Haha! I’ve suffered with this the past 5/6 years since I shaved mine off too so I completely feel your pain! I get so paranoid when anyone looks at my sideburns. I love that neat look but they bloody grow back stubbly within days 😂. It’s been a month now since I’ve been growing them out and they look hilarious so tempted to shave off again but IM NOT ever doing that again now. 1 month strong sideburns now another couple to go before I can tuck them in my ears hahaha 💪🏾

Hahaha, omg, I totally get you!!!😂 I also loved that clean look, until 2 days later when the stubble came back with a vengeance! It took all my self control to put down the razor. Lol. I am proud of you, '1 month strong '!🙌💪 you got this!! It gets better, I promise!! Haha!❤

I’m going through this right now! I too, have no idea why I cut mine because like you, my sideburns were long and just like the rest of my hair. They weren’t bushy at all. But, for some reason I did and am just slowly waiting for them to grow back. I keep having anxiety that they won’t, but I just tell myself hair is hair and eventually it will. I definitely don’t recommend any females to cut their sideburns! Worst mistake ever!!! For sure will never do it again :)

I have never related to someone more. I did this same stupid mistake and went thru the same sideburns for months and they wont tuck away. Now here i am trying to find a solution but this made me laugh. You are awesome! Thank you for this video.

Laughed so much ! Girl I way overplucked one of my eyebrows..it took weeks to grow back. Its best to laugh at these things..lessons learned

ladies here to say ive been reshaving my sideburns for 2 years and yesterday i finally tweezed all of them off. by doing this, u get the root and theres no green/gray 5’oclock shadow, and ur sideburns will become more wispier as they grow like before. it does hurt like a bitch lol but its worth it!! sending love ❤️

Yup I did the same. Discovered there’s no controlling it. All you can do is patiently wait to let it grow back. I’m so self conscious about it but hopefully in a few more months they’re even longer to tuck back. Lol never again!!!

Hey Petrena, I’m commenting on this video today Nov 2,2022 I have suffered from the same problem for more than 10 years now because of 11 years old me standing in front of the mirror and thought “why don’t I shave this growing hair on the side of my face” and now here I am 22 years old still suffering from my weird ear muffs. I didn’t know what to do with it or how to solve the problem so I was constantly shaving and waxing and NOTHING changed till 2 months ago I wanted to bleach my sideburns and came across your video and I can’t tell you how happy I was when I saw and read all of the other peoples experiences and I am not the only person who’s suffering for that problem. After that I decided to stop shaving and waxing it and I started using Castor Oil every single night and now I am FINALLY able to but my no longer ear muffs behind my ears and I can’t explain how much I am confident now and not shy of putting my hair up. It was a whole journey of not feeling confident, comfortable, feminine and a lot more, I am really glad and appreciate you sharing your story without seeing your video I would’ve still been shaving and waxing my sideburn hair off. I can't stop laughing, but the truth is I feel you because I have the same issue. When I was a kid I used to get boy cut and they used to she the side burns. Now it's terrible and I have the fuzzy look, I have tried to cut and bleach but then everyone just asks what happened to them 😂 now I'm doing the same as you. Trying to grow them but it's not looking good at all!

I have to wear my hair up for work and I stupidly shaved my side burns. I’m growing it back now and it so thick and awkward looking! I’m so glad I found someone else who knows the feeling lol

That’s hella funny. I actually did this and kept trying to keep them off too but it does get tiring and I’m chasing after a toddler while 5 months pregnant. So let’s just say that I don’t feel the most put together lol. I’m happy she made this video because lately I’ve been VERY self conscious about my “ear muffs”. They aren’t long enough to tuck, just long enough to go down the side of my face 😅

I actually do dermaplane my face, which I am going to post a video about in the next few days, but I stay far away from my side burns because those just are just awkward when they are regrowing. The rest of my face is totally fine.😊💕

I wear glasses and now with masks my long side burns would always tend to stick out and move and I would go to the bathroom with my sideburns sticking out in all different directions. So one day 10 minutes before I have to leave for work I decided to trim them. But like bangs I cut them too short so I had to shave them completely off. I had a huge tan line from where they use to be and the next day had a 5 o'clock shadow. 🤦‍♀️ praying they grow back fast so I can wear my hair up again.

it’s only been 3 weeks of growing them out and they look SO AWKWARD. whatever i still wear my hair back in clips and ponytails. just gotta laugh ab it and continue living live.. they’ll grow back at some point haha

I litetally cut mine yesterday and i love them :) if you're more of a tomboy you should do it IT'S SO COOL

omg i am only 14 and my sister accidentally shaved mine. people always ask me if i shaved them and i hate having to tell the story every time. i’m super impatient so i’m trying to grow back now but as a dancer i always have my hair back so it’s so annoying. how long did it take for yours to grow back?

I didn't use a razor, I used hair removal cream, because my hairs were not growing long ever, they were always short. I asked some friends they said they don't have "women" sideburns at all and said I must have high testosterone.

best tip is to tie your hair in a low pony and cover up your ears, but if you have curly hair just cut a bit of your hair off and use eyelash glue to stick it there until they grow back.

How long did it take for them to grow back?? Really struggling with this right now lol

For those going through the regrowth phase I recommend dermaplaning over them to thin the hair - you get the length but it isn’t as thick.

Honestly when it was growing out at the start it looks edgy. It looks good in my opinion. But then again if you're more fem then I suppose it will make you self conscious. But at least know it didn't look bad. But growing it out I suggest making it lightly layered that way it lays down more flat without the need to put it in the back of your ear.

I cut my hair to short curtain bangs and I think that’s helped to not focus on the side burns

I want to grow mine out so bad and go back to being natural. I was bullied back in high school for it. But I hate it and I want to grow them out. It's just the awkward stage that gets me to shave them

My sideburns look like that already but goes down more and it’s darker without shaving. Also when you get professional laser you have to shave the area and it is a process so it gets annoying.

Thank YOU for this video! I wish I could go back and not make this foolish mistake. I figured that since my peach fuzz doesn’t grow back thick after dermaplaning, I should do my sideburns. It’s constant upkeep and I went way too high up on one side🤦🏻‍♀️ I tried growing them out and they look like a man’s! After this video, I’m letting them grow out because I have hope now. On another channel, the girl uses sally Hansen waxing strips and she doesn’t have thick regrowth and constant stubble.

I'm 59 years old--I have goofy curly sideburns --portions of which do not grow long enough to curl behind my ears -- ever. I've done it all--shaved, just cut, etc. It's all good--it grows back super fast, so experimenting is really no big deal.

So what's the answer for long side burns?????? Wax??? Bleach??

thankfull yours grows longer to put back. Mine does not it just stays like that it's ugly but then when I shave I get the stubbies.

I did the same thing. I'm super embarrassed and self conscious. I have Elvis sideburns. I don't know if i should cut my sideburns, lazer them, talk to a hairstylist about it, or seek professional advice. I researched videos and articles on what to do about this issue but there is no definitive answer. I don't have a lot to spend, so i invested in at home lazers on amazon but they don't seem to do the job well. I have been letting my sideburns grow since December but they look very long and thick. If anyone can help find an answer to this embarrassing issue id greatly appreciate it!!! Thanks!!

I did the same thing 5 years ago. Today, after trying every single thing to manage this mess, i am at my 3rd laser session. Let me tell you all, even laser is not helping. The area around my ear looks UGLY. I wish i had waited as long as you did with the regrowth part. :/
