One thing you didn’t talk about was marketing. What methods did you use? Who manages your social media? How about selecting your employees? Who helped you hire/interview. What were your expectations? Do you also work in your salon or do you just run it?

Wow girl. I couldn’t be more glad that this video was in my recommended section. I’m obsessed with your drive. Your passion really reminds me of myself. Ig you see this, I wanna let you know how inspirational this was to me❤️ I’m 21 working in a commission salon. It’s not quite my vibe and I’m not growing there. At this point I’m trying to figure out what my next step is. Owning my own salon has been a thought of mine for some time. Thank you for going over so many important things to open a salon.

I’ve never found someone that thinks so similar to me!! Like everything you said from expectations to how you want your salon to be and your ambition... it’s amazing and I wish I was at school with someone like you (like me haha) but I think I just can’t get over the risk part of it... like how did you overcome the fear in the back of your head telling you “what if this doesn’t work at all”? I’m so scared but I want it all! 😭 you are amazing and I’ve subscribed 🤗

You just have to put mind over matter. If you go into thinking about what if it fails, then that’s where you’re mindset will be. You need to think positive and give it all you got!!

I think you are a great inspiration for young people to learn that getting their shit together in their 20's is important. I wasted my 20's. My question is, where did you learn your business savvy mindset? I actually have quite a few degrees and certifications. I will say in retrospect that they are valuable if you know what you plan to do with them but in my generation (yes I said it) degrees were a sign that you would go far in life. This was before there was internet and other ways to create success. I am in the process of adding a med spa/beauty lounge to my Wellness center. I will 100% admit I am not a numbers person but if I were a numbers person, it probably wouldn't have taken me until I was 40 years old to start my clinic/business/profession. Congratulations. Your studio is beautiful.

It changes every year. So the intros I bought would be different that what they are offering now. The best thing you could do is finding a Kenra Account Executive in your area and becoming yaffiliated with Kenra! They also have tons of them. So it’s hard to say what would work best for your future salon!

I also wanted to say that I am very bad about telling people what I am going to do. I do end up doing most of what I set out to do and I want people to promote me so I tell them but I found that things usually take me longer to launch than I anticipated so I end up still working on the same project maybe a year later especially due to covid. I had a mobile clinic I purchased that has been sitting and a food trailer but due to covid and lack of staffing, both of those projects had to be put on the back burner. I literally opened 2 locations but still everyone says "well this is all great but what about that mobile clinic parked in your lot?" I get frustrated with people because they don't have any idea how long one thing takes to get going and they end up thinking that if I say I am doing something that means it will happen within 3 months. I agree probably not saying anything until I am ready is a good idea but then I also feel like telling people forces me to follow through (even if it takes me longer than expected).

I can't imagine how many small details/bits of info you feel like you left out but you still had all of it so organized. Def taking notes here :) Also, which cosmetology school were you enrolled at if you don't mind me asking! I currently live in TX so I'm still doing all of the research on that end and some programs just look very sketchy or not up to date... :/ Thanks in advance for any advice Seophie!

One thing I have realized is and you probably know this, is that your vision and delegation has to grow with your size. I found it very difficult to handle social media, and all the admin part and be a practitioner. I would be interested to see a video where you talk about the growth and systemization you implement along the way especially for managing social media. I had someone who did this for me and they quit so I quickly realized that my plan was not able to be replicated and it was not scalable so we ended up stalling after we expanded to new facility. This may or may no be where you are in your journey and I was not prepared for updating my methods fast enough for the move. Just an FYI since you were very wonderful about sharing your journey.

I'm more nervous about the math side of everything? Also since the corona virus how is the cosmetology business been doing here in Delaware? I live in dover so I'm not sure if your from a different county or city here and if its any less or more business with everything happening.
