I think future Chapters of ZI should include more items like the Dual Hookshot that allows Link to cling to one targer then aim at the next, the Magic Hammer which is a weaker yet faster alternative to the Megaton Hammer, and the Roc's Cape which is an upgraded Roc's Feather that allows Link to float in the air after a midair jump.

@@JohnMartin-ll9cw I was told that the Roc's Cape was considered and scrapped because it'd be too difficult to anti-cheese for. For that same reason, you can't use the Roc's Feather while dashing with the Pegasus Boots. The Pegasus Dash does make Link autojump further, though. As for Hookshot variants, I think I'd prefer to see a 3D incarnation of the Switch Hook.

I do like the fact that he took the time to predict player's curiosity and create a fun middle finger at each attempt of outwitting the developer. Like when I saw that chest in the lake area, I knew it was going to explode. I thought it was going to spit out a bunch of lit bombs not just explode.

Hi! I'm one of the devs for Chapter 2, I can't wait to see you cover it (I really hope you do)! This was a great look into the work that started it all. It brought back some awesome memories from playing it for the first time myself!

Ever since I saw Dawn & Dusk covered by H4G i became aware that Zelda ROM Hacks had reached a new golden age. I’ve played D&D, Missing Link, and Sealed Palace. I look forward to play Indigo once it’s finished.

Tony, if you haven't checked out Sealed Palace, please do so. Its very much an "Ura Zelda" is spirit with completely redesigned everything from the ground up, and polished to a ridiculous shine. The environments are even more beautiful than what Nintendo crafted themselves. Its ridiculous how good the map design is from both an aesthetics standpoint, as well as gameplay. Indigo is defiantly the next mod to take Zelda hacking to the next level.

@@andresgsr8357 Any and all aspects of gameplay I found to be very balanced. My only real criticism of the rom hack is that it recycles the same adult dungeon themes. You still have Forest, Fire, Water, Shadow, and Spirit. However, the final dungeon is wholly unique, and way better than Gannon's castle in my opinion. The forest temple for me was another highlight, being most of it takes place entirely outside. My only other criticism I can think of is the story is more or less derivative of the standard game, and feels a little unimportant.

I just love how it takes so much inspiration from Oracle of Seasons and Ages, by using village names, weapons and puzzles. It’s sooo goood!!!

Well done to the modder/team developing this OOT Zelda modification - just ten years ago I would never have expected N64 homebrew to have developed this far - the explosion in knowledge and development on N64 in this past year alone is insane! I watched a video a week ago where one homebrew coder doubled Diddy Kong Racings framerate in single and multiplayer on real hardware through code optimisation, added all the graphical features back into four player mode and optimised it to run at a higher framerate than Single player vanilla - exciting times!

That is pretty cool that one of the most under appreciated miniboss from majora's mask gets to be the end one on the demo. :D That guy was really cool but really weak in MM.

Pegasus boots and and Roc's Feather, so someone is a fan of Triforce of the Gods and Link's Awakening.

Having a second set of C-Item slots is genius and helps the game be far less tedious than even the solutions introduced in the 3DS version. Equally the addition of the Pegasus Boots and Roc's Feather is brilliant and really opens the game up to new ways of exploration and saving time in navigating places especially large open areas that take longer without the ability to run. The small moments of breaking the 4th wall, I'm here for it and don't mind as some Zelda games find ways to incorporate that without being excessive or annoying so if in it's done with taste for the most part. Funny thing is when it comes to hacks/mods I've never considered them with classic 3D games and have only done so with 8-Bit or 16-Bit games. So thanks for the heads up as I may try this soon. 😃

I saw someone play this last year and sooo wanted to play it. Sadly I could only homebrew my Wii to save a legit copy of pot on the GameCube. If I could’ve gotten a legit copy of n64 Zelda to play all of these cool mods that existed I totally would. This one in particular was the first one out of a few that truly inspired me and made me want to play more games like this and even learn to mod.

Couldn't agree more! The thing about Indigo is that I would still be satisfied if it stopped right here. I had so much fun being stuck in the first demo's dungeon. It reminded me of my first experiences with the adult temples as a kid!

D-pad down to toggle the items? How are you supposed to reach that button? Shouldn't it have been C-Up?

one of my favorite things in this is the just went and imported Gomess from Majora's Mask. like, who does that? also its my most favorite mid-boss in all the Zelda games. also, fuck yeah Pegasus Boots in a 3D Zelda game. even if its not official, i wanted to see ANY interpretation of what it would be like. closest thing we ever had was running a little faster with the Bunny Hood. edit: as an aside, i find Missing Link to be real silly to even consider taking it seriously as a story connection. most especially its ending. when i first saw i it i just laughed so hard.🤣

Its the only hack with new items that isn't missing link and they share a developer

Looks like a normal outfit to me.
