    So if you want hard boiled egg, you boil it for 10 minutes from what I remember. But if you turn off the heat, the water cools down and won't cook the egg properly. So you just made a half-cooked egg (which I used to eat a lot as a kid btw).

  • @drdrdrk

    @drdrdrk

    4 жыл бұрын

    I recently discovered another way to get perfect hard boiled eggs. You put room temperature eggs in boiling water, wait for it to boil again. Then you immediately cover the pan, turn off the heat. And wait 12-13 minutes. At 10-11 you get a runny yolk. And after that you get them out and put in icy water. (I just use cold water) My new favourite way to boil eggs.

    What that machine does is it mix the yolk with the white. You can do that by putting your egg in a cloth and vigorously spinning it. Be carefull so you do not have a flying egg against the wall. If you try to do this a good advice is to puncture a hole in the bottom off the egg with a neeedle so it does not crack like aki's egg did. You also need to watch the cooking time (use a timer) because there is a pretty narrow timeframe between the egg going from raw to creamy to soft to tough. It depends on the size of the egg. It also do not taste like pudding in any of those stages.

    If I had to favour a guess as to what went wrong with the pudding toy, -insufficient instructions for spinning duration/intensity (it likely needs to be spun for a longer time with MOAR SPEED) -not enough water in the pot (ideally, for cooking an egg it's best to ensure the water fully covers it- partially uncovered eggs don't cook as evenly) -Too much plastic wrap (it's likely intended by the instructions for it to use a single layer to act as a pressure buffer between the shell and the water (so it don't kersplode like the 1st egg did)

    The cool towel thingy was very popular in my country a few years ago and oh my goodness it’s literally a portable air conditioner. It’s cheap, easy to carry, very very cool, and it last a long time. Definitely worth it.

    The UV towel is like the Mission Towel here. They work well, used the mess out of mine when Hurricane Florence came thru and we were out of power for a week and forever. Highly recommend those towels for summer!
