Refreshing to hear. It is indeed possible to not agree with or be a huge fan of someone while appreciating what they have to say and not needing to totally demonize them. Both the right wing and left wing seem increasingly polarized in the worst way, that if a person’s beliefs or worldview isn’t in agreement with their own they won’t even listen to them. It’s not a one sided thing, the whole world seems to be going this way sadly. People only listening to or appreciating those who would say the same things they would.

I agree, I love listening to him speak or tell stories as well, more for the speaking and storytelling. But also his rural background kinda hits home too, so it’s easier to listen to his stories than someone explaining their childhood in LA 🤷‍♂️ doesn’t mean I agree with everything he does/says lmao

This gives me a lot of strength. I also drink a lot of alcohol lately and I also started smoking in the last few months. I honestly feel like shit. I am 19 and I can't tell which way is up or down in my life. Nothing goes right in my life. I feel depressed. I can't see a way out of this madness honestly... The fact that people have been through this and have overcome it, gives me a lot of hope

Started smoking the odd cigarette offered to me by me peers at 15. I quickly became addicted. The kids smoking outside WERE the cool kids. They were good at sports, decent at social skills. Most we're not outcasts in any way. Flash forward to 26, and a thousand excuses not to quit later. I'm down to 2 cigarettes a day, from 10-15. Yesterday i didn't have any all day. Before i went to bed i cried. Gone was my "happy" habit, and the dopamine i clinged to and abused. I smoked to celebrate something good happening, and when i was feeling down. As someone trying to quit smoking now, I'm fighting against myself. My brain. The primitive parts mostly. The ones seeking and begging for instant gratification. A part of my brain already noticed the damage done by these fucking cancer sticks. Very mild gum recession, pale skin, fine lines creeping in. It's a habit that takes a 1000 things, youth, money, your literal health. Damages every organ, EVERY cell in your body. It damages the very being of you, and your possibility to stay alive and experience this universe. Why even postpone the habit, when the damage is done now, everyday you smoke. Fight through your brain trying to trick you, the feeling of emptiness, the lack of a quick happy pill. Quitting such a habit is NOT going to be easy. Brilliant minds, and some of the brighest heads were smokers too. It's not about being a dumb smoker or a smart smoker. It's about the fact that this addiction is freaking hard for many. If you accomplish this single task, your overall health will improve. Imagine that. You don't even need to go to the gym and lift anything, or change your diet habits. All you have to think about is not doing something. Isn't that a perfect thing to do if you are also a lazy person? I wish you all success and health. I will start today. No more New Year resolutions, no nothing. Your body is ticking with the clock, the second.. not on a yearly basic. What you do or don't today will affect your tomorrow. There IS a life after quitting cigarettes. But a life with cigarettes will be a worse life. To health!

Talk about a self esteem boost!

First step is to smoke only when allowed and not based on when you feel like it. But to do that you need to want to follow the schedule. So make a schedule with so much smoking so you like the schedule. After you've been conditioned to only follow the schedule, you can strategically decrease very little. Do this for a month. When you're completely following the schedule decrease it like by one cigarette first week, and next decrease it by 2 and next by 3 and so on.
