fondant also tastes pretty bad to most ppl, so it makes it taste better too

As a custom cake decorator I love his energy so much in this. And the comparison between cake art and makeup is so true! Our work only survives through photos and film. It can be frustrating but it’s part of the fun for sure. Everything is temporary! Enjoy it while you can!

This was absolutely deranged and I want to make a cake of myself now. I'm one of those people that has a delusional confidence in my creativity due to a few minor successes but then I get rabbit holey super quick and am like, "Oh. I see now that [BLANK] is not in my wheelhouse." I think that would be me with a me cake.

I'm not sure what my favorite part was - Trixie's reactions upon seeing each cake for the first time, the INSANE craftsmanship that went into each one, or the sassy editing.

I vote for the first cake. That one needed bigger lips, but besides that, it was the cleanest and best rendition of Trixie, imo. Besides this, I think the banana cotton candy hair was fantastic! Fondant is such an obvious choice, but it is heavy when you go to transport cakes and a cake can be damaged just from the shear weight. This was brilliant. Bravo to all the artists! You can tell all all talented! It is incredibly difficult to work with edible mediums and cake is especially challenging!

Number one looks like your ideal birthday cake (mine too, let's be honest), number two looks like the cake they'd wheel out at the end of your celebrity roast to riotous applause, and number three looks like the cake Mattel would have set up at the launch of the Trixie Mattel Barbie. 💖

These were all beyond amazing!! I think the first is my favorite…but the lips on the second one were spot on and the last one was impressive too.

I find it hard to believe that they were actually able to use the box mixes without doctoring them somehow… they’re very fragile cakes and with sculpted cakes you need them to be sturdy. and then Trixie said there’s a layer of the canned frosting. As a baker myself i can say how extremely talented you need to be to make something like that. Cause its not easy at all. The proportions and the weight distributions. I absolutely lived for the first one ! The second one still looked great but more balloon like, the third on its side profile was amazing, 12:02 looks great, but it looked more like a melted barbie, i did very much love them all !!!

@@joegarcia770 I've heard of professional bakers using box mixes but with different ingredient proportions etc to make it easier to work with. More eggs to give it more structure, and switching out butter for oil so when you freeze it, sculpt, and then refrigerate it, it's more solid. I wouldn't be surprised if they did that because technically they still used the cake mix.

First cake looks like lady bunny. Love it. Second cake looks like Serena Chacha soft sculpture. Third one looks like Raven as Rupaul as Trixie Mattel. They are all amazing! Just giving different vibes lol

The cakes were fantastic but I'm here for the casual Don't Tell Mom The Babysitter's Dead reference Trixie made at the end!

I've watched this a few times and each time her reactions are truly Trixie awesome

that “goodbye” was very warm and cheery, katya has taught you well :’)

I took one look at the second cake and said "Detox" and then Trixie did, I laughed so hard!

Those first two were phenomenal. I've always looked down my nose at cake mixes but no more after this brave and creative support of Miss Trixie.

We need a version where Trixie tries to make a cake of herself.

the second cake was best imo, the way the features were made and then had makeup over it was great. Its literally Trixie with a fish-eye lens

Charm city cakes by far had your makeup to a tee....yup my favorite is number 2

They say opposites attract, and Trixie likes basic.... Makes sense. 🤩 If I go to a function with cake, I always take some to my Mom. Always. From the time I was a child until she died 2 years ago... She loved cake. 🎂😍
