I RAN A HALF MARATHON!

Happy Sunday everyone,
I hope you're all okay and looking forward to this weeks video. This one is a bit of a big milestone for me as I ticked off my first half marathon, something I am super proud of and would like to thank Gym+Coffee for their amazing support.

Watching this in 2023 and hearing you say you’re not a runner is insane! You’re my running inspiration💗

Great job! You did so well. I just ran a half marathon last Sunday - and posted a video about It too. I can totally relate to how you felt afterwards. I’m never taking off my medal ;) well done once again!

Appreciate the toe talk, I had my first black toenail back in August and am still dealing with it (though thankfully it's stopped hurting and is just gross now, lol). For something that is apparently fairly common there's not much talk about how to handle it or what even happens.

:) My friend works at Malmaison in Newcastle and she told me that the Great North Run is the busiest night for hotels in Newcastle even more than Christmas which is why it is so expensive!! I love the North East, I came up here for uni and stayed afterwards - I am not a runner and I'm scared of crowds but I would love to complete this one day - the route seems lovely and I love South Shields :) but bless you for being sick and having to do that - I think you did amazing and I'm proud of you!! I couldn't do that - I can walk for miles but can't run at all!!! Think it is the mental barrier so I think you did great :)

Well done you! I did my first half in May and one thing I learnt was to eat carbs about 20-30mins after… otherwise I would crash and feel ill too.. not cute but we learn

Good half marathon tip is to keep moving after the race, if you don’t your muscles cramp up so bad !

Thank you for showing your feet. It aint pretty and no one talks about it. I have done 2 x 20 milers in preparation for the Brighton Marathon and on my left foot, I have three bruised toenails and my second piggy has done exactly what yours have done, blistered, popped, peeled, gone hard etc. I think the main cause of mine is that I have bought slightly bigger trainers than I need so when I run a marathon my feet can spread. Ultimately though, I have more toe box for my toes to move around in and with all the steps that I am doing, my toes are moving about and getting damage. Anyway, your toes could be a lot worse but its nice to show the people starting out as they may get really worried. Big advice for someone doing their first long race is get your toe nails trimmed up a week before the race. I have seen so many women peel off bloody socks because one toenail has spent 21km cutting in to a neighbouring toe. It is GRIM! You were right to leave the toe protectors behind. You should try nothing new on race day! Anyway, great video x
