@@mstrdiver I'm pretty sure the farmer would have given her a shot of long acting Penicillin while she was in the crush, just to prevent any type of infection from happening. I know that's what I do if the farrier misses the white line and drives a nail into the soft part of the horses hoof. Just as a precautionary measure. The shot lasts up to 3 to 5 days depending on the dose you give. Hope this answered your question. @@lealea8055 If they are Beef cattle, then that's the business. They are raised to be butchered for meat for people to eat. As for Dairy cattle, a lot of Dairy farmers I know, will breed twice a year. One farmer I know has some Dairy cattle that calve out, and then they are milked, and the babies are bottle raised, while the other half of his herd don't get bred until later in the year. This gives them time to dry out and recover from having a calf. Not all Dairy farmers do this, but his herd is very healthy and strong. And he will use 2 different bulls for breeding. So he can hold a bull or 2 back, and then use them for breeding on the other herd he wasn't born into. Because he has different genetics than the other half of the herd, they are able to do this. But one must keep this uppermost on their minds: IT'S A BUSINESS FIRST AND FOREMOST. Best Regards and Stay Safe, from a Retired Paramedic, a S&R Dog and Handler Team Trainer and Horse Trainer in Ontario, Canada, Jenn. 💖 🇨🇦

there are 3 things i love the most about this channel: 1.) you show so much care for these cows. i would be a hoof trimmer if I could come onto a farm without wrenching constantly at the poop everywhere and also without getting sick from whatever might be lurking there I'm sure 2.) your personality is addicting. you are like a friend and you barely know I exist 3.) cows are kinda adorable when they drool everywhere like little dogs, but massive

I'm glad to see that you're using the Binford 200 spike remover on that cow's hoof. Quality tools make for quality results. Remember folks: If it's not Binford, it's crap and scrap.

I'm glad you could help her.having a nail in your foot is no fun. I know from experience. Thanks for showing her face, she's so pretty. I noticed you were showing more faces and I thank you for it. I love seeing the front end too!🐮

I can only imagine the instant relief she got as soon as you pulled that out all the way. I haven't finished watching the whole video yet but if there is any damage, I'm sure the pain is not as bad as it was when the nail was still in there. Removing it most likely did relieve some of that stress on it.

Graeme - you need a multi-tool like the Leatherman Wave. Handy on your hip to pull out nails and teeth out of hoofs.

Bless her little heart 💓 when she was mooing, I was saying “poor baby “ out loud 😂. Because of your heavy accent, or when you get tongue tied sometimes, I think to myself for a split second that English isn’t your first language 😂then I’ll say duh, he only speaks English! 😂😂 🐮🐾🐾
