It’s funny how universally connected we all seem to be I had the same urge to play this game about two weeks ago and I’ve been on it almost nightly, and I have literally told my fiancé how I have not had this much fun playing video games since I was a teenager. I’m a 33-year-old crusty man now haha

Blast from the past. I really miss playing uncharted 2 & 3 online. My best memories from playing online on the PS3. I put in so many hours in those games. Also the legendary GTA 4. How can I forget about GTA 4 online. So much more fun than 5.

I remember entering a Red Dead Online lobby on PS3 and was suprised how many people still play the game online even to this day. At one point I got a weird glitch where I got a max level and I got a trophy for it. But I remember I still had a lot of fun playing the game online, it just shows that older online games are more fun, because developers always focused on gameplay first, then making the game ultra realistic. Even though I personally prefer single player games, I do miss the old gen online gaming that we used to have.

I believe to play the games online with the fan made servers you don’t need a jailbreak or any CFW, all you have to do is change your DNS in network settings to the private server.

6:40 Resistance and Motorstorm only need a DNS change No mods required

Funny you chose these two games because I remember getting both of these games for Christmas back in 2010. Good times.

I'm going to my parents today actually to retrieve my ps3 and play gta4 online because there's still relevance to this console

It’s crazy to go down memory lane it feels good

I started playing PlayStation three again about two years ago. Playing games like call of duty there were some people in lobbies but not that many. When I got back into it over the holidays playing call of duty ghosts there are tons of people playing again lobbies are full and I checked the other call of duty games and they are very similar. My understanding is that they are being run by private servers now? But definitely worth playing! I find the graphics are drastically different than the PS4. Great Video and thanks for bringing that to everyone’s attention.

Warhawk was pure awesome back in the day. Its still awesome today thanks to community hosted servers 👍

I am playing killzone 2 socom 1-3 and confrontation on my ps2/3 and Warhawk and Star hawk and resident evil ORC we out here having a blast. I been getting back to my ps3 a lot laity bought 12 games for it that I didn’t play in that generation this is the most I had in a long time. I am going back to the old cod now on PS3 hopefully I can get into KZread, you make me want to try now to start it just going back to these older generations so much better and fun.

Grew up with the 360 but eventually brought a ps4 and after years i really wanted to experience a ps3, best purchase

I still play the ps3. I bought another one 2 years ago since our old one broke 9 years ago. my older brother and I shared accounts so asked my brother if he remembered the email and password and after like an hour was able to sign able to sign in and play again.

Bought a slim at Christmas and it’s one of the best things I’ve ever done. It’s the happiest I’ve been gaming in over a decade. I’ve hardly used Multiplayer on the last two Gens but I’m playing CoD loads and loving the community. So many great games that have aged well and still look amazing

Destiny on here is a great time capsule as it didn't get the Rise of Iron DLC, so it has the meta that was available then, which is neat to go back to. PvZ GW is very populated on PS3 & worth going back to play as well, tons of fun!! And tbh I like the vibe of the setup for showcasing the gameplay instead of direct footage, it adds to that nostalgia factor being able to see the PS3 while it's in front of the PS5

Nothing will ever beat 360 online for me but damn uncharted 2 and 3 online was some of the best multiplayers I played on ps3. I miss it. Happy black ops my favourite cod got tons of players on 360 not long ago and good to see people still play it on ps3.

I read that the servers are still up for Fat Princess. They were up for Operation Racoon City too, at least they were last year when some random person joined my campaign, lol. We were probably equally surprised.

Bf3 and Bf4 are still great fun on ps3 plenty of players

COD BO1 is the only one I know that the rank resets. COD BO2 you have to go play a game not signed into PSN, you either have to choose PvP or zombies go play, quit, then while still on the pre lobby sign in to PSN. COD BO3 I only been playing zombies on and they still have a server error when there's to much processing but its playable. COD ghosts is still playable PvP/extinction (aliens). I believe Need for speed rivals is still going. Bullet storm no longer has multiplayer. Mass effect 3 PvP is offline. Destiny 1 is still pretty alive, even been getting new players for the last five years. I believe COD 4 MW, Mw2, Mw3 are still active for PVP also. Activision openly admitted to me they intentionally caused issues with bo1, bo2, bo3, Advanced warfare back in 2017+ when a complaint was filed with them about the issue for a new player on them .

Gta v also still works on the ps3 , a server called gta og revived the online mode and its really active and fun

there are alot of games where you can get online with vanilla internet settings and some dead games you can play if you change to certain settings.

I remember finding a lobby on last of us online , pretty cool

Resistance 1 online was a great multiplayer experience

Don't know if someone commented already but if you use an hdmi splitter it will allow you to capture ps3 footage.

Black Ops I works pretty well online😃Red Dead 1 online too, which surprised me🙂

An HDMI Splitter which has HDCP stripping capabilities does work to capture PS3 footage. I can confirm.

Black ops is still populated on the Xbox 360 version as well and it’s not too sweaty.

It sucks they removed the online portion from the Red Dead 1 PS4 and Switch port recently. I easily sunk hundreds of hours into that mode. That's a lot of value to remove from the game.

I put a 1tb ssd in my fat ps3, didn't need the file om my usb or anything. It just took care of the problem. Tht is a great console

First cod I played was og mw3 I have no nostalgia for the older cod’s and I play bo1/2 multiplayer on ps3 when I wanna play cod there so much better then the new cods it’s not even close.

Did you know the PS4 VR works for the PS3. If it's modded you can play in semi 3d.

I have seen a little bit of a price pump in the Xbox 360 on PlayStation 3 on the main reason is that they could be play completely offline

I love the PS3 I just wish the LittleBigPlanet games still had online capabilities

I know you may not read this comment but I know you could get your old PS account back if you had the original system that you made it on. They will ask for the numbers on the bottom of your ps3 and then they will send a reset to your new email of choice. Hopefully you still have the system, it worked for me at least.

you should play world at war on ps3, still fun and doesnt reset your stats, cod 4 as well. bo1, bo2, mw2 and 3 reset my stats on ps3 but they still are fun on xbox and dont reset my stats on there, besides more hackers every once and a while, no hackers on bo1 so far.

Recently downloaded Red Dead 1 for my PS3 a couple weeks ago ( little Christmas gift to myself ) with the DLC and and all the add-ons. I'm 35 and it's a great time, online bustin up bandit camps with others. Stoping those who just want to grief the Free roam lobby, and getting them to help and participate with others... Just an undead indigenous person trying to help the world one bullet at a time 🤣🤣🤣

The other cods from first experience are flooded with hackers, just destroying other players in lobbies, unable to even move an inch. It’s a huge problem, but it’s sometimes a hit or miss. When you do get a hacked lobby, it’s just so bad.
