I Scratched Ol Blue, 3 Trys To Do A Job
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
Early on a Sunday morning I got a call about a person stuck at the end of 10 Mile Wash. They had sent out an satellite SOS to their emergency contact. So I headed in with Ol Blue to get them. I was told it was a Dodge Pickup that was stuck. So I figured I needed something to possibly lift and had some weight. So in I went. I knew there would be some trees and bushes and I would probably end up scratching the new paint, but it was gonna happen eventually, so be it. Turns out it was a large rock that stopped me cuz I couldn't fit. So we ran back to town to get the Scrambler. While the Scrambler fit and made it down to the vehicle it didnt have the weight or the rigging to get it out from how deep it was stuck. So since it was way after dark, we called it and went back to town. The following morning we loaded the guys and 2 rigs up and went back in. This time with an extra vehicle and more rigging we got it unstuck and drove it out. Thank you everyone for watching and supporting us.

I was just talking to my son who lives out west, and he was complementing you on your defense of the trail net work and our responsibility to always do the right thing so we can’t be accused of the other.

People who don't choose to do the right thing are why we all can't have nice things. Pat yourself on the back for raising a kid that not only does the right thing but also recognizes and appreciates when others do the same. That's a compliment that I unfortunately can't give to a lot of parents today👏🇺🇲

Most people want to do the right thing, it's the additives that mostly change a person's perception of the moment and situation that makes intentions turn into laxadazical follow through for a positive outcome and overall well manored finally.😢❤

I still like fab rats, and Casey’s off-road recovery is good- just who he is no ads or other nonsense
“Kenny’s back!” Wins the internet.
The first scratch is tha hardest, we know it is a work truck and you know the limits of your riggs. Great job
Shawns laugh gets me laughing every time. You guys are the same personalities as my friends and I. Always having a good time regardless of the situation.
On a truck like Blue, scratches are stories! Thanks for sharing 🇨🇦
"I got scared" (at 16:32). Mike's quick wit is so good.
Mike scored the choice ride out of there with a full cab and heater. Moab truly is one of the most beautiful places.
Utah is so bueatiful ! Always fun to watch you guys, and thanks for no crappy music !
Now you don't have to take Ol Blue up to Pritchett, although I'm sure it the situation calls for it you would anyhow. Got that scratch situation taken care of....lol. Great points on the use of a kinetic rope in this situation. They have their use, but times like these it's not the best tool to use to recover a vehicle.
8:53 What a team player! Mike went for immediately for the soil inspection! That wasn't a slip up.
Ultimate trail recovery, unibomber edition 😂
Well played on that truck boys! Impressive
It might be green on the outside, but she's blue at heart. don't fret the scratches, they will buff right out. Be well.
The buggies are a great asset to the recoveries. Another job well done.
The wonderful part of winter is you can just wait until the mud freezes to get out.
Mike pulling a Trevor move out of the buggy and then shortly after saying;"...... it was an optional delusion." Were the too funniest things I've seen and heard all week!!!!😊😅😂
Scratches on Old Blue just give the wind a direction to go. Howling Wolf did a great job on the paint. He did say he expected scratches. Beautiful country to work in even in the cold. Merry Christmas to you and yours from me and mine. Thanks for sharing.
You guys know the tire trick for getting lift on a pull like that. When you stand a tall spare rolled up to the stuck vehicle and loop your tow cable over top of it to get some lift. I'm sure you do. In some cases it works in others it just gets in the way. But it works when you have no other way to lift. You guys I swear are a regular comedy trio. It's great to work with close friends like that and have that much fun at work. Outstanding video as usual keep up the great work!

I saw this method many years ago and am surprised that I have not seen it on a recovery channel.
Another fantastic video from the fantastic 3.THE R/S/M OF OFF ROAD RECOVERY 🎉
I love this channel no bullshit editing just the real good content and you and your team the best hooligans. Always totally shearing the wealth of information. Every time I thought I seen it all I see more every recovery. Common since goes along way and has proven to be your trait. Love the channel. Do not change change anything. You are a natural.
Moab pin stripes. The sign of a champion. On older vehicles, they are also known as smile lines. Ol' Blue has had many smile events.
My brother's would like to wish you and your families happy holiday.I also would like for you to know you guys are awesome role models for our kids. Thank you
Can't say you live and work in the rocky mountain west without pinstripes. Well you can but the real ones wouldn't belive you!! Well done as always team mater💯
Never get tired of watching your videos!! The way you figure what is needed to rescue a vehicle, the jokes and smart comments make. You guys keep it lively and keep it fun!! Merry Christmas and Happy New years Rory Mike, Shawn and families.
That hurt when the paint was scratched, but Respect for not letting the paint stop you from using Ole Blue for what you built it for.
Boy good thing that mud was frozen, or that recovery could have been a lot harder. Fine job guy's and thanks for the video.
3rd times a charm, isn't that what they say? Great job once again.
Thank you for being ballsy enough to still drive that truck just like before it was painted
dang might as well be driving through barbed wire lol . great job like always.
Wow what a champ wrecker, and green to boot. Aaaaaa don't worry about the little lines, they can't see themselves. And then mud. Thank you guys for making my time here fantastic, allways a.smile and a laugh. 🐷 Gerald Ingram New Zealand.
Adding character to ole blue 10 seconds in...yes!
Was kind of a battle to get out there. That mud with the thick crusty layer on top was wicked. Levering it up with the rollcage was a good idea. Having great equipment is important, the knowledge and creativity to make it work only comes with experience. You guys really know your business. Fun to watch! Twisting and gerryrigging the steering column made me smile...
Rory, we absolutely love it when you show the scenic shots like that. It's the only way we get to see any of Utah. You and the crew do fantastic videos, and the scenery is absolutely beautiful
Time 8:57 and Mike performs a head Forward, Tuck Dive with a Degree of Difficulty of 100 and, wait for it, yes!, he receives a score of 9.5 %, an almost perfect Dive except for the landing, which was a bit rough in its execution. The crowd goes wild!!!! Thanks for taking us along and great catch Shawn 😅🤣😂. Y'all take care and have a blessed Christmas. John here, from the back-roads of Northeastern Tennessee.

Man Down!
This is an example of where a big airbag underneath would provide lift over a large area and the Jeep might have been able to pull it out if the suction could be broken... In theory. It's also a great example of why Rory doesn't have to carry as much recovery equipment because his experience has taught him well.
Good morning Rory appreciate your channel 💚
Rory, Mike and Shawn thank you for making these videos. Always enjoy the camaraderie, the views, the recovery tech.
"I'm Sure It Will Be Fine" Would love to get that on a shirt!
It is still a work truck and you are still magical bringing out many Vehicles that go places they dont belong, because of those people going places they shouldnt be anyway, to do the Work there will always be scratches or you are more interested in keeping her pretty then getting the Job Done. Keep Doing what you do so well, even if old blue getting scratched
Don’t kill Kenny! Nice extraction from that mud bog!👍👍
Pin striping adds legitimacy to every truck.
Those aren’t lectures you give, it’s good useful information for everybody. They’re only lectures for the people that are dumb enough not to listen to somebody else’s suggestions. And listening to suggestions doesn’t mean you have to follow them but at least you listened.
THIS Is why we can't have new things !!
I knew of a guy who bought a custom Radon commercial fishing boat on the Central Pacific Coast. These boats are highly desired and very expensive. He ran it up onto an oyster bar and scratched the hell out of the hull on the first day out and nobody could believe he did that. He said something along the lines of, "It's a work boat, now I can feel comfortable using it." Rory definitely gets it. Use your equipment, it can always be rebuilt and repainted.
Need to build a buggy tow truck ,nicely done with safety, take care of Mike don't let him hurt himself 👍🏻🇺🇸🦅🤠🐍
Good quick an simple done by the OG, could have been a 1.5hr "rescue" on so many other spam channels, that don't even teach or learn themselves 🙌🔥 thanks for the detailed simple recovery that's why we watch you 💯
What a Trail Mater SCOUT MASTER and his dedicated committed team Mike & Shawn are very SPECIAL people! I can't imagine OFF ROAD RECOVERIES without you!!! Thank you for such great video and commentary and those SHAWN laughs when most of us would be crying or ??
LOL! It's the Rory-Kenny! ~Nice!
I am amazed at the places people drive their vehicles, but then that's why we get to watch Rory, Mike and Shawn do their thing.🤣
Oh no "don't kill Kenny". 😂
"If you'da made it you'da had it!!" - BEST. LINE. EVER. Well done ( again ) gentlemen. Oh yeah, nice escape from the buggy Mike. lol
Good thing you have an awesome paint guy.
It’s one thing to drive a capable vehicle through a place like that. But hats off to Mike for driving a non capable unfamiliar vehicle like that. Well done Mike.
Another good video from Rory and crew. Merry Christmas to you all. And also to Justin - we may not see him often, but we see his talent in the editing. Happy Holidays 🎄
Mike, "I bet Rory's freezin" Shawn, wicked laughter. That's yer boyz, Rory!!
Great Recovery 👍 Thank you for sharing 👌
Bring the buggy's !! Nope, I'm going to trash my friends hard work painting my truck because I'm a stubborn a$$ !! 😂😂😂😂
Gorgeous scenery Rory! Love your channel! Thank you guys so much!
Thank you for taking us along through all that beautiful countryside. 🇨🇦
Another AWESOME video and recovery for the trail mater team.
I , as a member of the recovery industry for more than a half a century, must commend you on you talent.
Need to have a segment called…(Lessons with Rory) 🤣🤣👊
Awesome video guys! I never know what kind of commical stuff is going to happen and you guys never disappoint! Great recovery and cool way to hook up the buggy to work like a boom. You guys are ALWAYS thinking outside the box which makes this channel awesome. Merry Christmas to you all! Please stay safe and thank you for sharing
Kenny’s Back… good call ! LMAO❤
Ol Blue now has some freshly applied desert pinstriping. That's like a soldier doesn't get much respect until he has his 1st Purple Heart. You don't get scratches on paved roads.
Good video and very tough recover of this Dodge Ram 2500. Sorry about the scratches in Ole Blue.
Thank you for bringing the beautiful views into my living room. Lord knows I'll never be able to see it in person. Ty
In to days episode: The trail Mater show we have Mike & Shawn the plucky comic relief ... lol
Awesome recovery, guys. Looks like the driver of that truck failed to stop & check that mud before wading in. Merry Christmas to you and yours & as always thanks for taking this old broke down gal along!
Sorry to see those racing stripes on ole' Blue. Of course we all knew it wouldn't be long before the trails reached out and grabbed a victim. Third try is charm! Thanks for sharing.
That looked like a fun road to travel and scenic to boot.
Mud, rain, snow or sleet Rory will always have Dad shoes on his feet
Nah Rory, those markings are called "pinstripes". They make an old paintjob even better! 😂😁😜
Hello from Sweden and happy holidays Rory , Mike , Shawn and rest of the guys doing background work
Great recovery! Thanks for sharing the scenery.
Thanks for the video -- It was a nice Christmas gift. -- Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to the Trail Mater community!
I am a new subscriber but also subscribe to Robby, Matt, and Paul's channels and I always enjoy the content of you and your Utah brotherhood. I live in a rural area of the Maritime Provinces of Canada . Its very beautiful here but I have to say I am amazed by the beauty of the Utah desert. The Moab area is in a class by itself. It takes me back to Saturday Matinees and cowboy movies. I love how you are protective and respectful of the environment you live work and play in. Keep up the great content but electrical tape? Every handyman knows duct tape will fix anything!

Good to know that you are also another Red Green disciple! Gotta have duct tape!
I would have stayed blue on blue OR gone NEON GREEN. That would have been cool. But your classic look is good too. Your truck. I bet you get get it out and nobody dies. 👍
That mud looks just like Northern California clay mud. Eats vehicles for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Sitting in the comfort of my warm house watching you guys get the job done. Merry Christmas boys.
Happy Holidays Rory, Shaun, and Mike. 🎄🎄🎄
Well done. That Dodge pickup has been rode hard and put up wet.
Still calling the green painted blue truck blue is classic! Could you have run the front winch over the roll bars to the back to get the required lift? That Ram definitely seemed to be a bit oversized for where he ended up but the skills you have to get them back out is always impressive. "If you would have made it you would have had it you were there" almost deserves its own Tshirt.
Those battle scars just added a little more character to ole blue.
I was going ouch ouch ouch 😂🤣😂 Always need the A-Team 🙂 Thanks for sharing.. Merry Christmas... Seasons Greetings... whatever 🙂
Rory if you end up fixing the paint again, just ceramic coat it. It will definitely help prevent most of the scratches. I know it’s a work truck, but it’s ok to want to keep it nice too if you want lol.
@brettknighten1171

Ceramic coat won't stop scratches like that a thick clear coat will let you buff them out easily.

I think to protect his rigs he would need Nanobots with ceramic coated titanium shields fighting the great fight. He uses his stuff. 😂😂
I gotta know which of the rocks was “the hard place”? Way to navigate through there Mike. Thanks for sharing
Freshly painted to freshly scratched
Don't worry about scratches to Ol' Blu because they are earned battle scars, which far from distracting adds to the credibility.
great post gentlemen...Rory's comment about the Gandalfy rock "you shall not pass" is the funniest thing that I've heard for a long time 🤣🤣
Nice that you washed the wheels for the RAM owner!
Good to see some of the mud washed and shaken off , but love the fact Rory sees the beauty of the country THANK YOU AND MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL OF YOUR FAMILIES THANK YOU
Merry Christmas to you guys and thanks for sharing another awesome video with us ❤ 🇺🇸
What a way to spend a Sunday, keep up the good work you always get them out !!!
I’ll keep watching! ❤
Great rescue and nice technique.
