The style of the last game was so cool

I think I'd still prefer another pass the game challenge. Additionally you should pay multiple artists for an episode like that too, so you have programmers and artists making the game.

I can see these games are built in rush, but with a bit more effort, they would be top notch!

It's not entirely the games being rushed, but also BadGameDev not showing much of them sometimes. Game 1 was indeed quite short so we did get to see the entire game. (or at least the "thank u for playing" screen) Game 2 was a decent showcase of it. he showed how the game works and a part of it. Game 3 was BadGameDev basically being that one game journalist failing to beat the cuphead tutorial. he was stuck in 1 room and it sucks we didn't see more of the game. (and honestly it gave me little nightmares vibes. just sucks that we didn't get to see more of it cuz of BadGameDev not knowing how to progress through it) Game 4 wasn't even a "horror platform game" and, indeed, looked rushed from what BadGameDev showed us in the vid. (but the idea itself was nice even if it was rushed) That's just my opinion at least.

@@Darkrobot1000 yeah, basically only the last one they went with creative liberty and failed the assignment. game 3 looked fun but I feel it needed more tutorial, or that room was an unfinished game, had no exit, looked like, but overall unreal engine must take more effort and budget to even be viable to waste time on developing a complex concept like they showed(at least what I understood, about needing more momentum and what you can have intuition, lacks learning curve, as I mentioned about tutorial). On another note, loved your ralsei pfp combined with the name dankrobot. I picture ralsei as such a stoner in my headcanon lol

game 4 seems cool but it's not a platformer game...

I guess the last guy (clown game) forgot about the platformer part of the task? To be fair most of these looked fairly well done though, only the third person 3D one controlling the soldier seemed kinda bad. Pity the last guy completely skipped the platformer elements though.

the platform devs were better, unreal devs just throwing together assets, much worse gameplay, feel, etc. the first platform one actually looks very promising.

I think number 4 is too pricey for what you get, and I'm curious if all the games he creates use similar 3d models. He isn't really a platform developer, so it makes sense that it's out of place. The third game was trash, IMO, but for 20 dollars, what can you expect? The second game didn't really have a lot of content. It seemed boring. Usually, he does better. Number 1 was promising, but I would have been unhappy with it in the end. 100$ for one level seems steep to me. It was pretty short, but maybe it's easy to make additional levels with the files he gives? I second the idea of not using the same people all the time. It gets pretty bland seeing the same styles all the time.
