I Save Money Spending $2,633/month Living In South Africa | Relocated

Love made Tanisha Colon-Bibb pack up and move to Johannesburg, South Africa in 2020. Although she had a successful talent management and pr agency business she ran from her home base of Harlem New York, financially, she knew she could still pull it off abroad. This is her story of relocating and becoming a digital nomad.

@Vanessa Andreatta The electricity issue is wildly exaggerated. Usually power cuts only last 2 hours a day, when they do happen. Sometimes we go for months, depending on the region without outages which are announced well in advance. Besides, fibre lines and network towers stay on during those times.

@Vanessa Andreatta The more affluent you go, the less affected you are - so suburbs of major cities like Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban and Pretoria might serve you well. Johannesburg and Cape Town more so as Durban and Pretoria are smaller...

Lol all these relocating videos has me realizing that the American Dream is no longer a dream but a nightmare working 24/7 just to pay bills and have little to no money set aside for the future. The lack of financial security can cause so much stress and anxiety. Glad to see others are finding ways to redefine the American dream!

Watch Boyce Watkins 100 year plan and black millionaires it’s worth it . The american dream isn’t dead but takes more planning especially for people of color. Though she had a good life in the states granted she lived in one of the most expensive places in America. But I will tel you her life looks glorious in South Africa but south Africa is very very dangerous there murder rate is higher than even Chicago and it can be scary . But she looks happy and that is what counts .

@@heinuchung8680Have you been to South Africa? Dont believe what you read because all my African American friends say they are safer here in South Africa than in USA. May be you are of Chinese descent and you are treated somewhat better than blacks in America. As for South Africa being dangerous than America, thats just your opinion, I lived in Chicago and Johannesburg is no way near dangerous than that city. Dont forget that we also travel to the US and see what is happening in that country. Having been to both countries, if I were to choose between USA and SA i would without any doubt choose South Africa. Anyway you are entitled to your twisted opinion abot a country you know nothing about.

Yet brutain us touted as very wealthy and so the world thinks everyone here is stinking rich. Even at that the majority of billionaires in Britain are of foreign origin. Yet when they go to Africa, they will zoom in on the poor areas and say all Africans are starving and poverty stricken.

A lot of African Americans have been moving to SA lately and in all honesty we as South Africans want them here. Its a bit sad how neglected their talents are but a lot have noticed that they could be living a fantastic life at half the price of the American lifestyle they currently live. But its highly advisable that if you move here, you must either work for yourself or for an American company and you must know people BEFORE you even come here.

The cost of living is definitely higher this side of the world which sometimes makes it impossible for one to live their best life. As a Black American, living in Southern Africa, it truly is a better life (to be back home). The only thing I suggest: learn the history of the country you're moving to...and likewise, it's nice to teach locals about your own history. I found that many locals had no clue about American/Trans-Atlantic Slavery . And not every single Black American that repatriates or transitions to the Motherland has a higher monthly income. It CAN be done, though. This is just my experience from the past decade and present. Thought I'd share. Shalom
