My heart is pounding! I have been riding for more than half of my life. Now I am in a wheelchair. I actually had riding therapy in the rehab center. It was amazing and helped a lot! Now I am really missing horses and riding. Amazing what they offer!

What an amazing facility offering valuable services to people who really benefit from riding and interact with horses I love that they also offer to dressage riders as well
Getting to know and appreciate you guys as individuals is always fun. This video was excellent. I learned, I am appreciative of both of you caring about good things for others. Grow together
That was so educational. Core balance is obviously important and that simulator is a wonderful tool. I do wish it existed here. I imagine confidence is built before riding the horses and weaknesses and strength can be monitored to provide a positive ride for their clients. Thanks for sharing this experience with us. What a special organization they are.

Horse simulators are soo fun!! I rode a dressage one, jumping one and a racing one and it’s really good for your riding and fitness
Love the idea of people who may not be able to get on a real life horse can ride the mechanical horse!! That's awesome
I wish there was a place like this in my country. As a person with autism I find it challenging to "fit in" around neurotypical people. I also feel like I don't get the help that I need at my stable. It's really difficult to be around others who don't understand what autism means and how it "works".
It made my day to see another vlog was up! Thank you for sharing, I really enjoy your vlogs. Best wishes for 2022 to you and Jesse.
love this! I was waiting for her to have you ride it without stirrups, see what happened with the balance thing. Watching this I heard my teacher's "let go of the thigh"...it took awhile to do it but it is so effective. Watching the classical greats it is evident, some a bit more floppy loose and some relaxed and quiet. I think riding without stirrups is a good way to learn. Thank you Matt for sharing this.
Interesting demonstration Matt and congratulations to this foundation wich helps all riders (experienced or not) and people with mental disability. The simulator is a great tool for those who do not own a horse. Thanks for sharing, Matt and Jesse! 👏💙

1 knee replacement and 1 to go. I would love to use this to regain lost strength before actually riding. I’m 65 and I feel like this would be best for me.♥️
I have been trying to follow the walk movement thinking of my hip joints opening and closing rather than driving with my seat and I see an immediate more free stride. Watching clinic videos last week in the US I took a lot of notes and am surprised that a direction by an Olympian to point the little fingers towards each other, rather than hands more straight up makes a HUGE difference to my feel of my horses's mouths and my ability to soften with my ring fingers. My horse likes it much better too. The horse simulator is a great invention I have not had the opportunity to use.
@lottedunnell4642

How you tilt your hands 🤣 Tension and pressure to the mouth are achievable by using hands normally...All it does is dress it up and make it look more fancy. There are 2 types of riders in this world. The ones that get on and go, and the ones that critique everything and break it down to angles and millimetres to break basic riding into something far more complicated than it needs to be. It's incredibly pretentious. It's like saying "I hold my dogs lead with my left hand now and WOW the difference"
@andreabyrne6527

@@lottedunnell4642 It works differently for everyone, no need to bash how other people achieve a better feel or standard of riding and comfort. One way is not inherently better then any other. 😉

I need this horse in my life. First time I can trust it’s horse seller.
brilliant so far - just to come back on relaxation techniques you can do that personally by doing yoga or similar exercises - outside the horse riding scenario and it helped me a lot personally - be careful not to over think it - 🥰🥰🥰
Awesome video Matt!! ♥️ I want to try a horse simulator someday
Well, after a few weeks ( months ) of binge watching your videos, I have finally caught up and eagerly awaiting the next one. Thrilled to have found your channel. Love your gorgeous horses, P R E and Friesians are my favourite breeds. Maybe one day we will see you with a Friesian? Thank you so much for all the amazing content.
I'm actually not a dressage rider but I'd still love this to see how out of whack my position may be. But that's still a great tip to think about trying to not squeeze but rekax the upper leg and relax in general

Wow this facility is revolutionary. Hello from Australia
I started riding 30 years ago and I was taught by some of the best instructors in the country (UK) and they always said to squeeze with my knees so I'm not sure if this is an evolution of riding and it's something that's changed but it's one that's quite hard to change.

Thank you so much for helping people with mental and physicals issues. Horses are the best for this! I just wished more institutions would understand this and set up programs. There is nothing like horse healing for mind, body and soul improvements. I believe that horses are empaths, they know when your broken, they know when your frightened, happy and relaxed, they just know how to work with you and give you what you need. The only way this can backfire is if the horse is not properly trained and you put a new rider on them that is also frightened of them and they will take advantage of this! It's this that puts people off of horses, they just get a bad stable that is more for the money than the safety. I've had this happen to me and when the horse sees I won't put up with it's nonsense, it settles right down and behaves.
I would love one of these. Like a Peleton version. Hook some VR goggles up, go for a ride, never leave my apartment.

I haven’t been able to ride at all since 2019 and would like this to be able to get back confidence in my ability, and even improve, before riding again. I could concentrate on me (hands, seat, legs) without concerns about another living, thinking being under me. A simulator could do wonders as a “lesson horse”.
I really want a horse simulator it looks so much fun
Very interesting video, would be so interesting to try sometime! Have you ever tried the Franklin Method, riding with the Franklin balls? I'm asking since you mentioned locking up in your hips/pelvis and sitting to one side more than the other, and the Franklin balls help you correct this. I have tried this myself and still am using them myself. I tend to lock up in my hips/pelvis very easily and also not stay straight in my body due to medical reasons, even for that it helps. But also with no medical reasons it helps, and it also helps getting a good laugh cause it is very funny to do xD And it makes you feel like you sit deeper in your saddle.
My riding stables I go to has the same one as this it’s pretty fun and enjoyable but really makes you work
So cool simulation!
I hope this means you are back on YT. We have missed you.
I really want one of these in my house. I could really work on my balance in the canter without having to worry about tiring out my horse too much. Same with a sitting trot.

love love love. .. yes to evidence based change and growth. . .too much stuck in the way we do things as horse people.
i rly wanna try that simulator but ride it western lmaoo i’d be curious to see the analytics
When I learned to ride, I was instructed that the basic riding position is simply your standing position, legs bent, with your weight carried in the saddle. It's not a sitting in a chair position, it's actually standing but with the horse supporting your weight through your upper thighs and buttocks. Your center of gravity is over your feet as it would be when you stand. This is the balanced seat.
I think it would be fun trying to ride the record times of racecourses around the world, add in some VR👍🔥
This is so cool!!
I love it!
Very interesting video, lots of food for thought.

I agree, Matt!! Challenge!!!!
I would think the canter would feel odd, being so centre forward. I have a favoured lead of canter and so do my horses but removing favouritism, a canter to the left is different to one on the right lead anyway. I assume the canter wouldn't have a lead on this machine? Or is that something I missed?

You can’t hide from the Simulator. As a regular user of one of these simulators, it is worth the investment and the regular feedback has improved my riding out of this world.
Maybe this what I need at home. I'm currently in the process of retraining my body because I've learned to ride with the wrong muscles/parts of my body so I feel like this would help.

I’ve always felt I would like a simulator but I can see a real horse would be as much fun!
In the trot, you could see you were using your hands too much because the horse was swinging his head from side to side. Or maybe that's just the way the horse moves in the trot and it's not your hands pulling his head from side to side. I don't remember that. And yes I have written one a dressage one and one who jumped a Grand Prix course I almost came off on that. Lol
I love horses like a lot but atlest when you get on this horse you don’t have to worry about getting thrown off lol 😂
