It's always sad to see your men and women today leave to fight regardless of whether you're close to them, it's made for the big screen, Costner is one of the best directors and actors there is, I hope people go see it for Costner dedicated so much work passion and belief into this.

I agree and hope people go to see it too. Whether or not they like it, we just don’t see films like this anymore and it’d be amazing if more tried to support it.

Everyone needs to take a breath. I went in knowing that this was the first chapter, and that made it easier to consume. Nothing is meant to close on Chapter 1, so don't go in expecting it to be a neat and tidy ending, it isn't. With that said, I feel somewhat taken advantage of here. Since I've viewed the first installment I'm pulled into the second...Now, I understand Costner is just wrapping up the third chapter, and hasn't decided on whether to let that hit the theaters or go to streaming. If he decides to stream he may lose me, and others as we may not have the capabilities of pulling up that particular platform, without some financial investment. I think one just has to be patient here, let the story unfold, and then list your concerns. In my way of looking at things, I'm going to give Costner a break, with Chapter 1, but my patience will wear thin if some resolutions aren't at least justified to bring me into 3 &4. We'll see.

But since Kevin already quit Yellowstone without staying to give it an ending, how can you trust him to finish Horizon all the way to the end? I think odds are, he doesn't make Chapter 4. Horizon 1 is on track to lose $100 mil. The box office returns won't even cover the money spent on TV commercials to market it.

I’m also looking forward to the second installment and expect it to be a lot better than the first one. Though I definitely think the first one had huge flaws in its structure in terms of characters introductions and story development that lead to a rather unsatisfying conclusion and made the film feel a lot like a tv show at times.

Teens or adults aren't showing up to see this Saga either, so it won't really matter. They should cancel the August screen date, put Horizon 1 out on home video, Pray that it captures some kind of audience. And Then consider putting Chapter 2 out in limited release in theaters.

I thoroughly enjoyed it, was sorry it ended and cannot wait for Part 2 and beyond. It was an old-fashioned throwback of an epic mashed up with some more modern storytelling. If John Ford were making a multi-part epic. It was bright and aspirational and not revisionist angst.

Horizon is great. It has less flaws than other movies and better action and scenery than most movies. To me, it is a classic.

I’m glad you think so! I agree about the action and scenery but in my opinion it just had a lot of trouble with character/story development and pacing.

If you like movies, you shouldn't say things like "I watched it so you don't have to." You should want people seeing films, especially original theatrical films. It's a dying medium and you it's not smart to kick it more down.

I mean, if you watched the whole video you’ll see that I was strongly urging my cohost to go and see the film as well as speaking highly of it in general. It’s one I think people should go see and experience for themselves. I also agree with you that original theatrical films are a struggling medium that should be seen. But also, this is a film that a LOT of people are saying bad things about without actually going to see. So I felt that mistitling this video negatively to draw in haters could work as a tactic to sway some of them in seeing the film. I understand if you disagree with me but I hope you see the perspective I’m coming from.

One of the worst films that I've ever seen. So many characters. At one point I said to myself "If they introduce another character, I'm walking out!" None of the characters I cared anything about. I couldn't tell who the bad guys were, who the good guys were. Costner doesn't show up until 2 hours into the movie, it seems, and his character was boring and unlikable. I didn't know what the goals of the characters were, what the point of the story was. All of the actors had brand new clothes on that looked like they pulled them straight out of the dressing room closet. The women all had perfectly sculpted eyebrows. The Chief hsd manicured nails and one of the cowboys had veneers! It was such a lousy film. Really disappointing.

And honestly that’s all reasonable. I’m surprised I didn’t hate it myself and maybe I would if I watched it again. Personally I’m just a sucked for westerns and never got to see one in a movie theater until now so that definitely had a sway over me.

@@LoganLikesMovies I have ADHD so I notice out-of-place things like a sore thumb. I can usually suspend my disbelief, but this film had far too many to ignore. I expected much more from Costner, who has been in so many great Westerns and should have picked up so much knowledge from other great directors and film crew. Oh, well.
