Thank you very much Daniel for the BIO SECURITY ACTION taken, yes is true every business needs to grow and especially with the big number of birds you need in your farm 🚜 . I like the decision you took. ONE MORE ADVICE TO YOU, PLEASE DON'T LET THE GUYS WORKING WITH THE BROILERS TO GO WORK WITH OTHER BIRDS OTHER THAN THE BROILERS. EACH FLOOCK TO HAVE IT'S OWN WORKERS. That is for the same reason you are selling your local BIRDS 🐦. 🇿🇦

Congratulations...!!!! Thats good but thats what Farming is about my friend..you have to sell tgen replenish your stock. Get used to it and also its a testimony of your hardwork reaping what you sew. Blessings
I have followed and taken note of the bio security issue early intervention to avoid diseases transmission to the larger barn, good thoughts and learning there.I am sure you will defray you costs-ROI now that christmas is around the corner. I congratute you Doctor ,continue sharing this will definately benefit learner like myself.
What a good project! You have inspired much Daniel. I have started mine with few and I believe through this I will make it
Rabbit will borrow any where they like. They will make hole and go out. You can look up rabbit tractor. In tractor system, you will have the best result.
That's being proactive..foreseeing and preventing a potential advent of disease. I got scared for a second thinking some of them could have gotten sick! Some of us have watched this channel from day one and have seen the time, money and efforts put in. You have done the right thing. Bravo.
For a moment at the beginning I thought that you were throwing in the towel. Well I'm happy to know that you are just making a very good business decision. Happy farming. 🇯🇲
doc Daniel, you are not just human doctor but also for birds. that's the best decision and you have inspired me a lot since i started following you last year on the channel and begun my own poultry farm (kuroiler birds) in September with 200 of them and sold them off by December and now looking forward to bringing another bunch this month and opening a KZread channel . thank with the spirit and may God bless all your efforts and struggle. Natasha lira.
You can use your goats, cattle, pigs and free range chickens to clear the area, use movable fences, they will do amazing job and turn that greenery into meat.
Hi Daniel, very, very inspiring. You have touched my heart and I'm gonna start mine this year starting with 1500 layers.
Hey Doc! Being an entrepreneur is not for the faint hearted. It takes balls of steel 2 make em tough decisions on a regular. Thats y its always good advice never 2 get 2 emotionally attached 2 yo livestock cuz u may confuse em 2b pets n never sell instead of em being an investment. It all comes down 2 hitting that bottom line period!!

DOC, cant you put the free range chickens on the other side of your farm on a different part of your farm? thank you for the tips and info
I thoroughly enjoyed watching this video, so informative, great camera work(especially the drone). I'm from South Africa, and I just started raising chicken as a hobbie last year, with only two chickens. Now I have 11. I hope one day I could own a farm like this one . You really have beautiful animals bro and I would be devasted if I had to sell all my chickens. Goodluck

Disease can come from anywhere….even a sick bird flying over that farm can introduce a disease there. Being in farming myself, I know how scary these risks are.
Really inspired by your growth in the last one year...am starting my journey...
Daniel thanks so much god bless you
A good explanation. Thank you.
Brother Daniel, am an upcoming poultry farmer. Very passionate with farming and ready to learn more about it. You are not just a Dr or a farmer but also a teacher. I have a farm in Busia Kenya and I would like to visit you and learn more about poultry farming.
Farm up boss it's a long way but since now you have the best idea and experience you will do more better than this let it go, may God continue to bless you
Just say this is Christmas and you need to sell since there's demand. Whatever you say, they will have to be sold some day and what better time than Christmas?
Watching from Bulawayo, 🇿🇼. Thanks Doc.
Thank you for this i will remember not to get too attached in case i must sell my livestock
Sensible thinking...but would love to visit....was born in Uganda and miss my soul home very much. One day . .

Woooow Dr Daniel Bulijjo ori mu Uganda... I didn't know.. Am soo happy abt that.. And this is my dream too.....
I love your hard work am aspiring be like you one day
Dr you also make some research on goats because they also carry diseases that can affect the birds but hope with time you will get us a pickup station in jinja...
Daniel, what breed of chicken is the one that weighed 4.55 kg? Is that a kuroiler male? Do you remember how old that one was at the time of weighing? Thanks
How I wish I was back in ug I would have not missed this chance 🤔🤔thanks keep inspiring
Don't slash the area around your dams. The vegetation is stopping evaporation, it stops the wall of the dams cracking, it's stabilizing the soil. Just make the fenced area much bigger. The thorny plants are nitrogen fixers. They are very important for soil health. They also provide protected habitat for birds. You need many more water plants such as bullrushes, duck weed, lotus.... Are you sure about free range rabbits? Males fight like crazy, and one bite gets very infected. I've even got a scar on my hand from trying to separate two males and one bit me by accident. It didn't let go until I was completely still. Free range, the males need very big areas so there is peace. Just look at Australia. You need lots of predictors to keep rabbits in check. They can dig more than you can believe. It's much easier to keep the females in your luxury chicken houses and the males in separate cages. I had to give away 300 kits and cull around 200 rabbits before returning to Australia because of violence in Mexico. We also had to sacrifice the cats, dogs, chickens, Guinea pigs....It was heartbreaking.

Oh, nice. Well, at least we have the predators, us the humans..we'll certainly keep the population in check. The biggest risk is their health of course. But I've seen a few people in the neighbourhood do it so it's worth gambling a little. If it fails, we move onto the next one, but it's worth trying. The space is a bit big...luxurious 😅

@@ahmedinhassan8237 If you are interested in rabbits, check out Joel Salatin. If you are into caged rabbits because of convenience and physical health of rabbits (not necessarily psychological rabbit health) consider a barn like structure where the roof (or catwalks) have a truss like structure so that the rabbit cages can hung without cage legs. The floor is ideally concrete or compacted clay covered with dirt, woodchIps, hay. This makes it much easier to clean the floor. At one end of the barn have young females with a play areas of artificial caves, tunnels, disposable hay bales, chewing branches. At the other end have very young males. Learn how to identify females from males when they are young and keep the numbers down incase you make a mistake. Have the breading age rabbits in individual cages in the centre aisle of the barn. Each cage holds one adult and their kits (1.5m x 1m minimum). When breeding, introduce the male to the female for the time it takes you to feed all the rabbits, then remove him. Under the rabbit cages, you can have some chickens that will eat the rabbit droppings as part of their diet. I found it more convenient to feed alfalfa, oat hay, grass hay and other greens such as amaranth, carrot tops... rather than pellets because the urine didn't stink, they had less fat build up around internal organs, it was more economical and there was less wastage from rabbits scratching in the food containers. Good luck with your project.

Very young mother does have very few kits in their first litter. You can even up the litters by rubbing the introduced kits in the fur of the adopting mother before placing in the nest. When placing new young rabbits with the other young rabbits, rub their fur with the floor deep litter so that they smell correctly as part of the warren.
Please think of another way of settling the geese without cutting down the trees around the lake. There is a lot of good biodiversity there. A Landscape architect can help you get the best out your farm. You will profit a lot from eco tourism.
@FarmUp
2 жыл бұрын
Won't cut the trees. Will reduce the bushes. There's certainly snakes in there. Pythons
The rabbits will dig deep.. You'll have to keep them indoors in cages like other farmers do... Looking forward to learn more about the rabbits..
Good job doctor.
Awesome job Daniel!

Hi Mr Daniel,I'm from Kenya and I do egg hatching but mostly I'm not getting good number of chicks, pls what can I do to improve hatching rate
@skyheightsfilms

Hey bro, some tips, hatch eggs than are not older than 10 days, make sure the brooder flock are alphas (healthy with no history of illnesses) in ratio of 1 to 7, rooster to hen, store eggs with the bigger side facing up not to weaken the air sac. Finally invest in an incubator that as atleast 98% hatch rate, Daktari can verify, this works like a gem.
