A tip I was told by my grandpa who owned a towing business from the 1950’s to the 90’s was to throw a loose chain over the cables to keep the cable from whipping out far enough to hurt you or any bystanders in the case of a cable breaking. I still have his big wrecker and I can understand why it was a big deal to him, the controls are on either side of the truck all the way at the rear under the boom. Really close to the action if a cable breaks😂

They drove it to fuck up the dudes land then moaned that they broke the track making loads more work for the restoration. Hope they got charged extra for that.

Looking forward to him getting it back and crushing stuff. I can see you getting some trips to go repair it 😂

Incredible that they should come over here to buy this piece of British armament. They were ecstatic with the idea and didn't they do well practicing driving it. I worked on them at Elswick in the 60's.

My uncle owns Cat dozers and I’ve gotten chance to drive them a few times. Whole family is into excavators etc. They’re fun to drive can only imagine what tanks are like, especially if you e got lots of land and can run over trees.

They're actually commonly dressed up to look like Abrams tanks in the film industry because AFAIK the US government doesn't sell off Abrams MBTs to the general public due to the armour being classified (same as the Chally)

its probably a Chieftain Mk 10. it has the slightly more raised engine deck distinctive of the Mk 3 which the Mk 10 was eventually evolved from.
