That's pure GOLD for a guy like me....Owner - Operator set my sights on a forestry mulching - land clearing operation - Pure Gold! I have a Bobcat mini MT100 and my local shop is also pure GOLD- they have been a Bobcat dealer forever (over 30 years I think) this guy is definitely a great spokesman, keeping it real, certain machines do certain things better, but Bobcat seems to be accelerating changes for the better (by Doosan) and the motor with no RE-GEN is a big deal! This is some great information. The width and 60/40 sound like good compromises that make it a better machine for most. I like the idea of a machine that is better for most loads, and you can easily add ballast for the edge cases. We had a bobcat when I was a kid and I liked it and its the brand I will probably get myself when I finally get a skid steer.

I rented a 325g and was convinced I needed a ctl, but only one I could buy was a Bobcat T66. The 325G was a year out and Kubota was 2months out. I'm getting to 1.5yrs and 800hrs on the T66 now, pretty happy so far. Had one warrantee issue with the cab harness going bad. Bobcat replaced the harness no charge and has been great to deal with. Love the speed and the float on the loaded bucket. I can run full speed with the bucket loaded over rough terrain and not spill anything which speeds up jobs a lot. Here's a quick list of everything I've broken or had to repair. Broke my windshield door twice, had the air ride seat get stuck on and popped the bladder, I damaged my leveling sensor with ice and dirt crushing it, broke a plastic part inside my door handle, and melted the belt cover with too much heat being pumped on it while cleaning things in the back. Probably the biggest thing I'd change is the lack or heat down by my feet. When I'm operating in extreme cold, I'll often wear Baffin boots because my feet will get cold in anything else. The cab produces lots of heat for the windshields and the upper portion of the cab but not much for the operators feet.

Very helpful. Good to hear the Bobcat guy say that all brands will have issues. Some minor, some major. But I think this is machine, not brand specific. All the major brands have sound machines, but there are lemons that get out from all of them. 3 years ago I was in the market for a skid steer to mulch. At the time Bobcat's biggest machine (870?) did not have built in extra hydraulic cooler, and forestry door was a big upgrade. My salesman said if I was 90% mulching I should look at ASV. I did and bot the 75, and upgraded to a 135 last year. Very happy. But I appreciated that salesmans honesty. 2 weeks later he called me saying I know you wern't looking for a mini Ex, but we had a customer order an E42 6 months ago (this was mid 21 during Covid shortages) and it is coming in next week. He couldn't wait and bot a used machine and want's his deposit back. Would I be interested? Went down, looked at it and bot it. What a great decision. Skid's work faster, but a mini ex is a swiss army knife. So a good salesman got me where i needed to go (not with him), but got a nice sale for his trouble. Lastly, unless you are mulching or breaking pavement, which require extra cooling and as much hydraulic HP as you can get, all major brands have good machines for dirt work, occasional mulching, farm etc. Get the machine with the best local dealer!

I love my old Bobcat T590. It is 10 years old and still running strong. If you do change machines, and no matter what brand you go with, I would suggest you get it with the 2-speed ground travel option, track suspension roller system and backup camera (for kids and animals at your place). I do find the door a pain with certain attachments installed but understand why it is like this. My door seals so tight that it is hard to latch unless the window is cracked open a little bit. Yes, the door is adjusted correctly. I do take my door off for most the year (except when it is extremely hot or cold) and have found this solves the problem with getting in and out. The door is very easy to remove, and install, and if the temperature does turn on you while it is off, you can still run the heat or A/C with the door off and not suffer. Good luck with your demo!

I have a 2022 T76 wide track for private use. I really like the machine. No dpf or blue government juice to worry about. The only issues I have had was a hose clamp recall on the radiator along with the radio loses communication (requires power cycle to come back - not many times). The only loss of power I have noticed was going up a steep hill while using a hydraulic function, but this was at a quicker ground speed. If I had to buy another one I would get a bobcat T66. Slightly smaller framed machine with the same 74 hp as the T76. The weight on the 66 is slightly less for trailering. The T66 can have counter weights added which can get the lift capacity closer to the T76. Looking to hopefully obtain a E42 or E50 R2 in the near future to complete the collection.

The Case 430 has the low flow hydraulics but I never had any issues as my attachments are geared for that. I never had issues with this machine. Highly recommended! I had a friend who had a paving company and he owned 15 Bobcat skid steers. He told me to stay away from them as Bobcat had too many electrical problems. He told me at any given time, he had only 9 of the 15 machines operational at once. That was a telling statement to me. I'm a Cummins believer as I own 2 Dodge 3500 trucks. Bought the Case and never looked back.

It didn’t like turn in its place either. I had to full throttle it and it barely turned acting like it didn’t like it. Other than that the joystick control and foot throttle was great. I own a old wheeled Bobcat that would cause too much compaction and fall off the terraces probably rolling down the hill.

The Kubota model 3 with its excavator door is amazing! It seals tight. We got cats where I’m working. The standard door is a pain if you ever had the latter. The seals on the standard doors seal from the outside to the cab. The excavator door seals from the inside. Which when you turn the heat or ac on it pushes or pressures up against the door which helps it seal even more. I highly recommend the Kubota. Great machine that u can get out of at anytime

That's quite the radiator they pack into those little units. Thinking about how a guy would clean it, you'd have to get an air hose under it and blow upwards to avoid blowing the mess into the fan and onto the engine.. Ran the Deere in the dry months last year and you would have fine dirt piled on that back lid over an inch thick. not sure how that horizontal rad position would handle it. Thank you both - Bobcat should loan you a unit after the work you've done here!

I bought a new Bobcat E50-R2 Excavator a couple years ago. AC has never worked right. If it's over 80 outside it starts to get to hot inside. On the warmest days I'm lucky if it can keep the cab 10 degrees cooler than the outside temperature and it regularly gets into the 90's here(Southern IL). Also when it's humid at all out water starts coming out of the vents, a lot of water. The dealer has had the machine several times and hasn't fixed it. They claim that the AC is "within specs" . I've checked the temps at the vents and it varies between about 48 and 60+ degrees. As far as water from the vents blowing in my face, they said they were told by Bobcat to tell me to turn the blower down. The dealer admitted to me after the last service that they have a rental machine with the same problem. Other than the AC system I really like the machine, but at this point I will never buy a Bobcat product again. As far as skidsteers, I have a Case TR310B and love the machine. Plenty of power for it's size, good viability a comfortable cab.

Only complaints I have with my 2021 T66 is the hydraulic QDs on the loader arm are too exposed (have to be careful with grapples) and also the ever-present electrical gremlins. @@RockhillfarmYT Honestly I haven’t noticed that point myself. I’ve been in machines for 10+ years now. I definitely wish I would have spent more time at bobcat I definitely would have bought a T66. But pushing power you’ll definitely miss about a John Deere the bobcat can’t touch the power of the Deere. Even in the turning I haven’t noticed a T66 being any better. What I have noticed in a T66 is it’s much quieter, it’s faster through its operation circle and speed. It’s 3x better on fuel!!! What a big deal when you run it all day as a business owner I wish I could save that! Their technology far exceeds John Deere. I’d 100% buy a bobcat. There are some things I dislike about my Deere. But power in turning with weight never noticed. What I do notice is when people say they lack power in turning while’s doing other operations they are usually in 2 gear and that in my opinion isn’t healthy operations in any machine even if it can do it iits premature wear 2 gear is to get from site to site minimal turning or carting materials not under huge stress. I see what to many final drives get blown because operators think you can be in 2 gear all the time.

A SVL97 is not 84” wide. It’s 80” so it fits ok on a contractor special trailer. Anymore it’s all about dealer support, all machinery has issues so it’s just best to pick who would take care of you. I like Deere ok but visibility is terrible on them. It’s like sitting in a bathtub, little view of anything below the lift arms. Bobcat is superior for visibility vs Deere.. the new -3 Kubota has a sealed cab and revised door. Even with a few drawbacks, the roll up door makes more sense.

This salesman is very well acquainted with this machine and I really appreciate that. However, he did sell us on a couple of things that are not true. For auxiliary circuit flow, he told us that this 105 hp machine can produce 44 gpm at 4200 psi. The hydraulic horsepower equation quickly shows that pressure and flow to equal 108 horsepower which is obviously impossible. Even if the hydraulics were 100% efficient (which they are not), dedicating 105 hp to the auxiliary circuit would mean that the machine would have 0 hp available for any other function while running the circuit at full capacity. The matter of higher case pressure improving the speed at which direction of flow between functions changes is not at all helpful in a situation where you're asking a machine to smoothly divide flow between two functions. Also case pressure is often developed by internal leakage which a parasitic loss that wastes hydraulic power by converting it into heat. We don't want that. This machine does have some really nice features. I do appreciate the idea of running remotely at a pretty low cost. I'd like to try that, but I'm thinking that it's probably more of a safety hazard more than a practical function. Keeping the operator in the cab keeps him from getting run over or tangled in an auger just like keeping two hands on a chainsaw keeps your hands out of the chain. Again, I do very much appreciate this fella's knowledge and dedication to his job here. It's difficult to find people who are passionate ate about what they do. Top tier salesman.
