I adopted a 9 year old dog and sadly she passed away after 2 weeks but I know we gave her a great last 2 weeks
I admire her and her staff so much. Thanks for bringing awareness to this cause.

Adopted a 14 year old toy poodle with severe arthritis Jan 2018. Love him to pieces. He has my mom's birthday! His senior owner passed away and family member dropped him off at my local shelter. Sleeps with us and am SO HAPPY he's with us!!! He's a real lovebug.
senior dogs need more attention, they are just as adorable and loving as puppies :3

Sitting here crying hard, but not because I'm sad...because this is wonderful, and I fully believe that older dogs don't get enough recognition, even though they have full lives and histories and stories to tell. I just recently adopted a senior pet and I wouldn't trade him for anything. He is still so full of life and spunk and I don't care if I only had 3 weeks or 3 years with him. Knowing he is loved to the moon and back and safe and fed is enough for me. This is a wonderful organization.
Senior dogs and cats are the best kept secret of a shelter. They make great pets and are great for older folks who maybe worried about not being able to care for a young dog for the next 15 years. The past 2 dogs I have adopted have both been over the age over 10 and the only problems with adopting a senior dog is that your time with the your precious animal will be shorter.

This is so true. We have adopted a 10 month old dog but our next dog will have to be older because we will by then be too old to adopt another young dog.

So well said!
the oldest dog ever lived was 29 years old. my dog is already 13 years old and started showing signs of weakness. i've changed her diet, gave her all natural senior dog food, gave her vitamins, treated her cataract and replaced her bed with orthopedic bed. she's now showing signs of improved health plus a happy and loved dog will make a good pyshological effect on her. i felt that 15 years may be her maximum years but because of proper care, not to mention expensive care, i'm gunning for my dog to live to 18-20 years. it's so easy for others to abandon a senior dog and buy a new one but for me and my dog, we have spent a decade together and i wouldn't trade the memories
Every dog deserves to be loved. They're the angels that walk on this earth, innocent and filled with love
My dogs are seniors and everyday I tell them they are worthy of kindness and love. I hug and caress their sweet faces daily. I love this woman's mission. We all need to remember they are not puppies forever. They however are our pets and we should love them till the end.
I adopted a 15 year old dog. He was with me for 16 wonderful months. He was my first dog. It's been 6 months since I've had to say goodbye and I miss him everyday. He was the most lively 16 yr old dog you would ever meet, even barking at the neighbors dogs on his last day. I miss you Alfie
This is so embarrassing--I literally just started crying in the library. This was the wrong choice of video for a study break... yet I still don't regret watching it at all.

I adore senior dogs !! No less love from them, maybe more. A dog that's in old age should expect to have a HOME and saving these sweeties is so wonderful. Their past homes may not have been ideal, or an unforeseen issue happened, but now they find themselves with out a human. How sad. But, this gives them their second chance, and they so deserve it. THANK YOU Muttvile and Sherri for filling this need. p.s. I had two senior dogs in the past that lived to 17 and 21. Good years.
Sherri Franklin, you are awesome. wish I could give you a hug as big and as loving as all the hugs you give your dogs. I rescued a lhasa and 2 shih tzus; one who was approximately 3.5 yrs old, deaf and looked awful. I chose him because he looked so miserable, that I knew I had to get him out of there. 13 yrs later, he is still here with me at the age of almost 17. deaf, almost blind, but not in pain, is well-loved, and still loves to cuddle. I always tell everyone never to pass up a dog at a shelter that has a medical issue as long as you can financially provide, and have the love and heart for.
God bless you for saving these beautiful loyal companions!!!
This makes me so happy. Whenever I see an old dog at the pound I volunteer at I get so sad knowing that's probably where they're going to spend their last days.
You are an amazing person, thank you for making their life a lot better and hope you can find them a loving forever home 🏡
We adopted a 9 year old,now 15,still loving his walks!

;-; I wasn't crying for the whole video really (Actually crys for a whole hour) It's soooo sad I'll adopt every one there ;-; but I have three dogs ;-;! She deserves something big !! I LOVE THESE KIND OF PEOPLE!!!
In the past 3 years we have rescued 3 senior dogs and 1 senior cat, also one 6 month old cat. Plus was given a 7 month old puppy as a gift. We had to put down Annie a couple of months ago due to old age, she was starting to fail and her life quality had really dropped. But knowing the last 2 years of her life was full makes it ok. She was loved and spoiled by us.
That's what a good human being is like! Thank you Sherri Franklin you are a hero indeed!
This is Muttville! They do wonderful work. They have rescued many many dogs since they started!

Very nice. We adopted a senior dog, estimated to be about 10 years old. We had him for a year and a half before he became ill and had bouts of pain. We had him put down so he would suffer anymore, but he gave us a wonderful 1 1/2 years, and we did the same for him. Despite the heartache of losing him, we would do it over again in a minute.

I live far away from California, but enjoy watching the Muttville videos. I recently adopted 2 local seniors, 14 and 16 years old, because Muttville reminded me: old dogs still have a lot of life and love left in them! After a period of adjustment, they integrated well with my other dogs and life is good for all of us. Thank you, Sherri Franklin, for the wonderful job you do!

What an inspiring lady saving these poor mites. So uplifting.
My husband and I tend to adopt either adult or senior dogs from the shelter. They’re awesome.
I wish more people would take in senior dogs, I had to cry and have very serious talks with my boyfriend just to get him to realize how it's better for them (senior dogs) to spend the rest of their lives with humans who love them, and will make it worth their while.... Anyway we adopted a sweet little old man dog whose 9 years old, he's the sweetest dog I've ever had and I hope he sticks around for a while longer. He's a blessing ❤️
May God bless this woman, and the entire team working with her
This makes me realize there are people with good hearts..willing to help the unwanted dogs or the ones left behind. Thank you so much.
people like her truly have hearts of gold
I just adopted senior dog little over a month ago. Just had to get him put to sleep 2 days ago. I didnt want to, and tried everything to hear something else could be done for him. But didnt work out that way. Even though i had him for such a short time, i still miss him as if id had a lifetime with him. While it sucked to have to have him put down, it would have been cruel on my part to make him continue living with his misery also. Im just glad he died knowing someone wanted him, instead of alone in a cage somewhere unwanted by anyone. R.I.P Sammy. Im just sorry i couldnt have come along alot sooner in your life
You beautiful human being
wow I never thought about this. I am glad someone is taking care of these dogs. Why would someone euthanize their dogs just because the dog got old?
I always take old or disabbeld cats from the shelter. They are so loving! I will do this as long as I live en stories like this makes me so happy to see. It melts your heart. Thank you so much Muttvile for all you do!

God Bless you and Muttville, you're Angels.!!
I want to adopt a dog, especially an old one. Can't wait to be at that point in my life where I can offer a great retirement place and family to a dog in need.
Amazing work for the Dogs. I adopted a dog too and i can't imagine my life without her!!!
Thank You great humans 💙💙🙏🙏💙🙏
It's nice you don't keep them in cages, that way, even if they never find a home, it's like they have one! Thank you for doing what you do.
Dogs are the best things ever and this women is an angel
I love senior dogs. They are so gentle and calm and loving!!! I would adopt a senior dog over a puppy any day
I adopted my dog from there! Shes an angel!
I love senior dogs they are so sweet and loving I will adopt a senior from my shelter I adopted two dogs from my shelter and I have three rescues I saved
God bless you for hour kindness towards this babies
You are awesome, I rescue seniors and love them to pieces.
old dogs are so sweet, calm and smart. a delight to have around. rescue one and you will be rapid ten-fold.
This is so wonderful. It reminds me a lot of the cat shelter I volunteer at in North Hollywood, Heaven on Earth for Animals. It's so much better meeting a potential family pet in a room with other animals in it as well to test their temperament.
Thank you for existing. I am so lucky to live in berlin with a great no kill shelter and no strays. It would just hurt too much to know that so many pets get euthanized.
You chould be very proud! Almost crying over here because you are such a beautiful person!
I take in whatever stray comes my way.

If everyone was like this in the world the world would be so better she should be soo proud of her self

she's an amazing person, my husband and I adopted an older dog and the love they have to give is incredible. no matter how sick he was in the beginning he always seemed to grateful to be with us ❤
I do this with senior kitties and medical problems. Love those oldies😊😊😊
i love this so much, we need more people like her
This was so beautiful! Had tears in my eyes 😊
Thank you and God bless you for helping these babies
So glad I volunteer here!
What a mission. What a commitment. Your awesome.
thank you for saving all these homeless dogs :-)
I had a older dog, had him for seven years, got him in 2010, I did not know his exact age...the vet estimated that he was two years....but I think he was older than that. He had a heart murmur and he passed all of a sudden last month, a valve ruptured in his heart, which caused internal bleeding. I miss him very much. I have nothing against senior dogs, I would get one, but I wouldn’t have that much Tim with him or her. But I hope that I could adopt a yorkie puppy from a shelter.
This lady is an angel.Thank you and God bless.
Good for you - old dogs need happy homes too, Peace and love.
Wow she's awesome! God bless her! These dogs are so cute 😭😭💕
