Honestly, this type of video is indispensable. You have so much integrity and that comes across so much. Echoing other comments and would love to see more interviews in the future.
Not wasting time on bugs that aren't infuriating. This is I think a very important point in game dev. As a software professional full-time it is very hard for me to give up fixing a bug. I have caught myself being stuck fixing many such bugs when I was starting out, for weeks. Because at work when you have a bug - you are expected to fix the bug. Your career depends on making good software. But video games aren't typical software. Video game bugs are very different from bugs in financial company software. Took some time to get out of that habit - but I read a very interesting article that said a similar thing. Instead of worrying making the perfect game, make a game with the perfect circumstances/situations so the chances of your player to even discover/find the bugs are very very minimal. Very informative video btw! I fell in love with infernax the moment it came out. Definitely a gem.
Vive le Québec. Proud to see good games coming from home.
This interview is fire. Lost Relic, you are an amazing listener and Etienne, you have such valuable experiences! "Too focused to have doubt", that is such an amazing place to be, essentially the flow state of development.

Hey thanks, much appreciated!
Love the longform video format! And loving you using your KZread powers to help put a spotlight on other indies.
Great video interview mate. I was always keen on this game, but co-op sealed the deal. It's an absolute 8-bit masterpiece. Been playing it all weekend - we'll definitely hit up that couch co-op real soon (and of course we should do a video of our adventures!) - Oli
Wow i love it ❤❤❤, If you can make it like a series about interviewing gamedevs it would be something crazy❤❤❤
Thank you for this talk, just as with all of your other videos, it is really appreciated to get an insight of this kind. Infernax has been sitting on my wishlist for a while, I think now is a good time to finally give it a shot.
This is great! Love to see the inside information of things like this 💯
Thanks for interviewing Etienne. Rarely see him. Only saw him last on stream that was years ago.
This is a great video, thanks for uploading 👍
Great talk. I learnt a lot!
I am really loving Infernax. It carries forward the legacy of Zelda II, Battle for Olympus, Castlevania, and above all Faxanadu in the best possible way. Thanks for putting this on my radar.
looking forward to the dlc
Oh man I didnt know Berzerk Studio is Quebecois. Awesome!

OH man and they're from Quebec City too.
It's always nice to have reminders like that that people making games are humans too.
So i have a game ive been working on for about a year now and have been sharing videos on discord facebook and youtube and i have noticed a lot of music producers have been contacting me latly like a new one every week. Is this a normal thing due to the amount of music producers in the industry looking for work or what im reluctant to hit any of these producers up because of the amount of them that have been contacting me i feel like the really dont care about my game they just want to sell their music does anyone els have this issue?
Breath of the wild provides also that feeling of discovery, to mention a modern game
Bravo Étienne t'es aussi beau que Popa ! Berzerk is love Berzerk is life
Would love you to interview devs from third world countries

It exhausted me trying to follow, developers articulatory phonetics needs some improvement.

Yeah, he isn't skilled in speech or charismatic but luckily his work doesn't require him to be. Still... That is an area he can improve if he wants to make a more public appearance.

so close.
Slightly misleading. His Kickstarter didn't technically fail. The game was almost done and they sort of launched it as a joke. As someone who has a Kickstarter currently active and having a hard time, I'm a bit disappointed with this video. I was hoping for something a bit motivational in the event of failure.

They returned all the money after being called scammers, yet still had to fullfill the pledges - it was no joke.

Hey Edwin, how about Nine Dots Studio who also launched a kickstarter for their game Outward which ultimately failed back in 2015. They kepy working on the game and then managed to secure funding with some publishers and it ended up selling millions of copies. They are also fellow Quebecois. By the way your game looks great. Im backing it!
