And then you realised "the experienced person" is also completely wrong. I've seen em say things like "The thumpers can hear you so be quiet" then proceed to die to the actual monster that can hear you. It's quite funny

I personally think that even knowing how to deal with the monsters, they are still terrifying. Hell, the bracken is even more terrifying to me knowing how he works

"knowing" how the bracken works makes it even more scary when it does something else. Glance at it? Merry crunching! Stare at it for 5 minutes? wave goodbye as you walk off without consequences.

The video is primarily about keeping the experience pure and unspoiled for others, he’s vouching for the ideal that you should avoid telling new players exactly what every enemy does as soon as they encounter it because it makes their first experience of the game pure and unfiltered

I know some people are disagreeing with you but thank you for these tips, I hate it when some people tell you everything about the game as it feels like fake progress. Like getting end game loot at the start of the game or getting a lvl 100 Pokémon for the first gym.

i absolutely love going silly, me and someone else were stuck somewhere due to a monster so i did the funniest idea that at the moment popped in my mind... juke it, run away screaming "TRY ME" and die imediatly after that

i downloaded a skinwalker mod where the creatures can mimic people voices, the previous round my friend said "eh, ive done solo before" and the next round me and that same friend were sitting in a corner and heard a creature say "eh, ive done solo before" in my friends voice. that shit was scary

Do you (or anybody else in this comment section) have any tips/suggestions for somebody who would get scared of the darkness, the monsters, the eeriness, etc? I have a group of friends who REALLY want me to play this, and it just seems like a pretty cool game too.

Here’s a good tip: mess around with friends. When you’re laughing with your friends the whole time you’ll forget it’s even a horror game (until you run into a monster, that is). Also, a flashlight or two would definitely help for the dark.

There are 2 routes you can go with this. The goofy and the tryhard. Goofy: Always stick to your friends when going inside. Have fun, do dialogues/RP or something. Just try to be as silly as you want and have a good laugh with your friends. Lessens your focus on the dark and eerie aspect of the game and you'll just get to have fun with everyone. Tryhard: Learn and master how to operate the terminal and 'cams'. On paid moons, the 'terminal guy' can be very crucial. Managing turrets and mines, guiding your crew to scraps and exits, opening and shutting the doors, teleporting at the right moment, identifying and communicating the presence of dangerous monsters, etc. Lessens your time of having to go inside the maps, hence, rarely encountering scary stuff (with the exception of outside monsters, sometimes mimics, and possibly ghost girl).

my friend group who has about 17 hours or so in risk of rain 2, theyre still unlocking new things, learning new combinations and stuff. they still have no fucking clue ive got ~2.8k hours in the game and it warms my teeny tiny little heart hearing the pure joy from them experiencing any game for the first time. and its kind of fun just kind of reliving the same cluelessness i also had when i first played the game, and acting like im as blind as they are helps me relive that in a way i had kinda lost.

I just love how I learned how to deal with the bracken yet everytime I see him and do what I have learned, he just comes up like "nah bro, u cant do that"

i learned by trial and error because thats more fun BUT after 20 hours i did look up how each monsters work because i felt like i had played the game enough and wanted to learn learn it

There's another option for the first one. (D) Tell them to do the exact opposite of what to do for fun (Pelo moment ngl)

6:40 Idk if anyone has brought this up yet but can we appreciate how quickly he turned off the radio when stac said to stop? He genuinely sounded freaked out when he said stop and I like how Madz was quick to defuse the situation in a way he could, really considerate friend if you ask me

when playing for the first time with my friend on our first run we encountered a land mine and just kind of crouched at it and he walked on it and we exploded I told him what did you think a metal blinking disc on the ground was gonna be!? (I knew what it was gonna be I just wanted to have a funny explosion moment so I didn't tell him)

My favorite thing to do to new players is add a mod which makes the Jester play Free Bird really loudly LOL

The idea that "you can play a game wrong" is just kinda dumb in my opinion. I think the only way to "play a game wrong" is to be told how to play a game "correctly". Your playthrough is your correct one. Not someone else's. This isn't really related to the content of the video and more about the clickbaity title. Still a good video with some good points.

I played the game for the first time today and I jumped off the ship early and died but my friend followed me and also died it’s amazing

As someone who immediately picks the hardest weapon to master in every video game, my own, play style is stupid first questions later

i think looking up the monsters SUCKS i prefer finding out what they do from experience whether its me or my friend dying or we somehow guessed the gimic spoiler for an enemy when we first found the sad version of the mask my friend brung it back to the ship and then left clicked once and thats how we found out the difference is that once you lift the sad one up you cant take it down so he promtly told us what was happening and then flung himself off the ship as we took off 💀

To me, my fun way to play is to be a great asset (great-great asset) to the company. I like to play as well as I can, but I tend to just follow my gut. I also tend to play stupid and put myself at risk but hey. Sometimes I do get rid of 2 Thumpers and the reward for that risk is one less thing to worry about. To me, the risk, the thrills, is what makes the game fun for the most part.
