Sad thing is it likely still smells of smoke, won't be anywhere close to what it was before but to truly get rid of it you need to basically take the entire interior out of the car and deep clean everything. Headliner, inside the dashboard and door trims. It's a massive job that isn't realistic for a normal detail.

I have a 2016 Kia Rio and though the interior materials aren’t great, it’s been a noble little car. Nothing’s gone wrong on it. My mother in law had a 2014 Cerato and drove it to 200,000km before selling it. It had no issues either. They’re basic cars but really well engineered and long-lasting.

I've got a 213 Kia Forte. Great car. Roomy for a sedan. I don't want to get sucked into the Financing vortex, or else I'd buy a new one.

So sad the owner did not take care of that Kia. If the car is that bad I don't want to imagine the (former) owner's lungs

I’ve seen a smokers lungs. The stuff they cough up is actually darker than this. And their lungs are typically black for a while after they quit.

I think I’d drive all the way to Canada just to have my car detailed by Mitch. I remember when I told my grandma she couldn’t smoke in my car for these reasons. Needless to say she didn’t ride in it.

Depending from where you would drive if it is very far then driving back will make your car the same again at least the outside

OMG! I use to drive this same exact color orange Kia Soul. My very first car to ever own. I loved my 2010 Kia Soul. But I sold my Kia Soul and replace 2010 Subaru Outback.

I have a Kia Soul...ALWAYS wanted one and finally bought one! If my Soul looked like that..I'd cry but you did an AMAZING job!

I'm sure there's a few ways, but the way I've done it is to get a hot bucket of water with dawn dish soap and set it on the seat and pull the belt as far out as it will go and use a clamp to keep it from retracting and put the belt in the water for awhile and agitate. All the junk will come out of the belt.

I bought my 2015 Rav4 new, have never washed it and it has been used all the time on mining jobs. My workers don't care too much about wiping muddy boots before getting in a work car! And there's two smokers. Thanks to channels like yours I detailed it last week and it is close to new. They look bad at the start but a full detail shows how bad they really were. I have 5 cars and 3 bikes to maintain so invested in most of the equipment and am considering an ozone machine too.

I used Old English Dark Woods Stratch Remover oil on the interior of my car. It hides all of those interior scratches and gives it a nice protective shine.

Every time I bring it to a car detailer (although I only asked those drive through ones), they say nothing they can do to it and bring it to an upholstery shop. How can I tell if it's grime and treatable or if it's just me gripping too hard?

If you don't have a steamer, I would just do a test spot with all purpose cleaner to see if grime comes off or if it's just a worn down finish.
