I made Vietnamese lemongrass porkchops and it was a big hit on IG and TT
VIETNAMESE LEMONGRASS PORK CHOPS⤵️
My husband doesn’t like pork chops but I told him to take one for the team and eat it for dinner because y’all have been asking me for a recipe… he said ok! Haha I usually only things that we both can eat. Sometimes I’ll make things he likes that I don’t and I’ll just suck it up and eat it and vice versa
INGREDIENTS
6 pieces of pork chop (I used bone in)
12 cloves minced garlic
3 TBSP minced lemongrass
3 TBSP fish sauce
3 TBSP honey
6 TBSP oil
1 tsp black pepper
1. Flatten your pork chop with a mallet being careful to avoid the bone. Then cut slits onto the side with the fat to avoid it from curling when you cook.
2. Then clean your pork how you normally would. I like to soak my pork in water and salt for 10 minutes. And then rinse and drain under cold water.
3. After you’ve cleaned your pork, marinate your pork chops with: minced garlic, minced lemongrass, fish sauce, honey, oil and black pepper. Marinate for at least 3 hours or over night for best results.
4. After your pork has been marinating, you can cook on a skillet, oven or airfryer.
5. TO COOK:
- STOVETOP: Heat up some oil. Cook on skillet 4-6 minutes on each side depending on thickness of pork chops (medium heat)
- OVEN: Bake at 375F for 15 minutes on each side
- AIRFRYER: 375 for 30-35 minutes flipping half way through
6. Serve with rice, veggie of choice and fish sauce dip
FISH SAUCE DIP
1/4 cup fish sauce
1/4 cup sugar
12 oz coconut soda/ coco rico or water
2 TBSP white vinegar
5 cloves minced garlic
Garlic chili paste (sambal) - optional
Chopped Thai chili - optional
- mix this all together til sugar dissolves

Only holding flat saran wrap slows our movements( slow mo)...nothing else does😂
When she comes in with the plastic wrap, it looks like she’s getting ready to trap something! 😂

The meat might run away. Ever seen a chicken run after the head's been cut off? Or the snake wiggle its body after you cut the head?

As a Vietnamese American I am so grateful for these recipes. My mom has never really shared with me on how to cook Vietnamese food. So I’m glad that there is some guidance for me that’s easily accessible
I love that you are promoting Vietnamese cooking, it’s such an underappreciated style.

The way you sneakily walked up to the pork with that Seran wrap it reminded me of someone trying to sneak up behind someone to put a pillow over their face lmao

True. I tried her recipe it was amazing. The leftovers juice I marinade tofu. Panfried for Vietnamese fresh Spring roll super yummy.
I cook for a living and I can tell you put allot of love into the meals you make for your family. They are fortunate to have you doing this for them, I'm sure you are very appreciated. I firmly believe that a family can bond best around a dinner table, and that it takes good food to bring the family to the table to begin with, though. I think you got that covered well. Good luck to you and your family, and thanks for the great recipes.
The way you smile when you turn the food processor on and off gives me such a dumb smile, I love you 🤣😂
Lemongrass is such a nice flavor, yummy combo I'm doing this!
Pro tip! Measure the oil, then immediately after, measure the honey. (If you wanna be exact) it’ll come right off
There are some many things ❤ but #1 is your awesome use of kitchen shears!!!! Chef’s kiss
Your sense of humor and funny faces just make my day proud of you girl runs strong run strong

Thanks for the recipe and I really enjoy your personality and videos😊👍
Looks great. How did you get the lemongrass, did you make it yourself and put in the freezer or fridge? I have some growing but I don't know exactly how to preserve it for ready use
Great recipe! Thank you.
Binged your channel in two days and this is exactly the content I signed up for🔥💯💕
I be wishing, I get feed like that :/ man’s get the protein and veggie tables 😭
Looks really good! Although I'd postpone the oil until after it has marinaded because oil is hydrophobic and will act as a barrier to liquids.

Cell membranes are made up of phospholipids, which allow lipids and lipid-soluble substances to pass through by diffusion. So using oil to marinate meat help it to absorb the flavors of the marinade.

i believe it helps them stay flat while frying which helps to get an even sear. if you don’t do this they tend to bend and shrivel up and not get browned evenly

I’m curious about how you prepared your lemongrass. I would love to know how to keep it in a jar like that to have ready for recipes. I usually just keep the stalks in my fridge.
