Great content as usual!! I appreciate that you continue to give us mortals budget friendly options. It is quite easily to just go to the golf store and pick up a name brand and expensive set of clubs. Sometimes… you don’t know what you don’t know!! Good to save a little coin for the green fees!!

Great video and channel. When I had my custom shop I sold this companies products. The problem with these irons is SMT and other companies like Bang Golf in the late 1990’s and early 2000’s were long drive companies and everything else didn’t get the attention that their drivers got. Their drivers were excellent and folks kept asking for irons, fairway woods, wedges and putters. The companies had great product and customer service, but were what they were Long Driver Companies! Sold a lot of drivers, bags, hats and towels, but not much anything else in the line up.

Since the Takomo’s first came out a lot of companies trying to cash in on irons, but getting that quality for the price doesn’t happen often. Too many KZread golfers try to work the ball more than they should, you do it when illustrating the workability of an iron, but I really appreciate you having that stock draw

Nice review, Gabe! I've had two holes-in-one and a few lip-outs. January 2021 at Shelby GC in Nashville, TN - hole no.11, 152 yards - 6-iron (it was very cold). And November 2022 on hole 16 of Hillcrest CC in Lincoln, NE from 206 yards with a truly atrocious swing with a 4-wood. The second one was very bad, to be honest - right off the heel and an ugly little pull cut that dribbled in. But it's a 1 on the card and that always looks good! I would have had another in 2020, but they had these Covid foam bumpers filling the cups and the ball bumped against it and rolled three feet away. Grrrr.

Been playing since 1995. Only one ace. Was on the first hole at Lake Simcoe Golf and Country Club in 1997. A par 4 at 325 yards. I started my round at 3 under par. I finished at 15 over par. Unfortunately that course no longer exists as it is now a subdivision. I'm happy my Dad was playing with me that day. He still talks about it sometimes as it's one of the rarest occurences in golf.

Great review I wish I would have seen this before I ordered mine! Not sure about the lofts on the set of heads I ordered… the forgiveness issue is one I’ve seen a few times already… 150 out is usually an 8 iron for me… with these smt’s it could be 8… it could be 7 or it could be PW depending on the strike 🤦‍♂️ center strike PW is enough… toe or heel strike… 7 iron might not get me there frustrating for sure but for the money I’ll take it I suppose

I just had my first whole in one on 2-2-24, been playing since 1980! It was a pitching wedge 118 yards at Querbes golf course in Shreveport and it's their 100th year celebration. I enjoy your channel and look forward to your new travel channel as well, cheers.

Two career aces. From 135 with a 9 iron at Balboa Golf Course in Los Angeles, CA (1999) and the second at Braemar CC (also in LA) from 195 with 4 hybrid. (2022).

Hey Gabe. Great video. That company isn’t the only company that’s bad about matching their specs. I know you mentioned that. Everything I get from PXG I check because it’s hardly ever what it says on the website. I love their products, but I feel like their quality control is minimal. I have to always bend or adjust swing weights etc. when I get something in. For the person that didn’t know any better they may think it was themselves when it could be the new clubs they just bought. I think the companies should do better with that. But that’s another reason to get fit.

Great review Gabe. Very honest. Looks like they haven't mastered it like Takomo or Caley. Even throw in the Costco irons as well. I'm hearing rumours we'll never see the Costco irons in the UK. Don't know if you know more than me? Shame if it's true given the price of them.

I'm seriously considering buying a l.a.b. putter. It looks like you're loving it. I'm still debating between the d3, mezz1 and mezz max. I probably won't go custom because of the price, but I love the way the mezz1 rolled at golf galaxy. Thank you for the honest way you review and communicate

I had the df 3 you definitely feel the tech but it came out of the bag for me. Kind of like a fad, you have a honeymoon and grow out of it. Just feels too big and it’s a pain using the cover with the dual straps. Alignment never worked for me either even though i rolled it amazing on quintic. Felt like a cool toy while it lasted.

@@LetsPlayThru I'm still using a 40 year old bullseye putter. I've putted beautifully with it my whole life. Last year I bought a mizuno mallet fang style putter. I used it for a while and enjoyed it, but it couldn't hold up to the bullseye and it's back in the bag

I know it wasn't your intention but that ended up being more of a LAB Golf DF3 video than anything. I'm going to have to look into that model since it seams my putting has become my weak point these days.

Have had 2 aces. First at Jericho Natl par 3 210 with a 3 hybrid. Second at Mercer Oaks East par 3 150 with an 8 iron. I know you didn't ask but my best ever was a double eagle at Jack Frost Natl hole #12 in the Pocono mountains. Par 5 505....driver and then 3 wood...Great channel you have here!

Just a friendly suggestion: when you are evaluating irons, you should tee off from the forward tees and use only irons to the green.

I don't get why doing that is necessary. You wouldn't do that when you are playing. Why not see if the irons will do what they are meant to do?

They "looked promising" but performance is a little yuck. I did have an ace. But it was on the simulators a few weeks ago. I won't count it really. Its a video game lol.

Brutal

I do have an ace. In my second year in golf(4-12-22). I got it at Bob O Link golf course on hole 14. 145 par 3. Used my 7 iron Ping Zing 2, and a red matte Srixon super feel golf ball. Had two witnesses one my neighbor, and a solo we picked up. The ball is in a case on my dresser to this day!🏌🏽
