I Played Every Shrek Game

Ойын-сауық

I had a fabulous time playing all the Shrek™ licensed games that I could get my grubby little hands on, and now I am the knowledgable swamp knower, bigger and better than any so-called "gamer", for only I know the true depths of Shrek's gorgeous, endless world. Come with me, curious Shrek fans, as we wade in and never return.
Big thanks to ‪@ScrapTakes‬ for covering Shrek the Third (for XBOX 360). I have never touched an XBOX, and I don't intend to sully my hands now.
btw, check out my game reviews @ www.backloggd.com/u/mothcub/ 💚

Fun bit of trivia: Shrek Super Slam (31:54) actually had a modest competitive community for a handful of years, largely because nothing is funnier to fighting game players than beating your friends in a game that you like less than they do.

My girlfriend left me in part because I used to rely on the alarm clock function of Pocket Shrek and the alarm noise was a poor impersonator yelling "WOAH YEAH! RRRRRRRRRRR! WOAH YEAH! RRRRRRRRRRR!". It was extremely poorly programmed and it was a crapshoot whether and when it would go off, and sometimes the audio clip would abruptly cut off and start again. She didn't like waking up to it and couldn't stand the idea of being with someone who was amused by something like it. It is truly a terrible feeling to have known love and lost it, but on the other hand *WOAH YEAH! RRRRRRRRRRR!*

I think the reason why the ogre babies don't have names but the dronkeys do is, because the game was released before Dreamworks gave the ogre babies official names for the fourth movie and they named the dronkeys for the third movie. Ogre Jr is Fergus, ogre boy is Farkle, and ogre girl is Felicia. Still, it's odd and funny that they're named like that.

Even if some of these games we used to play as children aren't the best in retrospect, I think many of us still have fond memories regardless. The Shrek the third game (pc version) was one of my first experiences with videogames, and I haven't forgotten the magic I felt while playing it. Seeing footage of it now just fills me with an innocent sense of nostalgia and I will forever remember it fondly. My girlfriend feels exactly this way about the Ratatouille game that ScrapTakes also mentions.

One of the reasons I've thought a lot about what games I'd want to introduce new family members to. What if they stay forever nostalgic for some cash-grab? But then again the enjoyment I could gain from gifting them Crazy Frog Racer 2. What if their parents aren't smart enough to not abide when they're crying for DLC, and the kid drowns in the ocean of content and I'll have to pay the funeral because the parents are in debt from trying to pay for it all? What if they end up falling in love with the company producing stuff and even as an adult keep unquestionably consuming and spending money, maybe even defending the company from criticism because they refuse to face the fact that the thing they loved for years was creted by abuse, sexual harassment, bigotry and/or general assholery? Or maybe I'll just give them the Sims 1 and tell them if all the sims die they die too so they can suffer from the same nightmares I do

@@NukkuiskoHyvinVaiPois i don’t think the games they play as children is going to influence their opinions on unethical companies as much as the general values they’re brought up with. depending on their age, it can be a valuable lesson to teach that sometimes bad people and companies make good things (there’s a lot of adults out there who need to learn that, but i digress). ultimately, i think you should just show them some silly fun thing you love and use it to bond with them (though i do think it’s a good idea to avoid introducing them to micro transactions when they’re young, so as not to ruin their parents’ lives).

If you haven't beaten the gamecube Shrek 2, I do recommend it because there are quite a few other playable characters and the work they put into them is really commendable. Like playing as the Big Bad Wolf and Puss In Boots Plus when Shrek and Donkey drink the happily ever after potion they become ONE new character that is human Shrek riding stallion Donkey as his steed. Since the game mechanically always needs 4 characters for co-op, they have to introduce a few original characters to the story, implying they were always just offscreen in the movie. You can be Tinkerbell and because she's so tiny and can fly she plays totally differently from the other characters. She's in only one level that's maybe 3-5 hours into the game. They put so much work into the Shrek 2 game and I truly think anyone even vaguely interested in it should check it out. Fantastic vid! I love the animation of GBA Shrek and Donkey pushing together 💚

For whatever reason, nearly all licensed games were either basic 2D-platformers or basic 3D-platformers with puzzle elements, even after those kind of games had been done to death. The gameboys were especially bad, even bigger console games would get a barely related 2D-platformer "versions" for them. Bonus points if loading screens, backrounds, character images or even cutscenes are just straight up from the media.

excellent work! was fun seeing just how many damn shrek games there are it's worth noting that the PC version of Shrek 2 is a completely different video game from the console version. it's a dedicated singleplayer platformer and if memory serves a bit of a brawler?

I remember Shrek superslam and Shrek 2 for PC being my favorite games when I was kid. Not that I could actually finish any of them. XD Makes me want to replay them as an adult
