  • @ellis1034

    @ellis1034

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@meizind6555 Yes he announced it a couple of months ago, because of a recurring neck injury. He had a bulging disc in his neck that ruptured in 2019, so they fused the vertebrae. Then he had a hell of a recovery journey, he still has nerve damage in his left shoulder (and nerve damage heals really really slowly and sometimes it never fully comes back but it’s too early to tell yet). And then during the first lockdown in March last year he felt like he had a fair shot at the Olympics because he owns a gym so he could train while others couldn’t. But then in the summer he felt the pain in his neck again and he has another bulging disk just a level above where he previously had it, and if he were to have another vertebrae fusion that would be very dangerous for his neck so it is very important that he never has to have that surgery again so the disc absolutely cannot rupture. So he retired, and he’s not going to the Olympics. He has a video on his channel explaining everything and also some other reasons, but the main thing that made him quit was his neck. So when he kept saying that when Eddie punched him he felt his brain hit the back of his skull, I was like nile no your neck! 😂😭

    Eddie Hall doesn't know what he is talking about in regards to punching power. I watched it again, did he really say that he is a level up from heavyweight boxing 😂😂😂. He said a heavyweight isnt a world strongest man and wouldn't knock that gymnast off his feet, yes Eddie is correct. A body shot from a heavyweight to the gymnast might send him to hospital even with the protector on. I actually cant believe what I'm hearing. Heavyweight fighters learn to punch and move their weight to maximize their weight to punch ratio and many punch much harder than someone much bigger who doesn't know how to punch. He said he had been lifting weights for years, and equally those fighters have been practicing those punching techniques for years. I can see he really fancies himself. Get into the ring with a decent heavyweight boxer and lets see how that works out for him. There is a reason boxers dont spend their time lifting weights and building mass because they know it doesnt necessarily build punching power. Eddie can speak in depth about lifting weights but when it comes to boxing he hasn't got a clue. And if he is so sure he punches so much harder than heavyweights then surely he can put on the gloves and fight, because he will get paid much more for a heavyweight title fight than he makes for what he is doing. Which is why his countrymen Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua are presently some of the highest paid sportsmen in the UK, and a strongman doesn't make the top ten list on earnings. I am sure that other big guy Thor is equally as big as Eddie and he fought a cruiserweight a few months back, note I said cruiserweight not heavyweight. Those guys are big but they are not stupid and do not want to get embarrassed. They can fight each other and it's ok a strongman defeating a strongman, but imagine a heavyweight fighter defeating a strongman. The optics of it will look terrible as it seriously damages their credibility of being a strongman, bad for their business. Many big guys think like Eddie but never step into the ring to fight because they stay in the safety of the weight room because weights don't hit back. But yet continue to talk the talk, because most people who dont understand fighting techniques will believe them because it makes sense. Big guy punches hard, huge guy punches harder, right? No wrong. Punching techniques, weight transference, speed of punch and years of practice and experience allows fighters to punch so much harder than a strongman.

    @@cdeanj1110 I am saying that I'd wager Jack can punch about as hard as Eddie Hall, at least at this point in Eddie Halls career. I'll go ahead and provide my logic, however, experimenting with an accurate force detector would be vital to know for certain. The reason I say this is because the size to power ratio in a human has exponential diminishing returns due to the square-cube law (surface area-to-volume ratio decreases as volume increases). This means that Eddie's muscles require too much energy to move his excessive body weight. So basically, a large person will only become more powerful until a certain height and weight, afterwards the amount of muscle required to move the mass becomes greater than the added strength of the muscle itself. This principal can be observed in boxing and MMA constantly, where the skinnier, faster boxers will very often have the most knock outs.

    Hall doesn't punch that hard. Any professional boxer puts him to absolute shame.

    Warning: the warning can be completely ignored, he just has it for legal reasons, don’t actually believe that Eddie thinks you can’t punch each other with a bag and gloves

    My coach says to me if you don't spar you don't fight I don't get why he is not sparring there is so much you learn in a spar that you don't when doing training

    @@oisin7657 its very likely he just isn't showing his sparring sessions. I imagine much like thor its very armature looking, so probably doesn't want to show that off. Also an element of not wanting to show his technique
