I try to transform outdated and broken technology into profitable opportunities.
Starting the channel in February 2020, I didn't know how to use a screwdriver. Since then we've come a long way, from learning how to use a soldering iron, to diagnosing electrical faults using a multi meter.
Join me in my attempt to fix stuff and sell it for a profit. Plus you'll get to see me break a lot of stuff on the way 😁

Even though it’s the slim revision…they still haven’t revised the amount of screws jeez 😅
Just send it for warranty
Nice run you had going there Joey, your getting better and better at what you do. Still your a winner in my book. Keep it up
Next streak will be 20 wins for sure
When we had physical Microsoft stores it was very easy to buy broken consoles and get them replaced in person at the Microsoft store.
In the US the warranty stickers means nothing SONY would have to warranty when the sticker is compromised if it is in the warranty period.
Sally!…..NooooooOOOOOOOO!!!!!!’
Tragedy struck today…
Im finna do this once i swap our the hdd to replave it since it is damaged it wont update
All good things, must come to an end. 😥 You'll get the next one! Great Attempt and Video! Thank you. 😀
Buys console under warranty. Continues to set money on fire. 🤷♂
This one console may potentially fix me £1000's of profit when the time comes 😁
@@JoeyDoesTech I admire your optimism, Joey! 👍 Fingers crossed you're right!
WWRJ - Wrong Way Round Joey will be a new saying 😂😂
PS5 Slim and the old PS5 got the same performance ? I'm thing of buying one that's why I'm asking this.
Intentionally losing is crazy
What people do for content.. I would have sent it in for the warranty.
That is nuts!
Why did you even attempt that joey. Easy £110 just post it off and wait for the return unit
Why didn't the seller just send back to sony and get a free repair ?, don't make sense selling for half what they paid I know wouldn't make a decent video but feel u should of just sent back yaself then guarantee to make a profit joey
Hey, love your videos. I was wondering if you could make a video of how to find shorts and all that stuff, thank you!
Stumbled on your channel like 1 week ago, and I've been loving it ever since! Literally gives me the urge to start my own repair shop!
Go Joey, go🎉
I think you put the capacitor in the wrong place.
Almost made it to 10.
Always a pleasure Joey!
I love this serie
Warranty stickers do not mean anything. You are allowed to open the console to clean it. If you start removing chips that is ofc not okay. I don't know how it's in the UK but it should be the same as in the EU.
You cannot remove warranty sticker in EU. Thats why its callee warranty sticker 😅
Doesn't that negate the whole point of a warranty sticker?
@@Mrsina77 In the EU removing a warranty sticker does not void the warranty of a product. The European Commission for Consumer Rights states that warranties are tied to the conformity of the goods - which means not for conditions like warranty stickers (you can remove them).
9:20 I think you put the capacitor in the wrong spot
Finally, the pressure of 13 in a row is too much for me!
Before I watch, good luck Joey! Even if you don't profit you have been on a killer streak
Hey, nice video. What is the multimeter's name that you use may I ask?
When you went to stream footage I knew it was GG, remembered that stream suddenly and was sad. Sally will bounce back!
Keep the faith Joey.
9:20, I dont think that cap goes horizontal there, I think it went vertical in the spot below it.
I think the cap is right there, look at the other empty spaces, they look exactly the same as the one below you mentioned, but not the spot where joey put the cap, that was flat as if there was something before
I see what you mean, but it's the same cap from 04:50 but the board is the opposite way around. You can see at 04:50 that the pads are indeed factory and have never had a component on them, whilst at this time stamp look at the pads to the top right and they are the same 😊😊
Another ps5 shows how terrible they really are glad I got an xbox series 😂😂😂
Its a sad day D:
warranty sticker shouldn't matter anyway. They can't deny you a repair because of it being "void". But yeah, not great content just sending it away ;)
Can't wait for tomorrows stream joey!
First! Love the vids!
Almost first! Always a pick up to my weekend.
first?
My xbox one s has a faulty hdmi port and it looks like its been through alot, guess thats what i get for buying a used xbox
First Comment! Such a cute Cat! :)
Amazing watching your handywork and tool skills, thank you!
I accidentally pulled a 5 pin ribbon cable and connector off the board when I was disassembling a washing machine. I thought, no problem I’ll take it to a local tech shop that deals with board repairs and they’ll have me sorted. I tried two places, said it wasn’t possible. I paid $300 (nearly the cost of the washer lightly used) to have the board (including entire assembly) replaced. After watching you work and I know now it could have been fixed. I might even have a go at it myself after some more research. If I get it that replacement part is going back to the manufacturer. Side note they make you take apart the entire front end of the washer to get at the drain filter, no drawer or access panel. Anyways, very cool video, I’ve never seen someone actively repair a board like this. I’m only 13mins in but I hope you make good on this purchase
I keep wondering what idiot designed the HDMI port. They are so flimsy and prone to breaking. We had it already figured out in the 90s with VGA which would firmly screw into place....
Great content! Keep it up
Good Job, Started Electronics in The 70's, Went to a Pawn Shop in Vegas, Bought a Fender Twin Reverb, Broken, They said I Couldn't Bring Back, Agreed, As Is, Pulled the Tubes to Test, But Noticed One of the Tube Sockes Had Been Replaced, Also Noticed it Was Installed 180 ° Out. Desoldered The Wires, Rotated the Socket, Soldered Wires Back as They Laid. Tubes in, Worked Like A Charm, Been Doing Ever Since, People Throw Away Anything and Everything. Usually 1 Part, You Get to Work On Everything. Is Broken, Can't Hurt it any more(actually can Make Worse), End Up With Some Cool Stuff. On Ebay, I Buy Broken Musical Electronics, and Locks with No Keys, am Locksmith as Well. Both are Like Puzzles, Trick is to Solve them. Am Sure You Have Stories. Good Work, Take Care,
I guess those donor parts had some associated cost at some point though and if you were just doing this from a shop I doubt the profit per hour would be worth the effort. Clearly the money you make from the content ( even factoring in your time to make the content) is what makes this profitable?
Dont like buying for parts or repair on eBay because times ive explained i pland on repairing the item only to have it come in mangled vs the repairable state on listing. Had 2 different sellers say they can snap the board in half if they wanted but they said it different ways.
Fantastic job, class as usual
