I Should Have Thrown This Guitar Away... (Grant Les Paul Copy)

Музыка

This is a Grant Les Paul copy... and I should have thrown this away... but, I'm glad I didn't!
This Grant LP copy was my first real electric guitar, a Christmas present at the age of 12. And it turns out it has a pretty interesting back story. There's no guitar tuition or gear reviews in this week's video, but if you're interested in guitars, I hope you may still find this little video essay as interesting as I did.

The Gibson is not a single piece of wood. The neck is inset with a tung and grove glued joint.

Yeah I realised I’d said that when I was editing the video 🤦🏼‍♂️ Should’ve put a *corrective bit of text over 😬 Thanks for clarifying though.

I used to have a Grant SG model and it's the most beautiful guitar I ever had. And it sounded nice, too. I always thought that the pickups were just very weak humbuckers but it makes sense if they were in fact single coils. The main reason I sold it was an instable neck joint and bad tuners. I've come to regret selling it, though. Those issues could have been fixed.

Ah gutted to hear you’d sold it. You never know, maybe it’ll work its way back around one day 🤞🏻 Yeah I’m pretty impressed with this one.
