondary fire as to not get confused, since i havent played her in a while im not sure what i have on her anymore

I like to switch Moiras fire because on console at least it makes more since. Hitting right trigger for her right hand and left trigger for her left hand is just way better.

I have my Moira clicks swapped not because of aim but because the arms being the wrong way round messes with my brain

I play on console, but i also switch the primary and secondary firing for kiriko and mei.

On the topic of swapping Moira's spray and suck, I have them swapped because on console it feels weird pressing the L1 for Moira to use her right hand and R1 for Moira to use her left hand hahaha 😂😂😂

you know the dive targets for doom, winton and diva; you know the flanks of every map well for any flank dps and you know most if not all medkit locations for any hero.
