I painted the new Daemon Prince from Slaves to Darkness as a 40K model!

Ok guys...I got the new Slaves to Darkness box from @officialwarhammer but I just couldn't resist the temptation to add it to my Night Lords army and painting it as a Chaos Undivided daemon. What do you think? Did I make the right choice? I'm planning to get some more of the same model to paint them for the different Gods too! He turned out so cool! The new daemon prince is an awesome kit with so many options that no two will be the same. Can't wait to get my hands onto it. Also, Retributor Armour is a crazy flexible paint. I've yet to encounter a shade or contrast that doesn't look amazing with it.

That looks absolutely incredible! I just started getting into 40K and I'm working on a Daemons of Chaos army, definitely want to get this model. I'm a little worried about building it properly as I've made a few mistakes with my Bloodletters and Daemonettes, but I'm excited to get this one anyway.

Just take your time read the instructions and dry fit each part before gluing

I reckon they really nailed this kit - especially in comparison to the old one. I'd go as far as to say there's no dud minis in the S2D box, too (and I wish I'd had the money to get it).

Looks great I ordered mine this morning. Can't wait to paint him. I'm planning on doing the first one from this box as undivided with the sword and black armor with wings and at least one more for my World Eaters with the axe and Khorne head.

The old Prince model was a fantastic platform for converting, the stance of the legs and arms was so wide you could do just about anything with it. I have a trio of Nurgle ones with Blight Drone wings and various bizarre heads, big bloated bellies, the whole nine yards. Can't wait to get my hands on this guy, he suits my Khorne Daemons down to the ground.

Love the color scheme! I think I may go with this when I paint mine up. My preference is for chaos to look very battle worn and bloody. I cant imagine demons spend much time worrying about their armor and weapons.

I would love to see you do a Slaanesh Daemon Prince, I play as Emperor's Children mostly and I have the previous daemon prince, but was not satisfied with how it turned out in the end. If you can make a video of an Emperor's Children Daemon Prince with the Black and Pink color combination, that would be awesome!

Its cool job, but real challenge would be to fully magnetize all options and paint it in colours that would fit all chaos gods.

I painted this beast quite a while ago. I’m honestly not sure what more I would do. Per gross I can tackle it on stream one of the days to get a better idea.

I know it's not in the spirit of your videos, helping people finish the models fast but you have inspired me to get better at painting and i cant tank you enough for it. Kind of want to try and paint the model in that 'eavy metal style.
Hopefully the daemon prince can be bought separately.

It will be! It’s just been released in the box set so far but soon it will be separate and available for 40k and Age of Sigmar!
Anything to keep in mind while building the 40k version? I'm working on figuring it out myself but don't want to miss any big steps

O it’s a fairly straight forward build you will be fine.
What's the base size for the new Daemon Prince? Is it still 60 mm? Also, did you get the new rules? Can we use undivided princes again or do we still need to declare an allegiance to one of the four chaos gods? Model looks incredible, as does the paint job!

It is indeed on a 60mm still and no I believe you can take an unmarked Prince.

Hey, where did you get the instructions for the 40k Variant? I picked up the Slaves to Darkness box, but the kit is pretty complex and looks to only have the fantasy build options.

It’s has all the 40K parts but not the instructions I pulled up the arrival on community showing the 40K one and just figured it out.
Is the slap chop technique suitable for painting armigers and Imperial knights?

I don’t really do the slapchop thing. I take mine a little further. My way 100% would work for knights.

If you have a look on the GW website you’ll be able to see them clearer than I’d be able to explain but you can use him for age of Sigmar or 40k, and he has wings/backpack, plus 4 heads! Lots of options plus he’d be easy to covert if you wanted to!

I didn’t convert a thing. All the pieces are on the kit to build it as either 40K or AOS. It’s an awesome kit.

I think you might have the wrong idea about GW 😄
When they first showed this guy off, months ago, I absolutely hated him. He looks very good in this video, but that body only makes sense for Undivided or Khorne, to me. If there are feathered wings, then I could see him being used for Tzeentch with the bird head option, but I don't see how he could be turned into a Daemon Prince of Nurgle or Slaanesh without a lot of kitbashing and/or sculpting.

That’s a fair point, I think there is enough sprue options to make use of but kitbashing is always a good way to really make the model fit the idea in your head best. Would love to see him with proper feathered wings!
