You must be careful with rear brakes. First you must release hand brakes by unscrewing hidden bolts under corcs from inside. They are regulates automatically. Good luck. I am driving SAAB 900 over 30 years. Now I have three ones. One of them real SPG
as a Swede i would love to see this car getting fixed. I love Saab and always will.

For a DIY-er cars like these are better than a pristine one because you don't have to worry about ruining a perfectly good car. This gives you the freedom to try things that you wouldn't try otherwise on a car that hold more value. And by exploring your imagination and applying it to this car you might end up with a pretty cool build. This is what i learned when i bought my clapped out SAAB 9-3. It was rusty and the paint is terrible but that lack of care gave me the freedom to express myself and experiment on the car. I learned to weld on it, i learned to do bodywork on it, and soon i'll try repainting the entire car in my (soon to be) new garage. The inherent lack of value in the car gives me the freedom to be myself and i hope you find that sort of freedom in this car also.
I’ve owned three 900 turbos. Each one left me weeping into my wallet… but I’d do it again!
The easiest way to recognize a B202 (2.0 liter) from a B212 (2.1 liter) is from the intake manifold. The 2.1 has thicker inlets. Looking at this one, I think it's a regular 2.0 liter. There are also special 2.1 16 valve badges, but I'm not sure if those were mounted on all years.
Being a Swede, with a soft heart for Saab 900 gen 1, I really honour you for taking on the challenge to salvage this modern classic! Good on ya!
I loved my 900. Can’t wait to see if you can bring it back. I’m scared by all that rust. I would love to see you start from a bit more solid base. Congratulations on 100k
as a Saab owner, I love to see these videos Congrats on 100k!

My favorite car of all time!! I’m so excited to see what you’ll do with it!! Congrats on 100k!
I literally cheered when I saw you were working on a Saab! Perfect car for this channel.
As a saab fan and owner, looking forward to see the evolution!
Very wise that you have opted to wait for the paperwork situation to get sorted. You definitely don’t want to pour money into a car you can’t register. That is the very definition of a money pit. Really liked the idea of this project, looks like there is going to be a lot of body work is this series!
4:50 damn 120€ for a day is quite a lot if you ask me. I remember renting a trailer for a day to haul a car some 200km home and it cost me 15€. And it was a well kept, dual axle trailer with a manual winch.

15euro keep dreaming, not in the benelux bro. 15euro servicefee, 75euro for 4 hours, 120 for the day is more like it. 15euro maybe in afrika

Man, comparing this to the old volvo, saabs don’t age that well. Gonna be a hell to restore. Good luck and i look forward to the next videos of it.
Absolute legend! Got a ‘93 900 Classic as well and really looking forward to this serie! About the rust: Klokkerholm makes direct inserts for the rear fenders and the front frame rails. The fender is a bit of a difficulty unless you go with just a fixerupper by welding in some new arches pieces. Look for holes in the spare wheel housing as well. Good luck! These are fine engines and the non-turbo will probably outlive you.
A great project. Good luck with it. A big compliment to your father too. It's nice when your father is not only a father but also your friend.
the amount of the support which you've getting from your father is fantastic. wish I could've had someone like him in my life. congrats for 100k.
On that brake caliper; there’s a little 6 point 14mm bolt that covers an allan bolt that you use to retract the piston. Don’t try to push or turn it in! When reinstalling you use that same allan bolt to set the handbrake
The 99 is my personal favourite. I had a 1984 99GL 4-door until about 2006. Kind of wish I had kept it but I’ll enjoy seeing its sister the 900 being reborn. I have a bit of a love hate thing with the 900 but I like the brand, along with BMW and some VWs, so you know why I like your channel! My dream would be a 99 turbo. Congrats on 100k. Will be watching - wheel arches were always a Saab weak spot! Gonna be fun!
Wow! 100K with a bang. Really look forward to seeing one of my favourite but sadly obsolete brand come back to life.
Sitting for almost a decade and the brakes are still free ! That’s Swedish engineering 👍🏻 nice project and congrats for making the 100K 🌈🍾

I absolutely love these 900’s! Got to be one of my favourite cars, can’t wait to see the progress on her and is so good to see another one being put back on the road!
Being a Saab owner, I honestly guessed that you will start Saab project one day :D Looking forward to continuing work on this 900! Greetings from Ukraine!
This is going to be great to follow. 900s are great cars, very Saabish! Its looks like you got a 91, be aware when you are searching for the center console around the key that you need one from 91-93 (or 94 cab) because the 91s got seats from 9000 so the console is slimmer. And when it came to the engine you find the number on the engine block near the termostat house. You can also check the VIN for wich engine the car original had, digit 8 in VIN will say D for the 2.0i and E for the 2.1i. And if I remember right there is some changes when it came to ECUs and wiring because Saab changed the throtlepotentiometer and AIC-valve. B212 have Bosch LH2.4.2 and the late B202s have LH 2.4.
I've been driving Saabs for 35 years, with a 1991 900 SPG (Aero 16 in Europe) and 2001 Viggen convertible currently part of my fleet. These cars are robust, but do require regular maintenance to keep them happy. Getting the engine going again should be pretty simple - assuming that it was not taken off the road because of some serious damage.

Hey! I drove a 1991 SPG for over 6 years, until 500k and loved it.. and did resell it in good shape, no rust, no problem. Fantastic car as long as regular maintenance is provided. This is no Yaris..
Wow, roadtrip to Sweden! Hopefully the car makes it 😁 I welcome both you and the car with open arms though!
Congrats on reaching 100k subs Memphis, and rightly deserved if you ask me! This was one of your best episodes yet - really high quality, informative, entertaining, and just a really great video all round! Cannot wait to see how this Saab 900 Classic progresses!
Oh yeah roadtrip to Sweden, what a good idea ! There's the Saab Museum over there, I really want to go over there with my Saab, that would be so epic 😁
Great upload, and congrats on the 100K subs 🙂 Best regards from a car detailer from Norway.
I'm David from California, been watching your videos for a long time and have really enjoyed it. Love your content. The new addition of the SAAB will be a challenge but I am sure you will transform it to be a nice ride. Cant wait to see the transformation. I've been working on a old classic myself, it's a 1959 Hillman Minx Special Saloon. Congrats on reaching 100k. Take care
Glad you saved such an iconic car. Looking forward to this restoration 👌🏻
So happy for you, man! Congrats on your 100k, totally deserved! Wish you further success!!!
Saab 900 is one of the best cars ever buildt (at least in my opinion 😁) I wish you the best of luck!
WOW! I love it! I have to admit it looked pretty terminal at first sight but if anyone can give it a new life, you can. Your videos inform and entertain and I’m so stoked you got to 100k subscribers. Really well deserved. If ever you tire of being the best car guy on KZread, I think there’s a glorious career as a comedian waiting for you 🤣🤣🤣
Life is too short for rusty cars. Loved it when you said you would leave that rusty bit, because a depression was coming on! Good channel. Peace be unto you.
Congrats! You deserve a lot more! Keep the good work as always! The best present for the viewers is this 2door 900! Looking forward
Looks like an interesting project. I bet you can fix all the rust - it looks a bit more extensive than the BMW, but not impossible for one with your skills. Good luck with it - I've never really been a Saab guy, but I'll be watching anyway, as I enjoy your channel quite a bit!
Great project in deed!! A big congratulations on your 100K milestone! 👊🏼 We are all looking forward to seeing you reach the 1/2 million mark soon! Good job.
Hello from the United States. My local junkyard recently got a 1988 Saab SPG that is Edwardian Grey in color with Buffalo grey interior which is in about the same condition as yours. Unfortunately when our local junkyard receives vehicles there is absolutely zero chance of saving it. I'm restoring my 1988 Saab c900 turbo vert manual. My car sat garaged for many years and needed complete clutch replacement, slave cylinder, flywheel resurfacing, rear main seal, Idle air control valve, thermostat, coolant hoses, rack and pinion rebuild, motor mounts, new tires, headlight restoration, power steering pump rebuild, etc. Stay with it and you can make it happen. These b202 engines are very robust and last many years.
"Glory hole" that got me dude 😂 I love a saab. My uncle had a few of the turbo versions. Cool cars
Direkt från Trollhättan! Good project, Sweden approves :]] Thank you from sweden.
Saab 900 is one of the best cars in history imho. Practical, comfortable, and ingenious design features.
🤣🤣 in rust we trust 🤣🤣 congrats with the 100K!! And succes with Saab
Congratulations on 100K ! Well deserved. Looking forward to the saab project. Fingers crossed you get the paperwork sorted.🤞🏻
Congratulations Memphis on 100k been with you from the beginning keep smashing it out the park 👍🇬🇧👍🇬🇧
Hell yeah man. Congrats on the 100k! I’m also super pumped about this Saab. I love these cars so much. They’re so quirky and weird
congrats on the 100k man! you deserve every single subscriber because your content in absolutely amazing!
4:44 A Luis Simões truck is on the oncoming lane, i feel so refreshed seeing companies from my country (portugal) appearing in videos of other countries!!!!!
What a milestone, congratulations on the 100k SUBS. Looking forward to the SAAB rescue project and yes it immediately needs a wash.
The first time I ever saw a Saab was back in 1989 I started a new job at VW, Mazda, & Saab dealer. When I first glanced on a Saab I feel in love, back then and now I wish I owned one.
Congratulations on 100k pal, great to see. You make some top video content so its well deserved 👍🏼
At the video start.. that's awesome!! Woot 100K!! Congratulations!
Congrats dude! You have absolutely earned it. You got me on the Volvo project and I've been a fan ever since. Here's to 200.000.🍻🥳❤
Had a Saab 99 as a first car. Got into a minor collision too. The pickup I hit had it's whole side pushed inwards. There was no damage on the bumber of the Saab :D. Tank of a car, but a terrible mpg.
I'm more of a volvo-guy, but my dad had saabs (good memories of 99GL and 900i, when I was a kid). Great cars and I think the saab-guys are having a field day with you. Just look for the comments, saab-guys know their shit - pay attention to them, you'll have tons of help from them.
I had three of these, back in the day, including turbo. The gearbox was the weak point. The reverse fork would break and the bearings and sync rings would wear very quickly. Lovely cars.
Congrats my guy !!! Well deserved!
Greetings from Saab Club Poland member :) Nice crocodile!
I love my 900 turbo! One of the best cars Ive ever owned, and it’s pretty quick too. Congrats on 100k!
Loved the Saab 900, that bit different with the input of the aircraft industry. Looking forward to seeing you bring it back to life.
19:54 Very professional 👍😂
good luck mate, your gonna need it! lot of work ahead of you!
Looking forward to following this great project Memphis👍👍👍
That's one crispy motor.....ready for its place in any junkyard.
🎉🎈 congratulations on your 100k, totally deserve it dude. Be good to watch your progress with the Saab, and was cool to see James May's Mazda Xedos collection. 🤘🍻
Remember being here when you got that BMW and been following ever since. Honestly for the commitment you have put in you deserve a million let alone 100k subs. Congrats and keep the fantastic work going 🎉🎊❤️
Really looking forward to this one. Those driveshaft tunnels / front chassis rails can be very tricky so good luck!
Awesome choice man!! Looks great that Saab! Also congratz on the 100k!!
Looking forward to this project. Congratulations on the 100k.
Ooh!! This one looks really special. Congrats on the 100k landmark!
Congratulations! Well deserved!
Funny things happen in life. I am doing a 900 revival project too. Exactly as you said, I did not know too much about this brand, but a friend of mine is a big saab lover. And I tried it, drove it, and now I like them too. Ours is a less desirable one. The never model. And much less work needed. I get inspiration and good ideas from your videos. Thanks
Was hoping it might have been a Turbo. Looking forward to watching the resurrection of this rough Swede. Mega congrats on 100K subs, that’s brilliant. Cheers 👍

Congratulations on the milestone and the new project. Looking forward to more of each.
Awesome, always hoped you will rescue a Saab one time :) So excited to see and follow. You will need some faith, given the condition of this one :) The driveshaft tunnel of the body at 18:58 is one of the most common 900 problem-body-parts in countries with salty winters, but as its a "typical" problem for the 900, there are luckly enough repair panels available at Saab specialized parts dealers! But to be fair, it's quite some work to do :)
I´ve had 12 of these along the way. Last one last year (model year 1988) which I worked for 7 months and it is now museum registered and sold to a car enthusiastic´s collection. Best car in the world. Or at least closest to my heart...
Cool beans man 👍. 100k congrats too. 👍👍
I really enjoy your videos. They are the perfect balance of an affordable project but with good results.
You Flemish are a good people! Three decades back I was arrested and locked up briefly in Oostende for "acquiring" and "redistributing" Moet and Chandon for a reasonable remuneration. Myself, and partner in crime were driven around Oostende in a police minibus as a Shame Tour which we thought was hilarious!!! We waved at all the onlookers in royal-fashion! PMSL!!! The locals (aside from our "enterprise") were extremely hospitable, and saw us Welsh as a novelty! We rarely had to buy a drink, so thank you Belgium, and I'm sorry for "grabbing an opportunity" where perhaps I shouldn't have!
This car is getting a big comeback from the film "Drive my Car" featured it as a main setting for the story.
"You F*d up" "oh no what are you doing!" i thought it at the beginning of the video, and i still think it at the end. Go Memphis Go!!
Congrats on 100k from Massachusetts, US!!! Love the Saab!

I'm looking forward to this project! Skandix has repair panels for the structural rust under the driveshafts, and a bunch of other panels.
