Hey bro, nice to see Wisconsin is enjoying some pleasant weather (Saskatchewan isn't)... That claw thingy you found at 10:26 is a locking pin that railroads used to clamp onto the bottom of rail to hold them in place while on bridges. The rails tended to move and wander with the bridge as it rose and fell with the temperature, so these brackets kept the rails in check so that the trains were not dealing with bumps or possible derailments... And that can you found at 19:30 held what I'm thinking was block winterizer, which kept your fuel lines and cylinders from freezing during the winter. I've never seen it in a can like that, but because it's got a barcode on it, it has to be from the 1970s onward. I'm thinking that someone winterized their big block Chevy Camaro or Ford Mustang GT with that!

Anyway, i loved the natural interaction with the guy in the first few minutes. Other channels i watch 😢 talk over and ignore the public wanting info. Keep it up and Stay Safe. ❤ Edit. Your local knowledge, and your assessments of the area regarding scrap honey holes, is amazingly accurate.

I had to look it up, but it seems like slag was used to fill in potholes and other stuff, so people find slag everywhere, even where people arent currently around. Slag is insanely cheap, 31 bucks a ton, but they do form from a bunch of silicates and impurities in the steel making process which is why they look like a gem when cooled. Super awesome pieces, maybe you could talk to your scrapyard now that they know you about maybe getting better money for things like mufflers because you arent stealing them, obviously, they might be able to cut you a little better gas money if they let you
