I painted a 20 FEET long mural in our studio!
Some of our projects have stayed in our storage room collecting dust for a while, and so it is time to give them a worthy home! I tried using spray cans for the first time (you know, the type you can make cool graffiti with if you know what you're doing) and acrylic paint, and created a custom Nerdforge-themed mural in our storage room! Now we can finally make a little showroom in the corner for our previous projects!

@@Darryldesiderium Well, the less talented you are, the more time you can spent on a project. The only thing you really need is dedication and the discipline to pull through. And maybe a hint of perfectionism helps as well. Granted, it will always turn out better, if you are also "talented" on top. But anyone can gather skill and muster discipline :)

For me it was quite funny (as an artist who works a lot with spraypaint) to see you testing out all the caps. I feel like most people underestimate how difficult working with this is. Was a struggle for me too at first and it actually needs a lot of practice as every new art medium needs, but you will get the hang of it. Mostly it's control of the pressure you put on the cap, working quick to not have too much paint in one spot and using your whole bodyflow to make cleaner lines. Learning which caps and which cans work best for what you want to achieve is of coursetime consuming, but also very worth it. And of course as I said lots and lots of practice... You did pretty well for your first time though.
The thing about graffiti is that it's not meant really to do small integrate designs, and they are meant to be looked from afar. The fact that you made such detailed design and _sorta_ stayed in the lines is incredible focus for the task.

this is not really traditional graffiti though with the markers and small brushes for the line work and all the masking with tape. heck one might argue using a projector is kind of cheating. not that it really matters but this is more of a mixed medium art piece than true graffiti.

Great job showing how hard a new technique can be sometimes. Not a lot of artists would be that honest.
Seeing the finished product, there was no way you were going to achieve that level of detail and line work with just spray paint at any skill level. Having said that, combining both mediums and finishing it off with your strengths, you ultimately achieved something that you wouldn't have been able to do with just a brush. 10/10 for the beautiful hard work you put into the project and not giving up despite being frustrated at your earlier results. 😁

The painting turned out amazing. It would be really cool too, another painting behind the dioramas shelf, to "set the landscape", something like a sky at the end of the day, with that magical touch of red tones or even, since they are in the northern hemisphere, an aurora boreal. Beautiful! You did amazing with the new aerosol medium. You’re a brave gal and it totally paid off.😍
A few years ago I also made a mural in my room with spray paint and oh boy do I feel you It was so fucking hard to have those clean lines and an even coverage. And pro tip to everyone you still wants to try it, please cover everything really good because the spray paint creates tiny paint particles which dry so fast that it turns into dust that gets everywhere
You should definitely add lights to the shelves so the dioramas can POP
The mural was looking really good... And then you started putting in the black outline... And BAM! WOW!

i've done graffiti for a few years and there is a lot you can achieve with can control and learning what you can do with a spraycan like different caps for different results, distance, speed, pressure on the cap, the way you move and hold the can etc, and there is no shame in using tape or a piece of cardboard to cover up and or get a straight line and just rollers to fill in large sections or a background color. you will get the hang of it and then combined with your talent you are going to enjoy it more and more and create amazing pieces of art. i would love to see another spraycan/graffiti video
This is why I love KZread. So Super talented people like you can do this stuff for a living. Started on your PS5, Xbox and Pc videos but now im just binging others.

I think the purpose of spray paint art is that it is not supposed to be in the lines. Most artists who use it, just freehand it. It is not supposed to be nice nad tidy from what I understand. Hence brushes were invented - to stay neatly in lines and make it all crisp and clean. And from what I know spraypaint is not used for details, it is mostly for the background and fades/blends.

Thanks for another amazing video! I think Martina approached the piece more like a painting than a mural, there is so much small details and the outlines were so small.
