Wish I would have never sold my Baja. It was such a fun Buggy. Hopefully I will get another someday.

I once used disposable nitrile glove cut into small pieces as threadlock for the wheels on a Hyper MT, worked well and super cheap

kzread.info/dash/bejne/iJOt1cOgh7Hbk5c.html This is 170mm paddles with totally stock setup... just the free air filter mod... and tuning... there's immediate increase in RPM's under throttle... and it's staying in the powerband... I can use half throttle as needed, but if I go full throttle, the RPM's instantly shoot up and wheels accelerate... noticeably different than the way we tuned before... here is normal settings (tune L and then H separately): kzread.info/dash/bejne/lZiMp8xwf5C9ZKQ.html See the delay in RPM rise? That's because we tuned it for mid throttle balance and full throttle balance... rather than richer mid throttle with leaner high throttle... we learned for these small engines that gunning it can bog a lot if the H is rich... and also bog if the L is lean... seems like a bit righ on L and lean on H delivers the most time in the powerband... and it's fun to hear the RPM's rev...

What seems to work best for the kind of bashing that we do which seems similar to yours is that we start with the low needle and lean it out until performance drops... then start with the high needle and reaching it until performance drops. That feels like the opposite end of the spectrum from what we are ideally looking for. Then we slowly begin to richen the bottom end and lean out the high needle until we achieve the same combination of maximum speed but we are able to get the most amount of acceleration and least hesitation or bogging off the line.

Yeah the thing I noticed about the gas powered machines is they need constant tuning throughout the run…..it’s definitely hard to get it right……thanks for the recommendations! 👍😉

Oops! You're learning what we learned... that Wheel Diameter is super important for gas RC's!!! because you want to stay in the powerband, unlike electric where it doesn't matter as much... we learned that through trial and error... 170mm is king for 1/5 scale 2 stroke... unless we change the gearing... mid throttle should be powerband time! The second half of the throttle throw should be all instant acceleration to top speed!!! No bogging and waiting for speed to catch up!
