Very sorry Doctor, but it was expected, my advice is to agree with your dad to refund you the cost of the structure and go and concentrate on the main big farm don't overstretch yourself, remember our road's in Uganda are death trap, commuting now and again you will loose focus a distance of 350-400Km is not a joke,in the first place you had made a right decision to quit your medical profession and concentrate on your small farm, luckily you got involved in a bigger farming project now the challenge is distance, focus on one location to maximise output

Doc, thanks for sharing this, it's not about your dad asking, and to your point it's about a bigger issue which is the elephant in the room; thus is it the deep litter poultry or cage poultry safe and necessary? I for one have been considering free range poultry, may be - just may be, could be the solution 🤗

Dr DANIEL good morning sorry for your loss of those fouls. My mum who is 93 going on 94 said years ago her mother experienced the same sought of thing when they were small with some yard flows. What she did was use lemon juice or pieces of ALOES in each of the water pots for the sick ones to drink. Since you are not keeping them you can pass on the information to the other person or persons who will be taking them.

So sorry to hear about this sad news but ups and downs do take place in business.take heart and expect better days ahead...we usually cut onions and garlic with turmeric powder and give the chickens whenever they fall sick and very often they recover.I too lost 3 chicks but I had one chick who was extremely unwell and couldn't stand for almost a month so I put her under the light in a box and kept feeding water and onions. She did recover and is now a year old.We do feed our birds with onions and garlic from time to time and fingers crossed they have been healthy so far.
