@@JohnnyAppleseed-yl6fo Any stake you buy costs 15% more. So if you want to buy a 10% stake, you have to pay 11.5% of the buyin. Strong players charge markup, because they're worth the investment. 15% is a pretty significant markup.

Never cared to look. I know he does very well at our local casino, basically earning a 2nd income there, mostly in cash games.

Holy false equivalence Batman! Nothing good comes from meth, or other hard drugs like that. There is a possible upside when staking someone in a tournament. I think the best case right now for that is Jeremy Becker in the WSOP. I'm sure there are plenty of others, especially those who were staked in the recent $250K, and made money. There is always risk, but at least it's just money, not your life.
