Like DarkRP, there isn't any real roleplay involved. Just people inserting themselves for a power fantasy. Most of these "RP" servers exist soley to have fun at the expense of others, rather then creating a fun narrative.

It depends on what you mean by "so serious" since most of these servers aren't even like the good ol' days of like 2014 Gmod where serious RP just meant heavy RP and actual storyline progressions. Like, remember when DarkRP and PERP had a /me command? Money grubbing is what killed it. But yeah, back when serious RP actually had a story behind it, it was good. Issue now is that there's either old players trying to cling onto the former glory of the era of Jailbreak/TTT/Gmod Tower/prophunt/Hidden/CW:HL2RP etc; or they're people so devoid of meaning in their life that they seek it through Gmod. I'm also saying this from experience as a guy that used to do CW:HL2RP so much that I racked up 1,000 hours on it and was involved in being staff of multiple communities. I don't regret leaving because I still sometimes get nostalgic and wanna go back but I just check the community Discords and see how people are begging to be allowed to have any joy in life and instead stand on a cornerside in a game until they get a chance to type /apply before being beaten down by a power tripping kid.

@@NomTheDom actually its not eclipse, it was a local Greek RP server, they take shit so seriously that I actually cant have like a proper conversation with any of these people, even getting something as simple as the guy's discord ID has to be in a roleplay-ey way, at least in this server, if you break the rules, you go to jail, and dont get banned (unless you cheat/hack)

It amazes me how incredibly dense these people are (in weight and brainpower)

The fact that the guy in the end camped on one guy for “reviving” and shooting Bub in the face every time he stood up really shows how much fun and how much stuff there is to do on these rp servers

It boggles me that RP culture has now streamlined reality in a sense, that there are no more "random" killings. As if that doesn't happen in real life. Like they make their own little fantasy world of what is "Fair or not" to RP and it completely ruins everything. My Favorite example of Fail "Reasonable" roleplay is in The Isle (a game where you literally survive as a dinosaur, get food, water, grow up). There are many servers where you have to WARN other dinosaurs(players) that you are going to attack them. Bitch, if I'm a fucking Tyrannosaurus Rex, hungry, looking for it's next meal, I am NOT going to give my prey a warning of "HEY I'M GONNA ATTACK YOU, GET READY TO RUN!". No. I am going to be sneaky and "unfairly" kill it so I can get my next meal and survive. On mass, people who roleplay are so ridiculous. Little children wanting to live in their own fantasy world where it's only roleplay if things go MY WAY. IT HAS TO GO MY WAY OR IT'S FAIL ROLEPLAY.

more gta please, its just so fun to see those people being so sad after being hit by a car and flying through the air for 5 seconds straight

I don't think that police who calls admin instead of dealing with the problem by himself would be much of a "roleplay".

Glad you were able to salvage some footage when you're having an off day with all the misclicks - everyone appreciates streamers uploading the bad with the good.
