This Xbox Repair was a MISSION!

Ғылым және технология

I paid £45 for a faulty Xbox One S on Ebay, with the hopes of trying to fix it! I didn't expect to see what I did, was I able to fix it? 👀

This was really hard! max respect for your work. If I can give you an advice, stop scratching traces with a blade, try a grinding pen. I gotta one on aliexpress cheap as always, usb C rechargeable and with a lot of tips. 3 speeds, works like a charm and I haven't recharged It yet! No sponsorship of course ( I don't even remember the brand... but it's not big and heavy like a dremel... it's light and small!)

@@JoeyDoesTech actaully chemical removal of solder mask is the recommened method d.c.m. and a q-tip trust the last thing you want to do is accidently scratch/grind through anything also that board should be checked for electrolytic capacitor damage also 450 is too hot you could damage silicon beyond its rated heat flux maximum

Wow, great job Joey! If a board is as badly damaged as this, makes you wonder how badly damaged the donor board must have been. I was sure this one was only going to be any use a a donor or for the dustbin. 👏

Seeing you repairing/cleaning the components and the motherboard is satisfying to watch, the transformation is incredible! When I heard the One S turn on my eyes basically lit up and then the startup screen.. wow, great job! Every time I see a console this messed up, I wonder how the hell it happened. How could you let it get this dirty? When I opened my old GameCube for the first time over 15 years after I got it, it didn’t have this much dust, same with my other Nintendo and Microsoft consoles. I treat my consoles and PC as if they are my children. The only console that ever broke for me, was the white 360 with the whole “ring of death” debacle. Sure, tech sometimes breaks on it’s own and accidents happen, I’ve experienced overheating and broken parts with my old laptops/PCs but I still have almost every piece of tech I’ve ever bought. Even though a lot of them are more than dated, they still look as if I just pulled them out of the box. 🤷🏻‍♀️😄 I think it’s important to take care of your stuff and you clearly do that and I love how passionate you are about repairing these things.

@@JoeyDoesTech haha yes, I definitely had to learn to look after stuff as well but that's normal, kids usually don't think about these things. Yeah, I really cringed when you unpacked the One S. :D But that made it all the more satisfying to watch you repair it! Thanks for providing us with such great content! :)

Nice job! Looked a fun and satisfying fix. The datasheet for the TDP158 chip shows the broken track was to VCC. There's another pin on the chip connected to it, hence the continuity.

Nice one. Take a moment and analyze the corrosion. Always watch out for green because green is copper that corroded away. Solder is white however it turns flaky and grey and ends up black if current passed through. If you are curious to learn about corrosion search electrolysis. Important thing to know is the positive side oxidizes and negative side reduces.

  • @jesusyuca1483
