I pickup some Laptops from Trash - Let's give them a second chance
Hi everyone, thank you for 12:41 of your time. Office nearby has throwing away some stuff and between all I found these 2 laptops. ( Not in garbage but all was left if somebody want to get something )
I got it and let's give them a second chance. In this video I restored and upgrade Dell Inspiron 4112 , a low specs laptop, Intel i3 2350M, ( Intel HD graphics - no dedicated GPU ) 8GB DDR3 and 240GB SSD. In general is still good for some basic things, not bad.
The Lenovo is going to be in some of upcoming videos, but first need to do some repairs and find parts :)

Great video again as always. I'm sure you get this a lot , but would really love to see before and after temps, even if just screen shot of temps(not whole testing). You spend so much time and love the detailed process you always go through. Keep up the great work!!!

i love this part "dust and dirt"
Nice restoration. I have an old Acer Aspire netbook with Celeron CPU from about 2014 that I recently restored, upgrading the RAM and adding an SSD. It's amazing the lease of life an SSD gives. Before it was unusable. Now it's competent.

I also have a celeron ,and no cooler ,the motherboard does not have a plug for the cooler Btw the cpu is built in the motherboard so i cant upgrade it
The Dust isn't the problem with smoking but the tobacco smoke contains tar and this together with some other stuff makes the dust disgustingly sticky. I recommend using a marker to write the year onto the new CMOS battery so if someone in the future opens it up knows if the battery may be still working or should be changed.

Good idea about the putting the date on the battery
I like how you give those old laptops a second chance. They are all in bad conditions but can be useful for other people in lots of situations after some fixings. Great love form VietNam for your wonderful contents
hello, my friend Andrew! support from Qazaqstan 🇰🇿
Man..., I love the way how you handle that, you're so clean and carefully
Thanks for this video :) It's amazing to see the recovering efforts Really, i3's have a lot of power, either for retro gaming or even for basic IT work. Very glad to see these laptops get a second chance. Subscribed! Cheers!

Sorry to reply to my own comment, but i figure i should clarify: i'm a very big retro gaming enthusiast, and I also happen to think that old business laptops are a great opportunity. I bought one of my old work laptops for €100, it was about to be trashed and they gave me the option to buy it for pretty much a symbolic price. I'm pretty sure it's an i3, although memory is fuzzy (it was an old HP business laptop). It has perfect performance with retro games, even when putting them under Linux + Wine. So i can relate to your work rescuing laptops from the trash to give them a second life. Really enjoying your videos so far. Cheers!
Awesome restoration once again Andrew 👍💪🥰. Laptop looking new again 🤩🤯✊. It’s amazing how many of these laptops end up being junked 🤔☹ when they’re perfectly fine for teenagers uses such as school work, assignments, homework, web browsing, emails, social media etc. these would make a great school initiative and make the laptop a very cheap entry point for many ☺😇
You are a Genius, for me. Congratulations.
"That team is very good and aesthetically pleasing; but beyond that, I admire that you promote the environment by bringing old computers back to life. Thank you very much for the video." Grettings from Bogotá, Colombia @Cat and Andrew
Looking forward to the Lenovo video... I have similar laptop to the E530 I have E431 and I love the design and the machine is built really well. Even after 10 years it's working beautifully. Hope you'll be able to bring it to life just like you did with this Dell.
Como siempre.....espectacular!!!!!! que paciencia tienes Andrew!!! pero me encanta que revivas a estas viejas glorias!!! un saludo desde España.
Love to see laptops getting new life breathed into them. Maybe one day I can do that. 👀
Hello, Andrew! Hello, Cat! Hello, Mouse! Let's watch!
Amazing work Also show the boot up time after installing the ssd compared to before this will help people recognise the value of SSD. I'm using Asus x556ur but i had the worst experience till now. Recently i have installed an 500gb crucial SSD & my boot up time reduced to 30 seconds from 2.5 minutes. Restart would take 5 to 10 minutes & restart in 45-50 seconds. SSD has given a new life to my laptop. I recommended SSD 100% if you're still using hard drives for OS . Buy SSD from trusted brands like Samsung,WD, crucial or Kingston
Great job as usual man, your videos are so satisfying to watch.
Looking forward to the Lenovo repair...
I have a Lenovo like that one too. You probably just have to remove the CMOS battery for the bios to reset.
This Channel is the best restoration Channel. ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you for a content! Watching all your videos.
thank you for the education your awsome verry smart man my teacher
I, thoroughly, enjoy your videos. Keep up the great work!
With gold at its highest, you're doing a good job...
I hope you use full memory and SSD upgrades for all laptops is that they deserve running faster.
That cooler had an entire alien civilization living in it. Great job as always.
now this is what dkoldies should do with their consoles, this is the meta electronic cleaning stuff
Reviving old laptops and giving them SSD power feels so great every time you do it. Love to watch your videos and relax. Keep them coming.
you are meticulous in your work, its impressive to see
that is a beautiful dell finish.......i dont need to say it andrew as your work speaks for itself!
Good job Andrew 😊
Great video 👍
great video, Andrew!
hi , i like very much you vids , here is a question , why dont you try to put TinyOS to see the performance on this olds machines , would be awesome if those machines would have better performance with that OS
That's very nice. Did you know you can't buy cans of compressed air? They are actually cans of refrigerant and not healthy to breathe. I think Technology Connections channel explained it but I can't find the right video.
you can also salvage the webcams, the speakers, the displays...
Hey! Just here to tell you that some bg music is 'OKAY', which was missing in some of your previous videos.
Hi Andrew, new subscriber here, i watched a few of your old videos before but this video is far one of the best. I haven't been through all your videos however would you consider doing a video on how to troubleshoot laptop issues and fix laptops, I have several old laptops i would like to bring back to my life (my hobby)Thank you for the awesome videos
might need to use threadlocker glue for hinge laptop much more secure
I love watch your videos. It's always so relaxing. I learned few things from you. You are very talented.
A silicon pad will never beat thermal paste!
I always want to have a thinkpad especially the xtreme/ p series 🤤
I found an i5 laptop in the trash I use the screen as a portable monitor. Works great
I still use i3 3rd gen processor laptop from Hp. Just upgraded with 128gb ssd + 500gb hdd and 8gb ram.

Always satisfying watching your video 🙌
I have a HP ENVY laptop that you might like to restore/refurbish, if you want it. Let me know!
I like these videos because you always bring trash back to life.

Great content as always... Can you do one with your native language? 😊
You have missed the thermal pad's blue sticker
Amazing 👏
great job..
andrew if you had used a battery tester it would told you if theirs enough voltage in the 3v battery
only 1 laptop tough, where are the other? next videos?
How do you get those laptops? I live in a large city where I can imagine a lot of laptops go to trash when they could be rescued. I don't know how to get to them. Pls help
Can one buy a compatible upgraded motherboard for that laptop though? You have done an excellent job cleaning everything and I didn't think I could wash the plastic and other parts in liquid, so that's a lesson for me. Where did you source the brackets to mount the SSD?
I love your videos!
how do you get old and broken laptop from
This guy's videos are a treat to watch. nice work👍
so for all PC parts, you have to use isopropyl alcohol, regardless of the percentage, right? because I found that there were 70, there were 80 and 99 percent

Yes but a higher % reduces the risk of electric shock because a higher percentage evaporates quicker

Hi Andrew 👋🏽
What model is the Lenovo? I get excited when I find a tossed out PCs or laptops! My recent finds were a Fujitsu PRIMERGY Server with an Intel Duo Pentium 800Mhz (yeah, a bit old!) No HDD! But it still works! Before that I found an Asus Essentio desktop M51BC PC. With the AMD FX 8-core 8300. Works but has Win 8! Thank you 🤓

Very thorough and therapeutic restoration. I'm a massive Dell fanboy and even I wouldn't have gone to those lengths to restore an old Inspiron. They're probably my least favorite out of the main Dell laptop series.
Hi Andrew. I'm curious about how the "Tiny 11" works instead of Windows. Maybe you can try it with a 2GB Laptop :)
andrew what cameras do you use to film these special operations of repairing laptops? :D

love the cleaning kit, i need the list
Do me a favour please!!!! Before I try it myself ...when you restore your next laptop s keyboard, could you try applying a thin layer of matt clear coat for plastics? Tag me
I always appreciate these videos. Personally, I'd use some light weight linux distro for dual core laptops

if the silicone past is specified why would you want it ??
