I have a friend who, after I vent about anything, will ask, "Feelings mode or solutions mode?" for exactly that reason. Sometimes you just wanna let it out! So she only offers advice if I say solutions mode.

My library’s challenge for every month so far this year has been to read 600 minutes. I’m an English major so I had over 1000 minutes read the first week of March. They’ve been the easiest challenges since I started participating again. Although the all year challenge is a “road trip” challenge so basically you just read books that are set in different states in the U.S. and they give recommendations for each state too which is nice.

re: retinol, i use tretinoin prescribed by my dermatologist! check with your insurance but with mine using the prescription is much much cheaper than buying a retinol from a skincare brand

You can also use goodrx if your insurance doesn't cover it. I got a tube that lasted 3 months for around $30

I feel you about the dentist. I hate going so I try and get everything done in as few visits as possible. I hate getting numbed too uuuugh!!! Pain relievers never work for me for teeth stuff either. It's like the nerves there are immune or something. Glad your filling is all fixed though.

I haven’t been on TikTok since December 2022. It truly has been one of the best decisions I’ve made for my mental health. I deleted it so that I didn’t sit on it wasting time while I was off work around Christmas and then loved that I was not spending 1+ hours TOTALLY overstimulated every day so much that it stuck! Hate to say it but it also opened my eyes to at least one friendship that I realized was being maintained solely by sending each other TikToks which isn’t healthy. I haven’t seen that friend for almost the EXACT amount of time I’ve been off TikTok.. 😅

I use differin as my retinol. It does say it is an acne treatment on the box, but you don't need to use it for that, retinol is just used for acne treatments a lot. So you can use differin as a retinol for anti-aging too. If you do try it and have sensitive skin, I'd recommend using it a few times a week at night. 😊

I use a retinol product from skinbetter. The Alpharet clearing serum. It's supposed to be for more acne-prone and oily skin types, but they also have retinol products for other skin types as well.

I’ve been using the Geek and Gorgeous retinal for over a year now and I love it! It’s so affordable and has made such a big difference to the texture of my skin 💗 GnG have slowly taken over my skincare routine. Also your hair is looking fab 🌸

I use Tree of Life Retinol. Just make sure to not jump into using it everyday. I would recommend starting at night because it can also make you skin sensitive. Better to have that at home than out at work!

Look for retinaldahyde over retinol. The furst only has to convery once to the active, the retinal has to convert twice. I buy retinal for my neck and undereyes, less chance of irritation. The Ordinary 2% is good and strong, same wuth Mae Love. ❤

If you already have the liw dose, get the higher dise, but start with once or twice week. You only need a pea size amount. Moisturize over the retinal. Slow and steady wins this race. 😊

@@oliviareadsalattefrom my understanding, retrinaldehyde actually more gentle since it only has to go through one conversion! I made another comment but I use the Avene retrinaldehyde on my sensitive skin and haven’t had any problems with irritation.

Low key I’ve been using the Olay Retinol (and currently looking into others), but it’s a pretty affordable option and I can pick it up at the grocery store. Though honestly I can’t even tell if it works or not 😂 I should have taken pictures when I started a few months ago to track any subtle changes. For now I’m just assuming it does its job.

I honestly try to just keep a solid routine because my acne is hormonal and just works in a cycle every month; I honestly have gotten over having it because we all have pores, it's just a thing that happens! Paula's choice BHA has been great, but keeping a very simple routine of cleanser, moisturizer, and the BHA has been the best. Every time I try to add in a ton of stuff, it doesn't work out!

@mamesjenkins7583 I started out doing twice a week, then every other day, and now every day! But make sure you’re keeping up on moisturizing if you have dry skin; it dried mine out a little a first.

Girl, I take my books with me everywhere I go, even tho I know I won't be able to read them but I just have to. I mean I have a problem, I'm afraid something will happen, Like the apocalypse or something bad will happen while I'm out for a while. I always have a book with me or my Kindle, or both. 😂😂😂

Hi Kayla!!! 👋🏼 honestly, I feel like my tips are lame but I will happily be lame if it helps hehe. I bring a book with me and hold it the whole time; feeling the pages with my pointer finger or thumb is super calming and grounds me. I’ve never had anyone say anything about me doing it, so don’t worry about that. I also listen to music the entire time and that helps the absolute most. I think the main thing is focusing as much as humanly possible on breathing deep and slowly through your nose and feeling that sensation throughout your body can help give your mind so much work to do, since you don’t naturally notice that, that it can’t focus on the scary. I’ve noticed that I essentially meditate when I’m there! Not as calm, but it definitely helps!
