Considering how this game is laid out, I would say it's almost entirely necessary to use RimWorld-style tactics because expansion of the base is mandatory, so stalling enemies until your soldiers can arrive is mandatory, which indicates a need for a "security checkpoint", ie a RimWorld killbox to make sure you and only you can intentionally circumvent the entrance and escape paths to cut off your foes and wipe them out (it's classic tactics, but I also have 1500 hours in RimWorld so I know exactly how this layout works)

the spawn points for the endgame enemies can sometimes just be anywhere in your base

because you know thats just fun right? And the deception and traps in the game are almost completely countered by endgame enemies. Meaning the only real way to deal with people is to throw bodies at the problem. wonderful. The Dlc also adds random extra stats to encourage tantrum spirals. yay.

I was considering buying this game. I was not convinced that I was going to like this game but, as a rimworld player, your comment convinced me to try it out and I love it!

You could try to connect both entry points and make all intruders funnel down one corridor. It will stop any sabatoeurs from getting to the control room with ease. Secondly, by turning two entrances to your base essentially into one, you can station all your guards in that one entrance. Being able to concentrate your firepower in one area is very useful. The only problem would be super agents. Agent X and Symmetry both spawn inside of the lair. By doing the quests to get rid of them, no enemies will be able to spawn inside. Another helpful tip is if the enemy soldiers are too strong with their guns, they will switch to hand-to-hand combat if one of your minions or henchmen get too close. Lastly, the reason super agents 'randomly' make their way to your lair is because when you start an operation in a region that super agent is currently idle in, they will get suspicious and will soon attack. If you choose to continue to play this game, this information will be very helpful.

One tip dont place the suspicious stuff right at the entrance

I set so many traps they essentially work as a tripwire alarm system, only sometimes have saboteurs gotten through and blew up and entire generator room

The base is more or less underground so if a fire were to occur, there would only be the rapidly-damaged ventilation system to control the blaze, so I wouldn't be surprised if the fire went from a single room to a whole wing before it began to collapse its own airflow, but almost as importantly, it easily creates a back draft and takes it from a fire to a conflagration. Not to mention the fact the smoke would be permeating every breathable inch across the entire base, possibly killing people just from that alone because the smoke won't naturally flow out and away from the underground halls of the base without good ventilation AND fire suppression.

The best way to defend your lair is to make so the enemies HAVE to go through a single corridor, full of traps that leads directly into your defense minions, like the buff ones.( There are lot of different types of minions, but be careful, they cost a lot of gold as upkeep when recruited in great numbers) Furthermore, invest in researching the higher tiers of generators for greater power production Your content is great, keep going my man Edit: If your money banks are full, you can spend your money to recruit more yellow minions instantly, they naturally get recruited for free after a while, you can do that in the minions management screen

Is this 100 days IRL? I don’t recall EG2 having a day/night cycle

This is a great game to play but may I suggest something sort of simmilar to kingdoms and castle called Warhammer 3 it takes lots of ideas from lord of the rings plus with your narrating type I think it would really compliment the game otherwise keep doing what your doing I love the content.

NGL, if you controlled a massive island halfway between the "East" and West, you're already in control of the world. That would instantly become the central trading hub for a majority of Asia, Africa, South America, and likely all of Europe, and the US would be on board if you said you'd sign a treaty with them (the Afghani military did this, it did nothing to stop the takeover once the US bailed) because we're money 1st, military 2nd. Basically, you would cut both India and China out of most deals as there would be a simpler route across the Atlantic than the Pacific, resulting in massively more efficient transportation cost and (just like China) palms to be greased to make the process quicker. You would basically be like the East India Company if they existed in one spot on the bottom of Africa, controlling ease of access to vast riches.

U can catch investigators and soldiers and interrogate them for intel

Why does this feel like a generative AI script

not playing with the oceans dlc content? excellent choice. it's still broken and the devs don't care enough to fix it, the temperature stuff just completely ignores solid walls, rooms, everything(at least it did the last time I played), oh and it also stacks so your power rooms and control rooms catch fire every 3 seconds unless you spam 999 coolers in there. overall I'm frustrated with this game because of how things are balanced. late game you need an entire floor of generators just to stay power positive. it had the potential to be an excellent sequel to the original evil genius, but the development went the road of overpriced dlc garbage, ship it and forget about it and watch the $$ come in.

The oceans DLC is by far the best one. The temperature doesn't ignore walls but it does leak into other rooms through doors which totally makes sense This DLC forces you to actually get creative with your building and not just spam everything in one corner And you still can spam everything in one corner by the way without caring about the temperature mechanic. I've seen a youtube get through the entire game without placing one cooler or heater while playing as Polar. It was a legendary sequel to the masterpiece EG1 was

Never played, but I feel like it's more like "can't tie their own shoes" rather than "cannot conceptualize a tether of some kind pulling things together" because that's like inhuman, "can you breathe in your own" levels of dumb but we were all, idk, 4 and couldn't quite nail the intricacies of the damn "loopty-loop and pull" so it's less like borderline vegetables and more like physically adults but intelligently children
